1 - INSTALLING THE CAMERA
• Mountthecamerasusingscrewsandplugsadaptedtothetypeofsupport(thescrewsandplugs
supplied are suitable for solid walls).
• Makesurethecameraisproperlysecuredtopreventitfromfalling.
2 - CONNECTING THE CAMERA
• Connectthenetworkcabletoamodem/router.Inmostcases,thecameraisimmediatelydetectedby
themodem/router,whichgrantsitaccesstotheInternet.Afterafewseconds,theindicatorledatthe
frontofthecamerashouldstayoncontinuousred,indicatingthattheInternetconnectionhasbeen
successfully established. The blue LED should come on (flashing or constant).
Note:awiredconnectioniscompulsorywhenstartingup,evenifyouwishtouseawiconnectionlater.

1 - OVERVIEW
TheThomsonWiMega-pixelIPcameraisavideo
surveillance camera on computer or smart phone,
extremely easy to install and congure. Its high-
resolution optical sensors help obtain a sharp and
detailedimage inall circumstances,atany timeof
the day or night.
Very easy to install with its 360° adjustable mount
(fasteningscrewssupplied),thecameracanbefree
standingormountedontothewall,ceilingetc.
It is equipped with an integrated microphone, an
indicator light (possibility of deactivating this light for
less conspicuous use) and a loudspeaker which can
issue an audible alert at your request or as scheduled.
Each camera has its own unique ID and password
(supplied),essential for displayinga camera (noIP
addressorothercomplexconguration).
Facilitates the viewing of up to 36 IP cameras
simultaneously from a PC connected to the Internet.
Possibility of a doing a live screenshot (in jpg format)
of the image of a camera.
Possibility of launching a live recording (on the hard
drive of the PC where the software is launched) and
programming weekly, occasional recordings etc.
Possibility of programming recordings by motion
detection.
The software supplied is equipped with a special
integrated player for replaying the videos recorded.
2 - INSTALLING THE SOFTWARE ON THE
COMPUTER
Insert the installation CD supplied in a drive (only
Windows is currently supported).
Launch the CamView installation
(CamViewInstaller-xxx.exe le on the CD, where
xxx is the software version).
Once the installation has been completed, two
icons appear on the desktop: CamView (main
programme) and CamPlay (to play and use the
camera recordings).
3 - ACCESS TO CAMERA CONFIGURATION
The configuration of the software integrated
into the camera itself is easily accessible from a
computer located within the same local network.
This conguration can only be executed on a web
browser capable of using ActiveX controls (typically:
InternetExplorer).
To opentheconguration page,launchCamView,
then right click on the camera ID which appears in
the "Recherche Auto" (Auto Search) area:
In the pop-up menu, select "Configuration web"
(Web configuration). The default internet browser is
launched and a login window opens:
The default user name is "admin". There is no default
password; leave the entry area blank and click on
"OK" to open the configuration page:

4.1 - Réseau (Network) Menu
n4.1.1 - Réseau (Network)
In this menu, you can manually congure the
camera's wired network parameters.
By default, the camera asks the modem/router
which configuration to adopt.
Once the settings have been modied, click on
"Sauvegarder et appliquer" (Save and apply) to
validate the configuration entered.
n4.1.2 - Sécurité Wi-Fi (Wifi security)
In this menu, you can congure access to the
wireless network.
• Click on "Activer WiFi" (Activate WiFi) to
activate the wireless connection.
• Enterthename of the desirednetwork inthe
SSID field.
• On the "Mode de sécurité" (Security mode)
line,selectthetypeofkeyused:WEPorWPA.
• Selecttheencryptionusedandenterthekey.
You can launch a test of the parameters entered by
clicking on the "Test Wi-Fi" (Wifi Test) button. The
test takes approximately 15s. The wired network
cable must stay connected for the entire duration
of the test.
You can also click on "Scan wifi" (Wifi scan) to
reveal the name of the networks within range of the
camera.
ToactivateandusetheWiconnectionestablished,
disconnect the network cable.
Important note: Even if the parameters entered are
validandtheWiconnectionhasbeenestablished,
the wired connection is used as long as a cable is
connected to the network outlet at the back of the
camera.
n4.1.3 - Avancé (Advanced)
It is possible to activate the support of the PPPoE
protocol (Point to Point Protocol over Ethernet) to
obtain an IP address.
Once the settings have been modied, click on
"Sauvegarder et appliquer" (Save and apply) to
validate the configuration entered.
4.2 - Vidéo (Video) Menu
n4.2.1 - Afficher (Display)
The camera's current image can be directly
displayed on this page.
1 Information (Information): displays current
parameters.
2 Réseau (Network): gives access to the
camera's manual network configuration.
3 Vidéo (Video): gives access to the
parameters relating to the camera's image.
4 Programmation (Programming): gives
access to the programming of recordings.
5 Admin (Admin): gives access to the
camera'sadministrationfunctions(date/time,
passwords etc.).

