Keep your purchase receipt to enable you to proceed quickly in the event of a Warranty Service.
1.
TEAC warrants to the original retail purchaser only, that this product is free from defects in material and
workmanship under normal domestic use and authorises free service during the warranty period at any
TEAC Authorised Centre only. TEAC warranty only applies to products purchased, used and serviced in
Australia.
2.
Subject to the terms herein, this warranty effectively covers the equipment as specified in the Warranty
Periods Table from the date of purchase.
3.
All parts, except the external cabinet, are warranted as specified in Warranty Periods Table, and will be
repaired or replaced at the sole judgement of TEAC.
4.
Normal customer maintenance as described in the owner s manual is not covered by this warranty (such as
cleaning VCR heads etc.)
5.
This warranty does not apply to equipm ent showing abuse, damage or that it may have been tampered
with, altered or repaired outside any TEAC Authorised Service Centre. If so, the warranty will be void.

6. In the event that this unit or any defective parts must be returned to TEAC Service Centres, a copy of this
warranty certificate and of your purchase receipt must be enclosed to be a valid warranty. Such
equipment or parts must be sent to the nearest authorised TEAC Service Centre. After the repair, the unit
will be available for collection by the owner or it will be returned to the owner. The warranty does not
cover freight or insurance. In allcases of in-transit damages or loss, a claim must be filed against the
carrier by the purchaser.
7.
In home service will only be provided as part of this warranty if all the following conditions are m et;
a)
The productis a Colour Television of 51cm screen size or over.
b)
The product is within the warranty period.
c)
The product is located within the normal service area of the local TEAC Service Provider.
In any other situation or circumstance, where an in home service call is made, a service fee will be
charged by the Service Provider. TEAC Total Care in home service and installation is available at
competitive rates.
8.
No one is authorised to assume any liability on behalf of TEAC or impose any obligation on it, in
connection with the sale of any equipment other than as stated in this warranty and outlined above.
9.
In no event will TEAC be responsible or liable for indirect or consequentialdamages from interrupted
operations or other causes.
10.
W arranty is not transferable to any subsequent purchaser if the product is sold during the warranty period,

On Placement
•The apparatus shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing.
•Do not use the unit in places which are extremely hot, cold, dusty, or humid.
•Place the unit on a flat and even surface.
•Do not restrict the air flow of the unit by placing it in a place with poor air flow, by covering it with a cloth, or
by placing it on carpeting.
On Safety
•When connecting or disconnecting the AC cord, grip the plug and not the cord itself. Pulling the cord may
damage it and create a hazard.
•When you are not going to use the unit for a long period of time, disconnect the AC power cord.
On Condensation
•When left in a heated room where it is warm and damp, water droplets or condensation may form inside the
unit. When there is condensation inside the unit, the unit may not function normally. Let the unit stand for 1
to 2 hours before turning the power on, or gradually heat the room up and dry the unit before use.

•Should any trouble occur, disconnect the AC power cord and refer servicing to a qualified technician.
•Do not place anything directly on the top of the unit. Damage to the unit can result.

Information that is encoded on DVD discs. If the Region number printed on the DVD disc does not correspond
to the Region number of this unit, this unit cannot play that disc.
The region number of this unit is 4.
Disc Function or Operation that is Not Available
When the symbol appears on the TV screen, it indicates that the function or operation attempted is not
available at that time. This occurs because the DVD disc manufacturer determines the specific functions.
Certain functions may not be available on some discs. Be sure to read the documentation provided with the
disc.

Notes on Unauthorized Discs
You may not be able to play back some DVD discs on this unit if they were purchased from outside your
geographic area or made for business purposes.
Title, Chapter and Tracks
•DVDs are divided into “titles” and “chapters”. If the
disc has more than one movie on it, each movie would
be aseparate “title”. “Chapters” are sections of titles.
•Audio CDs are divided into “tracks”. A “track” is
usually one song on an Audio CD.
Note :
•Numbers identify each title, chapter, and track on a disc. Most discs have these numbers recorded on them,
but some do not.

