Before using this unit, be sure to read the app!!cable Items of operating instructions and these safety suggestions carefully.
Afterwards keep them handy for future reference, take special care to follow the warnings indicated on the unit Itself as well
as in the operating instructions.
1. Avoid places where there is water or humidity.
Do not usethisunitnearabathtub.washbasin,swimming
pool, or the like. Damp basements should also be
avoided.
2. Don’t allow water or any toreign object to get

Don't place small metal objects or anything containing
liquid on or near the unit.

Placement
Place the unit on astable, vibration-free, level shelf or
stand.
6. Use of acart or stand
When deciding on acart or stand, be sure to follow the
r e c o m m e n d a t i o n s f o r t h i s u n i t i n t h e o p e r a t i n g
instructions.
7. Wall or ceiling installation
If the unit is to be mounted on awall or ceiling, be sure to
do so only as recommended in ttie operating instructions.
8Ctieck the voltage rating of this unit before
connecting the unit to apower supply.
Be sure to connect the unit only to the type of power
supply indicated in the operating instructions, or as
indicated on the unit itself.
Care of the power cord and plug
fake care ttiat the cord is not bent sharply (especially
near its connection to the unit or near the plug), that
nothing is placed on it, and that it is not pinctied or
crushed. Never take hold of the plug or cord if your tiand
is wet, and always be sure to grasp the plug body when
connecting or disconnecting it.
10. If the unit will not be used for along period of time:
Be sure to disconnect the power cord.
11. Never attempt repairs yourself:
(a) If the power cord or plug is damaged,
(b) If aforeign object or liquid falls into the unit,
(c) If the unit is exposed to rain,
(d) If the unit does not function normally, or if operation
shows an unusual change.

Amplifier location of this unit and other stereo equipment
If this unit is placed near astereo amplifier or tuner, a"HUM" noise
may be heard during tape playback or during AM reception of the
tuner. If tills occurs, leave as much space as poss!ble between ttie
units or place ttiem where there is the least amount of HUM.

convenient if tape counter numbers are noted during recording.

■Noise-reductlon system
This system functions to reduce the annoying ”hiss” noise in tapes,
this unit uses the Dolby Btype of noisereductlon system. When
the recording is made, the level of high-freguency signals is raised,
and then this level is lowered during playback, thus effectively
reducing high-freguency noise and expanding the dynamic range.

the tape will be rewound while the button is pressed, and will
resume playback when the button is release.

The numbers which you should use as aguide for ttie adjustment
of the tape level will differ depending upon the type of tape used
as well as the position of the noise-reduction switch.
When arecording is made, any sounds previously recorded on
tfiat portion of the tape are erased, and only the new recording
remains. To erase recorded sounds without making anew
recording, proceed as follows.
$Before erasing, set the dubbing/mixing selector to the ".off"
position, and disconnect the microphone, if one IS connected.

1) Insert ttie cassette into the tape holder.
2) Switcli on the power supply In accordance with the
procedure for tape operation described, and then press
ttie play button. The surface of the heads will be cleanecf in
afew seconds.

Ttie head assembly should be demagnetized after about each 50
hours of use in order to maintain good sound guality.
Ttie Itead assembly becomes magnetized, causing noise in
recordings and unwanted erasure of valuable recordings, if a
magnetized screwdriver or ottier metal tools come near the head
assembly, and when the heads have been used for along period
of time.
If the heads become magnetized, use ahead demagnetizer
(option).

mine if the problem can be solved as described below. If the
problem still persists after making ttiese checks, or if ttiere are
symptoms of malfunction not described in this table, it is recom-