n4.2.2 - Param vidéo (Video param.)
On this page, you can modify the camera's video
settings during Internet usage (e.g. via CamView).
• To modify the video password requested by
CamView during the camera display, enter the
desired password in "Mot de passe (vidéo)"
(password (video)) (the default password is
indicated on the card included in the kit).
• To select the maximum camera transmission
speed,chooseoneofthespeedsavailableonthe
"Débit Internet" (Internet speed) list. The setting
to be adopted depends on the upload speed
of the Internet connection to which the camera
is connected. It is advisable not to exceed the
maximumconnectionspeed.
• To automatically nd the best compromise
between image uidity and quality, select
"Compromis auto fluidité/qualité d’image"
(Automatic image fluidity/quality compromise).
Then decide whether the camera should prioritise
image quality or fluidity on the "Priorité" (Priority)
list. Alternatively, to adjust everything manually,
select "Utiliser les valeurs suivantes" (Use the
following values) and set every parameter to the
desired value.
Once the settings have been modied, click on
"Sauvegarder et appliquer" (Save and apply) to
validate the configuration entered.
n4.2.3 - Vidéo mobile (Mobile video)
On this page, you can make all the adjustments
concerning use from a compatible mobile phone or a
mediaplayer(e.g.boxintegratedintoapersonalWeb
page).
• To select the maximum camera transmission
speed,chooseoneofthespeedsavailableonthe
"Débit Internet" (Internet speed) list. The setting
to be adopted depends on the upload speed
of the Internet connection to which the camera
is connected. It is advisable not to exceed the
maximumconnectionspeed.
• To automatically nd the best compromise
between image uidity and quality, select

for use via mobile phone or media player; they
are independent from those featured on the
"Param vidéo" (Video param.) page (see above).
n4.2.4 - Mode nuit (Night mode)
On this page, you can choose whether or not to
activate the night lighting and select how to activate
the night lighting and lens.
• Select "Bascule jour/nuit auto" (Auto day/
night mode switch) so that the camera can
automatically activate the infrared illumination
according to the ambient brightness detected.
• Select "Heure prédéfinie" (Preset time) and
indicate a time slot to start and stop night lighting
at specific times.
• Select "Contrôle manuel" (Manual control) to
force night lighting on or off. Then select "Jour"
(Day) or "Nuit" (Night) to activate/deactivate.
• The"Etat actuel" (Current status) line indicates
whether the night lighting and lens are currently
on.
Once the settings have been modied, click on
"Sauvegarder et appliquer" (Save and apply) to
validate the configuration entered.
4.3 - Programmation (Programming) Menu
n4.3.1 - Alerte email/ftp (Email/ftp alert)
On this page, you can congure email alerts or the
online uploading of screenshots to an FTP server.
• To activate alerts and recordings following the
detection of a motion in the camera's image,
select "Mouvement" (Motion). To activate alerts
andrecordingswiththeinfrareddetector,select
"PIR". To activate alerts and recordings at a preset
time, select "Programmation" (Programming).
To deactivate alerts and recordings, click on
"Désactivé" (Deactivated).
• If alerts are activated, choose the detection
sensitivity on the "Sensibilité détection"
(Detection sensitivity) list.
• If alerts are activated, choose whether the
alerts will be issued in the form of emails or
online uploading of screenshots to ftp server
(or both) by ticking the corresponding option.

• To congure email alerts, two addresses
are needed: one which will be used by the
camera to send alerts (sender's address,
receive the alerts (recipient's address, e.g.
monadresse@Y.com). Successively enter the
recipient's email address, the sender's smtp
server,thesender'ssmtpport(bydefault25),
the ID and password corresponding with the
sender's address.

