II.Preparation
1.Useappliancesonlywithspecicallydesignatedbatterypacks.
Usingothertypesofbatterypacksmaycreateariskofinjuryand/or
re.
2.Donotuseadamagedormodiedbatterypackorbatterycharger.
Itmayexhibitunpredictablebehavior,resultinginre,explosion,
orriskofinjury.
3.Ifthesupplycordtothebatterychargerisdamaged,contactan
AuthorizedServiceDealertoreplaceit.
III.Operation
1.Chargethebatterypackwithonlythebatterychargerspeciedby
Toro.Achargersuitablefor1typeofbatterypackmaycreatearisk
ofrewhenusedwithanotherbatterypack.

2.Chargethebatterypackinawell-ventilatedareaonly.
3.Followallcharginginstructionsanddonotchargethebatterypack
outsideofthetemperaturerangespeciedintheinstructions.
Otherwise,youmaydamagethebatterypackandincreasetherisk
ofre.
4.Underabusiveconditions,thebatterypackmayejectliquid;avoid
contact.Ifyouaccidentlycomeintocontactwiththeliquid,ushwith
water.Iftheliquidcontactsyoureyes,seekmedicalhelp.Liquid
ejectedfromthebatterypackmaycauseirritationorburns.
5.Donotexposeabatterypackortooltoreorexcessivetemperature.
Exposuretoreortemperatureabove130°C(265°F)maycause
explosion.
6.CAUTION—Amistreatedbatterypackmaypresentariskofre,
explosion,orchemicalburn.
•Donotdisassemblethebatterypack.
•ReplacethebatterypackwithagenuineT orobatterypackonly;
usinganothertypeofbatterypackmaycauseareorriskof

suchaspaperclips,coins,keys,nails,andscrewsthatcanmakea
connectionfrom1terminaltoanother.Shortingthebatteryterminals
maycauseburnsorare.
3.Donotattempttorepairthebatterypackorbatterycharger.Have
anAuthorizedServiceDealerperformserviceonthebatterypack
orbatterychargerusingidenticalreplacementpartstoensurethat
theproductissafelymaintained.
4.Checkwithlocalcodesforpossiblespecialbatterydisposal
instructions.

ChargingtheBatteryPack
Important:Thebatterypackisnotfullychargedwhenyoupurchase
it.Beforeusingthetoolforthersttime,placethebatterypackin
thechargerandchargeituntiltheLEDdisplayindicatesthebattery
packisfullycharged.Readallsafetyprecautions.
Important:Chargethebatterypackonlyintemperaturesthatare
withintheappropriaterange;refertoSpecications(page13).
Note:Atanytime,pressthebattery-charge-indicatorbuttononthe
batterypacktodisplaythecurrentcharge(LEDindicators).

Important:Storethetool,batterypack,andchargeronlyin
temperaturesthatarewithintheappropriaterange;referto

Important:Ifyouarestoringthetoolforayearorlonger,removethe
batterypackfromthetoolandchargethebatterypackuntil2or3
LEDindicatorsturngreenonthebattery.Donotstoreafullycharged
orfullydepletedbattery.Whenyouarereadytousethetoolagain,
chargethebatterypackuntiltheleftindicatorlightturnsgreenon
thechargerorall4LEDindicatorsturngreenonthebattery.
•Disconnecttheproductfromthepowersupply(i.e.,removethebattery
pack)andcheckfordamageafteruse.
•Cleanallforeignmaterialfromtheproduct.
•Donotstoreanymachinewiththebatterypackinstalled.
•Whennotinuse,storethetool,batterypack,andbatterychargerout
ofthereachofchildren.
•Keepthetool,batterypack,andbatterychargerawayfromcorrosive
agents,suchasgardenchemicalsandde-icingsalts.
•T oreducetheriskofseriouspersonalinjury,donotstorethebattery
packoutsideorinvehicles.
•Storethetool,batterypack,andbatterychargerinanenclosedclean,

PreparingtheBatteryPackforRecycling
Important:Uponremoval,covertheterminalsofthebattery
packwithheavy-dutyadhesivetape.Donotattempttodestroyor
disassemblethebatterypackorremoveanyofitscomponents.

informationonhowtoresponsiblyrecyclethebattery.
