2.0 Use and operation
2.1 Intended use
•The TC-HS V2 is intended as a tool for screwing fasteners into
workpieces. The TC-HS V2 may only be used when the nose piece (4
Fig. 3) is mounted.
•To relieve the operator, the TC-HS V2 should be suspended in a
balancer or telescopic arm.
•For the intended use, please observe the technical data (see chapter
3.0 page 8) as well as the information on the cover sheet regarding
TC-HS V2, device, intermediate piece, mouthpiece and bit.
•Any other use of the TC-HS V2, e.g. for other screws, is considered
improper and may be dangerous.
•Do not work in an explosive environment.
•The TC-HS V2 is to be used in closed rooms, in which the devices
cannot heat up over 45 °C.
•Observance of these operating instructions is also part of the intended
use.

2.2 How it works
TC-HS V2 (see Fig. 4):
•Telescopic screwdriver (1)
•Mouthpiece (2)
•Cable conduit package (3)
Abb 3) TC-HS V2
An air blast transports the screw through the feed tube (9 in Fig 4) into the
nosepiece of the screwdriver. There the screw is held by two mouthpiece jaws
(9.1 in Fig4), which are closed by springs.
Abb 4) Screwdriver and mouthpiece
The screwdriver is guided by hand to the workpiece to be screwed so that the
screw is placed axially at the screw position.
As soon as axial pressure is applied to the TC-HS V2, the upper initiator in the
handpiece is activated and the start pulse is triggered. The spindle starts to
rotate and the screw is screwed into the workpiece with sufficient
counterpressure After the switch-off torque is reached, the spindle stops and

the screwing process is finished. As soon as the TC-HS V2 is retracted from
the workpiece, the cylinder automatically extends again, thus cancelling the
start impulse. After complete extension of the cylinder, the lower initiator of the
handpiece is activated, resulting in the feeding of another screw. The system is
ready for operation again.

4.0 Safety instructions
4.1 Organizational measures
The personnel in charge of the screwdriver operations must have
read the operating instructions before starting work, in particular
the chapter "Safety instructions". The instructions contained
therein must be strictly followed.
The operating
instructions must be kept accessible to the operating
personnel at all times.
The intervals for inspections specified in chapter 10.2, page 27 of these
operating instructions must be observed!
The environment of the screwdriver must be kept clean and tidy. Soiling and
obstruction of the function of the system as well as restrictions in the freedom
of movement of the operating personnel can lead to malfunctions and
accidents.
4.2 Personnel qualification
1. Personnel to be trained, instructed or undergoing training may only work
with the TC-HS V2 under the constant supervision of an experienced
person.
2. For work on pneumatics, the qualification of a technical education with
knowledge of pneumatics is required.
3. The qualification of a qualified electrician is required for work on the
electrical system.

4.3 Advice for your safety
To protect your own health and the health of your colleagues, observe the
following instructions:
Working with the screwdriver
1. Never point the screwdriver at yourself or against persons!
2. Never look into the mouthpiece of the screwdriver when it is ready for
operation. Risk of injury to the face!
If you need to work on the mouthpiece,
-Switch off the feeder module before starting work,
-Detach the feed hose from the screwdriver
-and disconnect the compressed air supply!
3. Only use the screwdriver if the housing is intact. Otherwise there is a risk of
breakage, because the housing is under pressure during operation!
4. Personal protective equipment - close-fitting work clothes and safety goggles
must be worn. Avoid open long hair or hanging jewellery. Hair or jewellery
could be wound up, causing you to injure yourself!
5. As a result of reaction forces, unexpected movements of the screwdriver can
occur, bit and screw can break and lead to injuries!
6. Ensure that you have a secure footing. Avoid abnormal posture and keep
your balance at all times!
7. Keep your hands out of the danger zone between the mouthpiece of the
screwdriver and the workpiece! Otherwise there is a risk of injury and
crushing!
8. Caution in cramped working conditions, due to reaction moments injuries
can occur by pinching or crushing!

TC - Hand Standard V2 Safety instructions
11
9. Never screw together workpieces that are under tension!
10. If the workpieces that you want to screw together can become
electrostatically charged, e.g. by a conveyor belt made of plastic, then
ensure equipotential bonding between the workpiece and the conveyor belt.
Otherwise there is a risk of electric shock!
Behaviour in an emergency
If an emergency occurs, immediately disconnect the power supply at the feeder
module or have it disconnected.
Behaviour after the
Emergency
After eliminating the emergency, proceed in the same way as for
commissioning in normal operation.

TC - Hand Standard V2 Set up and installation
12
5.0 Set up and installation
5.1 Mounting of the TC-HS V2 in the balancer or in the telescopic arm
The TC-HS V2 can be mounted in a balancer or telescopic arm.
You can obtain these fastening devices from Technik Center Schraubsysteme.
You will receive the assembly instructions with the delivery of the fastening
devices.
Technik Center Schraubsysteme recommends the fixed clamping of the TC-HS
V2 in a telescopic arm:
-with continuous operation of the screwdriver (8 h/day)
-for screwdrivers with a cut-off torque > 3 Nm.
This reduces the strain on the wrists and palms!
5.2 Connecting the cable conduit package

Finally, check all connections for tightness.
It is imperative that the feed hose is firmly attached to the mouthpiece
connection. If the feed tube is loose at this end, there is a risk of a screw
shooting out of the feed tube.
Pay attention when connecting the feed hose:
-to a minimum bending radius of 150 mm and
Make sure that the feed hose is not twisted by more than 180° in a length
of 500 mm (torsion angle ≤ 180°).
This reduces abrasion in the feed hose.

TC - Hand Standard V2 Preparations before initial commissioning
15
6.0 Preparations before initial commissioning
Check all connections of the cables and hoses of the cable conduit package for
tight fit.
Initial commissioning
or after maintenance work
During initial start-up or after maintenance work, a screw must first be fed to
the screwdriver. Proceed as follows:
1. Press the screw tip against a test piece.
2. Keep the telescopic screwdriver pressed until a screw is ticked off.
3. Pull back the telescopic screwdriver.
4. The feeder separated a screw and shot it into the mouthpiece of the
telescopic screwdriver.
The screw system is now ready for operation. If no screw has entered the
mouthpiece, repeat the procedure.
If there is still no screw in the mouthpiece, there is a fault in the screw feed
area.
