TS089 DESKTOP RFID READER
QUICKSTART GUIDE
HOW IT WORKS
USB READER
• For Windows 10 operating systems, no
driver is required. If using a system other
than Windows 10, call Terso Support for
instructions.
The TS089 is primarily used for RFID
tagged product association. When an
RFID tag is placed into the read eld
of the TS089, the tag is read by the
device and the EPC is transmitted into a
software application, such as OnSight.
The device helps eliminate human error
that occurs when manually typing a
24-character number into your software.
THE BASICS
HI, THERE
If you’re reading this, you are in
possession of the TS089 Desktop RFID
Reader, a compact device that easily
reads and transmits RFID Electronic
Product Codes (EPCs) into keyboard
strokes.
Use this quickstart guide to help you get
started.
• The TS089 does not require an external
power supply. A host PC transmits power
through a USB cable to power on the
reader.
• When you connect the TS089 USB
cable to a host PC, the device will be
detected as a Human Interface Device
(HID) keyboard wedge.
• Management of the reader is not
supported through the keyboard
interface.
NOTE: The green LED stops flashing
when reading is suspended. The output
from the HID port may continue if tags
have been read, but the data has not yet
transferred via the interface.

indicate the read state of the device.

TROUBLESHOOTING
USB CONNECTION
1. Inspect the USB port for dust or
debris; remove or clean out port
2. Restart your computer
3. Try plugging the TS089 into a
different USB port on your computer
4. Plug the TS089 device into a different
computer
5. Try plugging in a different USB
device; i.e. USB storage ‘thumb drive’
and see if it works
6. Try a different text editor, such as
Notepad
