IEVO & TS2020 WIRING GUIDE
Connect the ievo reader to the external reader input on the TS2020. Match up the Data/D0 from the ievo
to D on the terminal, Clock/D1 from the ievo to C on the terminal and GND from the ievo to 0V on the
TS2020.
When you power on the TS2020 it will require commissioning to communicate with their software. This
will involve setting the Terminal ID and IP address (by default the TS2020 is set to DHCP so should acquire
network credentials automatically).

To set the Terminal ID press and hold the C button on the display for approx. 5 seconds to enter Diagnostic
Mode (press & hold the minutes on the display for approx. 5 seconds if the TS2020 has already acquired its
configuration).
From here enter Diagnostic Test number 28, and enter the security PIN (0825 followed by the C button by
default). Now you will be able to access all diagnostic tests. Test 30 will allow you to set the Terminal ID.
Test 37 will allow you to alter the terminals IP address and other network credentials.
PLEASE NOTE: Diagnostic Test 38 must be carried out to store the new settings and restart the terminal.
Once restarted you will need to press and hold the minutes displayed on screen for approx. 5 seconds to
enter Diagnostic Mode again. Diagnostic Test 21 is where you will need to set the correct media
interface/decode. From Diagnostic Test 21, enter 2 to set the interface for the external media input, (if you
have wired the reader in as reader 1 you will need to enter 1 to set the interface for media 1).
Use the up or down arrow to cycle through the interface options until you see Wiegand, then press Enter.
By default, Wiegand Generic will be Enabled, change this to Disabled using the up or down arrow and
press Enter to cycle through the decode options.
Ensure all are set to Disabled except for the one titled ievo 34, set this to Enabled. Once wired up and with
a user enrolled on the ievo reader you can enter Diagnostic Test 2 on the TS2020 and swipe the user’s
finger. This should confirm the media is being read correctly.
INITIAL IEVO READER SETUP
The ievo standalone application is required on your laptop to set up a factory default ievo reader before
putting it on the customer’s network, (If the ievo reader has already been configured to the customer’s
settings before shipping you can skip this section).
Set your laptop/PC to an address on the 192.168.1.??? subnet, run the ievo settings application in order to
give an ievo scanner with factory default settings its IP address, name, etc.… The default configuration will
be shown in the displayed fields so just press Connect. Once connection to the ievo reader is confirmed,
click on the Settings button to configure/check the reader configuration.

Configure the ievo reader from here to the customer’s requirement (Auto Sensor Enabled makes the ievo
constantly on so there is no need for a user to press the blue button to enable a finger scan). When
configuration is complete, click on the Update Reader button.
Facility Code – Leave this set to 1 (even when more than one ievo reader is
installed on site).
Port – Leave this set to 5005 (unless the customer has port 5005 in use elsewhere,
unlikely!).
Password – Leave this set to 0.
Output Type – 34bit (8bit FC + 24bit ID) (When output is connected to a TS2020).
TESTING THE IEVO READER & TS2020
Once a user has been set up in the application (Evolution or ievo standalone) you should be able to select
Diagnostic Test 2 on the TS2020 and swipe an enrolled finger on the ievo reader.