(Note: X.com and Y.com can be identical)
Important note:
• Because of unsolicited email ltering, your
modem/router may block the alerts issued
by the camera. To avoid this possibility, it
is advisable to create the sender's address
with your Internet service provider and use
its smtp server. The smtp server used must
imperatively support the authenticated
unsecured smtp connection (without SSL/
TLSencryption,whichisthecaseforthevast
majority of Internet service providers). Contact
your network administrator or Internet service
provider for further information.
Once the settings have been modied, click on
"Sauvegarder et appliquer" (Save and apply) to
validate the configuration entered. It is also possible
to test the address of the smtp server if it has been
indicated, by clicking on "Test serveur smtp"
(smtp server test).
Note: the smtp server test does not take into
account whether or not the TLS or SSL encryption
is supported. It is the user's responsibility to check
the compatibility of the server used.
To configure the online uploading of screenshots
to ftp servers, enter the address of the desired
ftp server, the ID, password and possibly the
name of the sub-folder in which you wish to save
the videos which will be filmed by the camera.
Once the settings have been modied, click on
"Sauvegarder et appliquer" (Save and apply) to
validate the configuration entered.
n4.3.2 - Param NAS (NAS param.)
Onthis page,you cancongurethe recordingon
NAS server (Network Attached Storage).
• To activate continuous NAS recording, select
"Enregistrement continu" (Continuous
recording). To activate the recording
programmedonNAS,select"Enregistrement
programmé" (Programmed recording). To
deactivateNASrecording,select"Désactiver"
(Deactivate).
• Youcanspecify thedurationpriortodeleting
videos, so as not to saturate the hard drive
and to keep a specified recording time.
• You can specify minimum free space in the
NAS and decide how the device will perform
in the event of insufficient disk space:
"Recyclage enregistrement" (Record
recycling) (overwriting of the oldest stored
videos) or "Arrêter l’enregistrement" (Stop
recording) (recordings are stopped until the
user frees up space on the NAS).
• Thenenterthenameofthenetworkoraddress
oftheNASserver,theloginandcorresponding
password.
• If your hardware is compatible, you can also
search for NAS servers accessible on the
network, by clicking on "Scan NAS" (NAS
Scan).

n4.3.3 - Carte SD (SD card)
Recordings on microSD card are configured here.
The camera supports microSD and microSDHC
cards with a maximum 16GB capacity. For
information purposes, one hour of continuous
recording represents approximately 150MB.
Recordings are segmented into sections of 5mn
maximum.
• To continuously record on the card, select
"Enregistrement continu" (Continuous
recording). To specify recording time slots,
select "Enreg. programmé" (Programmed
recordings). To disable the recording function
on memory card, select "Désactiver"
(Deactivate).
• You can choose what the camera does
if the card inserted is full. If you select
"Enregistrement cyclique" (Cyclic recording)
whenthecardisfull,theoldestvideoswillbe
overwritten by more recent ones. By selecting
"Arrêter l’enregistrement"(Stoprecording),
the recordings will be stopped until memory
space is made available on the card.
• Click on the "Fichiers de la carte SD" (SD
card files) button to access the content of the
memory card and download or delete the video
sequences recorded. Videos are recorded in
.crf format and can be played and converted
using the CamPlay software supplied.
n4.3.4 - Programmation (Programming)
Onthispage,youcanprogrammethestart
and stop of ftp and email alerts or NAS server
recording. These operations can be programmed
on a daily or weekly basis or on a given date.
Toenableprogramming,youmustinitiallyselect
initiation by "Programmation" (programming) on
the "Alerte email/ftp"(Email/ftpalert),"Param
NAS" (NAS param.) and/or "Carte SD" (SD card)
configuration pages (see above).
Example:
You wish to be notified by email of motion
detected by the camera from 10.00am
to12.00pmonMondays,Tuesdaysand
Wednesdays.
• In the "Alerte email/ftp" (Email/ftp alert)
menu, authorise programmed email alerts
by ticking "planning" (schedule) in the
"déclenchement Email/FTP" (Email/FTP
initiation) line.
• In the "Programmation" (Programming)
menu, activate programmed alerts by ticking
"Alerte email/ftp" (Email/ftp alert).
• Tick "chaque semaine" (every week), then
"Lun"(Mon),"Mar" (Tue) and "Mer" (Wed).
• Thenselectthedesiredtimeslot:"10": "00" for
thestartingtime,"12": "00" for the end time.
• Thenclickonthe"Ajouter la prog" (Add prog)
button to validate and add the programme to
those already stored in memory.

The camera will monitor the image on screen from
10.00amto12.00pmeveryMonday,Tuesdayand
Wednesday,andsendanemailalertwheneverany
motion is detected during this period.
4.4 - Admin Menu
n4.4.1 - Identifiant admin (Admin ID)
Onthispage,youcanchangetheIDandpassword
giving access to the camera's configuration. You
can also change the number of the port used (by
default: 80). This can be useful if there is a web
server on the same network as the camera.
n4.4.2 - Led de contrôle (Control LED)
Onthispage,youcanactivateordisablethetwo
indicator lights at the front of the camera. You
can also activate the indicator lights only when
connecting the camera and disable them once the
linktotheInternethasbeencompleted,soasto
make the camera less conspicuous.
n4.4.3 - Date/heure (Date/time)
Likeacomputer,thecameraqueriesanntpserver
to remain on time. The time zone is selected and
the camera automatically updates its time and
date. The camera manages the time changes.
n4.4.4 - Mise à jour (Update)
Onthispage,youcanupdatethecamera'sinternal
software (firmware). You can choose the firmware
file on the computer or on an ftp server.
n4.4.5 - Redémarrage (Restart)
The camera can be relaunched remotely and a
complete start-up can be activated by clicking on
this button. All open connections will be terminated
and the camera restarts. This restart corresponds
with the interruption and restoration of the
camera's power supply; it does not constitute a
return to factory settings.
4.5 - Langue (Language) Menu
This list helps select the display language of
the camera's configuration. Select the desired
language from the list to change the current
languagewithimmediateeffect,withouthavingto
restart.
5 - RESTORING FACTORY SETTINGS
Ifthecamera'sID/passwordislost,thecamera
can be completely reset by holding down the
"RST" key located underneath the camera for
approximatelytenseconds.
Warning: The camera password (video password
featured on the card supplied in the kit) will be
replaced by "ipcam". It is up to you to reinstate
the correct password by going to the camera
configuration.

