WARNING
• Always keep yo r hands clear of the red safety bar pivots when yo load, nload, or change the height position of
the cot.
• Always se both hands when yo transport the cot.
•Power-PRO with the Power-LOAD compatibility option operates primarily at these freq encies: 70 - 85 kHz for
ind ctive charging and 13.56 MHz±7 kHz, Amplit de Mod lated (OOK), ERP: -82.37 dBm. The ind ctive charging
can operate between these freq encies: 70 - 125 kHz. Other eq ipment may interfere with the Power-LOAD system,
even if that other eq ipment complies with CISPR emission req irements.
• Always install the in-fastener sh t-off system in any emergency vehicle that will be sed with this cot if sing an
antler style cot fastener.
• Install the cot fastener by q alified personnel only. Improper installation co ld res lt in inj ry to the patient or
operator.
• Always make s re that all cots meet the installation specifications for the Stryker cot fastener system.
• Always position the in-fastener sh t-off before yo place the cot into service.
• Do not attempt to operate the cot when it is loaded into a cot fastener.
• Always se the in-fastener sh t-off to disable the electronic f nctionality only. Do not se the in-fastener sh t-off for
any other p rpose.
• Do not remove the battery when the cot is active.
• Always operate the cot only when all persons are clear of the mechanisms. Entanglement in powered cot
mechanisms can ca se serio s inj ry.
• Always inspect SMRT Paks for damage before every se.
• Do not allow ntrained assistants to assist in the operation of the prod ct.
• Do not ride on the base of the cot.
• Do not transport the cot sideways to avoid the risk of tipping. Always transport the cot in a lowered position, head end
or foot end first to minimize the risk of tipping.
• Always cond ct patient monitoring when the cot is idle. If yo hydra lically raise or lower the prod ct yo may
temporarily affect electronic patient monitoring eq ipment.
• Do not leave a patient nattended. Hold the prod ct while a patient is on the prod ct.
• Do not apply a wheel lock when a patient is on the prod ct or when yo move the prod ct to avoid the risk of tipping.
• Do not se siderails as a patient restraint device.
• Always transport the cot at a lower height to red ce the risk of a cot tip. If possible, obtain additional assistance or
take an alternate ro te.
• Always avoid high obstacles, s ch as c rbing, steps, or ro gh terrain to avoid the risk of the prod ct tipping over.
• Always se Power-LOAD with the 6085/6086 Performance-PRO XT, 6500/6506 Power-PRO XT, and 6510/6516
Power-PRO IT cots with the Power-LOAD option only. In certain sit ations, yo can se Power-LOAD as a standard
antler for most X-frame cots, b t a rail clamp assembly is req ired for all cots witho t the Power-LOAD option.
• Always make s re that yo se a Power-LOAD date of man fact re cot with the Stryker Model 6390 Power-LOAD
system to avoid the risk of inj ry.
• Always s pport the load of the patient, cot, and accessories after the weight is off of the gro nd.
• Do not p ll or lift on the cot safety bar when yo nload the cot.
• Always lock the head section into place before yo operate the cot.
• Do not load the cot into a vehicle with the head section retracted when sing a cot fastener. The cot may tip or not
connect with the cot fastener.
• Do not install or apply a wheel lock on a prod ct with worn wheels that are less than 6 in. diameter.

cracked or damaged, do not insert it into the charger. Ret rn damaged battery packs to a service center for
recycling.
• Always avoid direct contact with a wet battery or battery enclos res. Contact may ca se inj ry to the patient or
operator.
• Do not insert a cracked or damaged SMRT Pak into the SMRT charger. Ret rn damaged SMRT Paks to a service
center for recycling.
• Always have a certified mechanic, familiar with amb lance vehicle constr ction, install the optional mo nting bracket
and the SMRT charger.
• Always mo nt the SMRT charger to the optional mo nting bracket in an enclosed cabinet and o t of patient reach
d ring transport to comply with established crash test standards.
• Always make s re that the optional mo nting bracket is sec rely attached to the s rface.
• Always se any appropriate personal protective eq ipment while power washing to avoid inhaling contagion. Power
washing eq ipment may aerate contamination.
• Always wipe the prod ct with clean water and dry after cleaning. Some cleaning prod cts are corrosive in nat re and
may ca se damage to the prod ct. Fail re to properly rinse and dry the prod ct leaves a corrosive resid e on the
s rface of the prod ct and may ca se premat re corrosion of critical components.
• Always wear ins lated r bber gloves, in addition to personal protective eq ipment, when cleaning the SMRT Pak to
red ce the risk of inj ry.
• Always disconnect the SMRT charger from the wall o tlet before cleaning to avoid the risk of electrical hazards.
• Do not spray fl id directly onto the SMRT charger.
• Do not power wash the SMRT charger.
• Do not immerse the SMRT charger in water or allow water to collect on top of the SMRT charger to avoid the risk of
electric shock.
• Always se only non-cond ctive materials to wipe the SMRT Pak.
• Always refer to the disinfectant’s Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) to verify the pH range. Disinfectants with pH
levels higher than 10.5 may ca se the SMRT Pak ho sing material to crack.

