Quick Release Nose Equipment
(Spanner flats on the Quick Release Nose Casing (item 7) and Nose Case Adaptor (item 5) should be aligned.)
1. Rotate the Quick Release Nose Casing (item 7) through 90°. Pull Casing out of the Nose Case Adaptor (item 5).
2. The Nose Equipment Cartridge (item 9) is removed by sliding in a plane normal to the Piston (G3 - 71220-02121 / G4 - 71230-
02120).
TO REPLACE THE NOSE CASING
1. Align the spanner flats on the Quick Release Nose Casing (item 7) with the flats on the Nose Case Adaptor (item 5).
2. Push the Quick Release Nose Casing (item 7) into the Nose Case Adaptor Assembly (items 2, 3, 4, 5 and 8).
TO ASSEMBLE QUICK RELEASE NOSE EQUIPMENT TO G3/4 TOOLS (71220/71230-02000)
(Refer to 71220-02000s / 71230-02000s Drawings or G3 / G4 Instruction Manuals.)
1. Remove all Nose equipment.
2. Remove Jaw Spreader Housing (71210-02101).
3. Replace with 'T' Adaptor (item 6) and 'O' Ring (item 1). The 'T' Adapator (item 6) is assembled onto the Piston (G3 - 71220-
02121 / G4 - 71230-02120) through the Nose Case Adaptor Assembly (items 2, 3, 4, 5 and 8).
4. Tighten 'T' Adaptor (item 6) fully onto the Piston (G3 - 71220-02121 / G4 - 71230-02120) before tightening the Locknut (G3 -
71210-02103 / G4 - 71230-02015) against it.
5. Screw the Nose Case Adaptor Assembly (items 2, 3, 4, 5 and 8) onto the front of the tool.
6. The Nose Equipment Cartridge (item 9) is assembled onto the 'T' Adaptor (item 6) by sliding in a plane normal to the Piston (G3 -
71220-02121 / G4 - 71230-02120).
7. Align the spanner flats on the Quick Release Nose Casing (item 7) with the flats on the Nose Case Adaptor (item 5).
8. Push the Quick Release Nose Casing (item 7) into the Nose Case Adaptor Assembly (items 2, 3, 4, 5 and 8).