The image of the cameras appears after a few
seconds.Ifthecamerasoundisactivated,youcan
also hear the sound of the active camera (yellow
strip at the top of the window):
CamViewincludesviewing,screenshotandvideo
recording functions. The computer onto which you
have installed the software can therefore record
and store video recordings of the image of one or
several cameras.
Launch the CamView application and go to
Options to adjust the recording functions:
The configuration window opens:
Click on "Change" to change the storage folder;
click on "Open" to view the content of the
selected folder.
Click on "OK" to validate the modifications.
2.1 - Taking a photo
To take a screenshot of one of the cameras
displayedonscreen,clickontheiconatthetop
right of the window:
2.2 - Recording
To launch (or stop) the recording of one of the
camerasdisplayedonscreen,clickonthe
corresponding icon at the top right of the window:
• Theiconturnsredduringrecording.Clickon
the icon again to stop recording.
• Thevideoissavedonthecomputer'shard
drive,inthefolderselectedforvideos.The
video is stored in a folder which features the
name of the camera and the date on which
the screenshot was taken.

2.3 - Replay a recording
To launch the player and replay a recorded
video,clickontheCamPlay icon from the main
CamView window:
The player opens and the content of the
screenshot and video folders appears:
• Adoubleclicklaunchestheplaybackofale.
• Youcanalsoconverttherecordedvideosto
.avi format so as to play and use them with
software other than CamPlay. To convert a
le,rightclickonitandselect"Conversion
en .avi" (.avi conversion). The video created
is saved in the same folder as the original
video.

Onceyouhaveinstalledyourhardware,youcan
create an account free of charge on the
http://mycameras.thomsonsecurity.eu website and
therefore:
• Accesstheimageinrealtimeforany
computer connected to the Internet.
• Benetfromanonlinestorageareaforthe
screenshots taken.
• Congureemailorsmsalertswhenthe
cameras are initiated.
Note: live viewing only works with the "Internet
Explorer" browser (other browsers are not
currently compatible).

4 - USE WITH A SMART PHONE OR TABLET
A version of CamView is available for mobile
phones. You can currently consult the image of the
camerasusingasmartphoneorAndroidtablet,an
iPhone,iPadoriPod.
The application to be downloaded and used is
called mCamView and is available in the App
Store and on Google Play.
Onceyouhavedownloadedtheapplication,all
youneedisanInternetconnection,yourcamera's
CamID and password to access its image from
wherever you are.

Ifyourproblemisnotcoveredbelow,pleasecontactourtechnicalsupportdepartment.
Symptoms Possible causes Solutions
The camera's red LED is
flashing/off (no Internet
connection).
The camera indicates "mauvais
mot de passe" (wrong
password) when you enter the
ID and password supplied.
Poor quality or shaky image.
Motion detection accidentally
triggers recordings.
The adapter is not connected
to the mains/the adapter is not
connected to the camera.
The camera password has been
modified.
The camera transmission speed
is incorrectly adjusted.
The camera has been reset via
the "RESET" key underneath the
camera.
The camera's quality and fluidity
settings are incorrect.
Triggering sensitivity is too high.
The camera is not linked to the
Internet.
The indicator LEDs at the front
are deactivated.
Check that all power supply
cables are correctly connected.
Use the new password. If the
passwordhasbeenlost,reset
the camera.
Adjust the camera transmission
speed to correspond with your
Internet connection (see section
"4.2 - Menu Vidéo" (Video
menu) of this guide).
Furthertoareset,thedefault
password is "ipcam". It is up to
you to change it later.
Adjust your camera's fluidity and
resolution (see section "4.2 -
Menu Vidéo" (Video Menu) of
this guide).
Reduce your camera's
triggering sensitivity (see section
"4.3.4 - Programmation"
(Programming) of this guide).
Check that your camera's wired
connection or Wifi configuration
is correct.
Activate the LEDs at the front
of the camera in the camera's
configuration (see section "4.4 -
Admin. Menu" of this guide).