• This eq ipment has been tested and fo nd to comply with the limits for a Class A digital device, p rs ant to part 15
of the FCC R les. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmf l interference when the
eq ipment is operated in a commercial environment. This eq ipment generates, ses, and can radiate radio
freq ency energy and, if not installed and sed in accordance with the instr ction man al, may ca se harmf l
interference to radio comm nications. Operation of this eq ipment in a residential area is likely to ca se harmf l
interference in which case the ser will be req ired to correct the interference at their expense.
• Always set the cot load height to the proper stop height before operation.
• Always have a certified mechanic, familiar with amb lance vehicle constr ction, install the vehicle safety hook.
Cons lt the vehicle man fact rer before yo install the vehicle safety hook. Make s re that the installation of the
vehicle safety hook does not damage or interfere with the brake lines, oxygen lines, f el lines, f el tank, or electrical
wiring of the vehicle.
• Always charge the battery before yo place the prod ct into service. An ncharged or depleted battery may ca se
poor prod ct performance.
• Always clear any obstacles that may interfere and ca se inj ry to the operator or patient before operating the
prod ct.
• Do not entangle the restraint straps in the base frame when yo raise or lower the cot.
• Always sec re the defibrillator platform to the prod ct when yo se the defibrillator platform.
• Always se and adj st the straps that are provided with the defibrillator platform to sec re the defibrillator.
• Always change the installation location or adj st the straps for yo r specific defibrillator size or shape.
• Do not load the defibrillator platform above the safe working load of 30 lb (13.6 kg).
• Do not load the eq ipment hook above the safe working load of 35 lb (15.8 kg).
• Always remove all accessories or eq ipment from the eq ipment hook when in the vehicle.
• Do not load the oxygen bottle holder above the safe working load of 15 lb (6.8 kg).
• Do not se two oxygen bottle holders at the same time.
• Do not load the backrest storage po ch above the safe working load of 20 lb (9 kg).
• Do not allow the storage po ch to interfere with the operation of the retractable head section.
• Always remove the battery if the cot is not going to be sed for an extended period of time (more than 24 ho rs).
• Always place the electrical SMRT charger power cord where it will not be stepped on, tripped over, or otherwise
s bjected to damage or stress.
• Do not to ch the SMRT Pak receptacle terminals with metal objects.

• Always grasp and p ll the pl g, not the cord, when yo disconnect the SMRT charger to avoid the risk of damage to
the electrical pl g and cord.
• Do not steam clean or ltrasonically clean the prod ct.
• Do not exceed 180 °F (82 °C) as the maxim m water temperat re.
• Do not exceed 1500 psi (130.5 bar) as the maxim m water press re. If yo are sing a hand held wand to wash the
prod ct, keep the press re nozzle at a minim m of 24 in. (61 cm) from the prod ct.
• Always allow to air dry.
• Always remove the battery before yo wash the cot.
• Do not clean, service, or perform maintenance while the prod ct is in se.
• Do not steam clean or ltrasonically clean the SMRT Pak.
• Always se a thorized parts to avoid the risk of prod ct damage.
• Always check hoses and lines reg larly to avoid damage to the cot. Check and tighten loose connections. Hydra lic
lines, hoses, and connections can fail or loosen d e to physical damage, kinks, age, and environment expos re.
• Do not tip the cot onto its load wheels and act ate the prod ct as this will allow air to enter the hydra lic system.
• The se of accessories, transd cers, and cables, other than those specified or provided by the man fact rer, co ld
res lt in increased electromagnetic emissions or decreased electromagnetic imm nity and res lt in improper
operation.
• The emissions characteristics of this eq ipment make it s itable for se in ind strial areas and hospitals (CISPR 11
class A). If it is sed in a residential environment, for which CISPR 11 class B is normally req ired, this eq ipment
might not offer adeq ate protection to radio freq ency comm nication services. The ser might need to take
mitigation meas res, s ch as relocating or reorienting the eq ipment.
• Avoid stacking or placing other eq ipment adjacent to Power-PRO and SMRT charger to prevent improper operation
of the prod cts. If s ch se is necessary, caref lly observe Power-PRO and SMRT charger and the other eq ipment
to make s re that they are operating properly.

Product description
The Stryker Model 6506 Power-PRO™XT cot is a powered amb lance cot that consists of a platform mo nted on a
wheeled X-frame designed to s pport and transport a maxim m weight of 700 lb (318 kg) in pre-hospital and hospital
environments.
The device is collapsible for se in emergency vehicles and has an adj stable load height feat re to allow the device to
be set to different amb lance deck heights for proper body mechanics d ring loading and nloading. The NiCd battery-
powered hydra lic lift system allows operators to raise and lower the cot sing the powered controls, while d plicate foot-
end controls on the pper and lower lift bars accommodate different operator positions or sizes. The cot is eq ipped with
a man al back- p release handle to allow the operation of cot f nctions in the event of power loss. The device is
eq ipped with a retractable head section for 360-degree mobility in any height position, side rails, patient sec rement
straps, an adj stable pne matic backrest, and vario s optional accessories that assist with the transport of a patient.
Maxim m patient comfort is attainable with the three different litter positions of shock, flat leg, and optional knee gatch
positioning.
The SMRT™power system consists of a SMRT charger and a SMRT Pak. The SMRT Pak powers the hydra lic lift
system of the Stryker powered amb lance cots.
Indications for use
The Stryker Power-PRO XT is a powered wheeled stretcher, which is intended to s pport and transport the entire body of
a tra matized, amb latory, or non-amb latory h man patient (incl des infants and ad lts).
The battery-powered hydra lic lift system is intended to help red ce the effort req ired by the operator to raise and lower
the cot. The device is designed to s pport patients in a s pine (horizontal) or sitting position and facilitate the
transportation of associated medical eq ipment (s ch as oxygen bottles, monitors, or p mps) in emergency or transport
vehicles. This amb lance cot is intended to be sed in pre-hospital and hospital environments, and in emergency and non-
emergency applications. It is rated to a maxim m capacity of 700 lb (318 kg) (s m of the patient, mattress, and
accessory weight) and the intended operators of the device are trained professionals incl ding emergency medical
service and medical care center personnel, as well as medical first responders.
Power-PRO XT is not intended for extended stay or se as a hospital bed or in devices that modify air press re, s ch as
hyperbaric chambers.