Notes:
•This unit supports 2-channel (L/R) audio and 5.1ch (Multi-channel) MPEG Audio 1/2 (only when the DIGITAL
AUDIO OUT coaxial jack is used for connection). It does not support 7.1 channel MPEG Audio Version 2.0.
•When playing back a CD-G (Graphics) or CD EXTRA disc, the audio portion will be played, but the graphic
images will not be shown.

BeforeYou Start
To install Batteries
1.Open the battery door.
Battery Replacement
When batteries become weak, the operating distance of the Remote Control is greatly reduced and you will
need to replace the batteries.
Notes:
• If the Remote Control is not going to be used for a long time, remove the batteries to avoid damage caused
by battery leakage corrosion.
• Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix ALKALINE, standard (CARBON-ZINC) or rechargeable
(NICKEL-CADMIUM) batteries.
2.Insert two "AA" or UM-3 size batteries.
Using the Remote Control
• Point the Remote Control at the REMOTE SENSOR located on the Unit.
• When there is a strong ambient light source, the performance of the infrared REMOTE SENSOR may be
degraded, causing unreliable operation.
• The recommended effective distance for remote operation is about 16 feet (5 meters).

1) 5 Disc tray
Open or close tray by pushing OPEN/CLOSE
button. Place discs on the disc trays, label side up.
2) STANDBY indicator
When the Unit is turned on by pressing the
STANDBY/ON button. If you press the STANDBY/
ONbuttonontheremotecontrol,theUnitwillturnoff
andgo into standby mode. The light will continue to
illuminate.
3) STANDBY/ON button
Turn the power on or off.
4) FUNCTIONbutton
Select the source.
5) STOP/BAND button
Stop playing a disc./Switch between AM or FM.
6) PLAY/PRESETbutton
Press to start or resume playback. / Preset Tuner
memory up.
7) SKIP/TUNING buttons
InDVDmode,pressSKIP/TUNING buttontogo
back to previous chapters/tracks.
In DVD mode, press SKIP/TUNING button to
begin fast scan.
In FM or MW mode, press and hold SKIP/
TUNING button to begin fast scan. Four speeds
are available. Scan all available radio stations.

connected to the Unit.
9) Remote sensor
Receive the remote control unit signals.
10) DIGITALindicator
When DOLBY DIGITAL sound is selected, the light
will illuminate.
11) PROLOGIC indicator
WhenDOLBYPROLOGIC soundisselected,the
light will illuminate.
NOTE:
The DOLBY PRO LOGIC indicator may turn on
evenwhenthisfeatureisnotselected,whileplaying
certain DVD titles. This is not a malfunction of the
unit.

Display system information.
13) DISC SKIP button
To change next available disc.
14) OPEN/CLOSEbutton
Use to open and close the disc tray.

1) STANDBY / ON button
Turns the Unit on and puts it in standby mode.
2) RETURN button
Return to the normal operation after using the SETUP
menu.
3) Number (0 - 9) and (+10) buttons
Use when creating programs, and to select numbers
over 9, press +10 button and then the second no. for
example,toenter18,press+10andthen8.
4) 5.1 / 2.1 CHANNELS button
Switch speaker output to 5.1 channel mode. (All
speakers + subwoofer)
Switch speaker outputs to 2.1 channel. (Front left/right
speakers + subwoofer)
5) MEMORYbutton
Enter the number of a selected chapter or track.
Enter the number of a selected station.
6) DIMMERbutton
Turns the display backlight ON nad OFF.
7) PRO LOGIC button
In AV_IN mode, switches to Dolby Pro Logic mode for
VHS tapes encoded with Dolby Pro Logic.
8) VOLUME (+ / -) buttons
Adjust the volume.
9) SETUPbutton
Selects the SETUP menu screen.
10) / CURSOR buttons
Use to highlight selections on a menu screen and
adjust certain settings.
11) SLOWbutton
Perform slow reverse playback of DVDs.
12) TUNING buttons
:Fast reverse playback.
:Fast forward playback.
TUNING : Scan all available radio stations.

Stop playback.

Move reverse through titles, chapters or tracks on a

Tune to the presetted stations.

Switch the camera angle of the video presentation
