Summary of safety precautions
Always read and strictly follow the warnings and ca tions listed on this page. Service only by q alified personnel.
CAUTION
• Improper sage of the prod ct can ca se inj ry to the patient or operator. Operate the prod ct only as described in
this man al.
• Do not modify the prod ct or any components of the prod ct. Modifying the prod ct can ca se npredictable
operation res lting in inj ry to patient or operator. Modifying the prod ct also voids its warranty.
• The se of accessories and cables, other than those specified, with the exception of cables that are sold by Stryker
as replacement parts for internal components, may res lt in increased emissions or decreased imm nity of the
Performance-LOAD system.
• Do not se the Performance-LOAD system and the Power-PRO cot adjacent to or stacked with other eq ipment. If
adjacent or stacked se is necessary, observe the Performance-LOAD system to confirm normal operation in the
config ration where it will be sed.
• Do not se portable RF comm nications eq ipment (incl ding peripherals s ch as antenna cables and external
antennas) no closer than 30 cm (12 in.) to any part of the Performance-LOAD system, incl ding cables specified by
the man fact rer. Otherwise, degradation of the performance of this eq ipment co ld res lt.
• The emissions characteristics of this eq ipment make it s itable for se in ind strial areas and hospitals (CISPR 11
class A). This eq ipment generates, ses, and can radiate radio freq ency energy and, if not installed and sed in
accordance with the instr ction man al, may ca se harmf l interference to radio comm nications. Operation of this
eq ipment in a residential area (for which CISPR 11 class B is normally req ired) is likely to ca se harmf l
interference in which case the ser will be req ired to correct the interference at their expense. In the event of
interference, please relocate or reorient the Performance-LOAD system or interfering prod ct.
• Do not clean, disinfect, service, or perform maintenance while the prod ct is in se.
• Always se any appropriate personal protective eq ipment, s ch as goggles or respirator, to avoid the risk of inhaling
contagion d ring cleaning. Use of power washing eq ipment can aerate contamination that collects d ring the se of
the prod ct.
• Always wipe with clean water and dry each prod ct after disinfecting. Some disinfectants are corrosive in nat re and
may ca se damage to the prod ct. If yo do not rinse and dry the prod ct, yo may leave a corrosive resid e on the
s rface of the prod ct. This corrosive resid e co ld ca se premat re degradation of critical components. Fail re to
follow these disinfecting instr ctions may void yo r warranty.

Product description
Performance-LOAD is a man al cot fastener designed to sec re compatible amb lance cots into a gro nd-based
transport vehicle for patient transportation p rposes and to allow for the insertion and removal of the compatible
amb lance cots.
When the compatible cot is sec red in the transport position, Performance-LOAD can ind ctively charge compatible
model amb lance cots with an ind ctive charging option. In the event of loss of charging, Performance-LOAD remains
f nctional for g iding into, sec ring within, and removing the cot from the vehicle.
Indications for use
Performance-LOAD is intended to g ide the loading and nloading of a compatible amb lance cot (wheeled stretcher) to
and from a gro nd-based transport vehicle and to sec re the amb lance cot d ring transport in a fastened position while
also providing an optional ind ctive charging platform for charge-compatible amb lance cots.
Expected service life
The Performance-LOAD cot fastener has a seven year expected service life nder normal se conditions and with
appropriate periodic maintenance.
Contraindications

Troubleshootin
Inductive char in system does not char e the cot battery
Ind ctive charging system does not charge the cot battery when yo load the cot into the fastener.
Note: Before yo service the cot, disconnect the vehicle’s battery starting with the negative lead.
1. Make s re that a SMRT Pak battery is sed on the cot and that the cot is eq ipped with ind ctive charging hardware.
2. Verify proper connection between the anchor-to-vehicle cable and the ind ctive primary board.
a. Check for 12.8V to 15.6V at the Performance-LOAD end of the anchor-to-vehicle cable (6390-001-1 35)
connection.
b. If present, contin e to step 3.
c. If not present, make s re that the vehicle meets the following electrical req irements: 12.8V - 15.6V, 15A
f se/breaker and two cond ctor 10 AWG cable.
3. Reattach the anchor-to-vehicle cable to the mating side of the ind ctive primary board.
Note: Make s re that like-colored wires are connected (red to red; black to black).
4. After making the connection, verify proper f nctionality as follows:
a. Load a Power-PRO cot (with a SMRT Pak battery) into the fastener, make s re that the Power-PRO battery
indicator is OFF prior to loading the cot into Performance-LOAD.
b. If the nit is f nctioning properly, the cot light panel orb will t rn on within five seconds of being loaded into
Performance-LOAD. The light indicates that the nit is receiving power and that the electrical installation is
correct and complete.
c. If the light panel orb does not t rn ON, check all connection points and replace the ind ctive coil and/or the
primary board.
