Model 010-9401-0401, DSX-1 Installation
1.1 Overview
The DSX-3 TeleMIX/9400 Series Module mounts into any of Telect’s TeleMIX/4000 Series DSX-1
Front Cross-Connect chassis. It is packaged in a single shipping carton and comes with a
magnetic designation strip. Please read these instructions entirely prior to installation.
Inspect the equipment after unpacking. Immediately report any shipping damage, defects, or
missing parts to Telect at 1-800-551-4567. Keep all documentation that comes with your
shipment.
CAUTION! To avoid contacting the rear power-cable tie-downs on the chassis when in-
stalling the TeleMIX/9400 Series Module, please follow these instructions carefully.
NOTE: If you install the module in the far-right position of the TeleMIX/4000 Series chassis,
provide adequate clearance between the power cable connections and the back of the module.
1. Place the alignment guides on the bottom of the module into the appropriate module position-
ing slots on the front-chassis module support.
2. Hold the module in a nearly vertical position, and push it into the chassis until the bottom of
the module latches into the module support and the module securing clip contacts the chas-
sis.
3. Secure the module in the chassis by rotating the module toward the chassis until the module
snaps in place and is flush with the TeleMIX/4000 Series DSX-1 modules.
LED power and ground are provided automatically to the module by the chassis PCB when the module is
in position.
1.2 Removing the Module
Push down on the top securing clip and rotate the module away from the chassis.
1.3 Cross-connecting the Module
1. Identify and terminate the IN and OUT cables on each module’s IN/OUT BNC connectors.

a. Connect IN cross-connect (IX) of the first module to OUT cross-connect (OX) of the other
module.
b. Connect OUT cross-connect (OX) of the first module to IN cross-connect (IX) of the other
module.
