The TERAOhmmeterTOM-600 issuitableverywell forthemobileuseinindustrialareasthrough its
compacthousingandthrough thebatterypower. It canalsobeusedstationarywithaplugpowersupply.
Important: Don tusetheAC-Adapterwithoutinstalledrechargeablebatteries.
The TOM-600 ismenu-controlled,hasonlytwobuttonsandsoit isveryoperator-friendly.
All parametersareshownatthe LC-Display.
The includedPC-Softwareisforremotecontrolledusage, andadditionallymeasuringresultscanbe
administeredandprocessed.
The TOM-600 workswiththevoltage –current measure-principle.
Tothe transactionsof themeasurementsanusesoftied-upNorm DINEN61340/ EOS-ESD4.1/6.1the
measuring timecan beselectedwiththeinternaltimer.
At Timer=ONthemeasurement valuesinclusivethe airparameterscanbestoredintheinternalEEPROM.
Theydon’taredeletedbyswitchingoff theunit. The valuescan beread out troughthePC-Interfaceatall
times.
Since theresistance valuesdepend verystronglyon theHumidityand theairtemperature,
theseinfluencesaremeasuredtogetherwiththeresistance value.
Soareproduciblemeasurementisgiven.
2.1StartOperation
The TERA OhmmeterTOM600 isdeliveredwith4xMignon(AA)NiMH –Batteries, andisdirectlyready
tostart. Forcharging thebatteriesand stationaryoperationusetheenclosedplugpowersupplyonly.
lThe electrodesareconnectedtothecorrespondingsockets(s. legend)andplaceontheprobe.
lDuring themeasurement of veryhigh-ohm-resistorsistobekeptthatno influenceeffect ishappenon
themeasureinput.

2.2Charging theNiMHBattery
The TOM600allowed onlytooperatingdirectlywiththeenclosed powersupply. Alsoonlywiththesethe
installedNiMH –batteriescanbecharged.Connect thepowersupplytotheintegratedsocket,and connect
theplugpowersupplytoapowersocket. If theapplianceisswitchedoff, andthechargingworkcorrect, the
greenChargeLEDshines.
The NiMH-batteriesarecompletlychargedaftermaximumof 14hoursand goodfor> 10 hours
continuousoperation. Alongerchargingtimecandammage thebatteries.
2.3MeasureRangeandMeasureVoltage
The TOM600hasanautomaticrangingapprovethe wholeresistorrange. The appliance, accordinglythe
measureresistance,selectstheMeasurevoltage automatically.
