General Information
Thank for your trust in TRANE wall-type
air conditioners that are carefully de-
signed and manufactured under TRANE
global standard in order to deliver you
the efcient comfort and the conve-
nient maintenance.
This owner manual is given as a guide-
line of the correct installation, use and
maintenance. Please study this manual
thoroughly.
TRANE MCW model, the wall-type split
system air conditioners, is simply in-
stalled, easily used and wireless control-
lable by LCD display. It is tted with ev-
ery room types.
Upon the package arrival, please in-
spect the unit before signing the deliv-
ery note especially any damage oc-
curred from shipment which can be
seen. You should specify the damages
in the delivery note and also inform
TRANE Thailand plus the dealer to
claim with the delivery agency.
Remarks
This manual does not include every
possible causes from installation. If
there is any problem that unspecied in
this manual or need additional informa-
tion, please contact TRANE Thailand.

Precaution
- Installation needs to be done by the professional technician. Do NOT install by yourself.
- Maintenance and repair have to be performed by the professional technician. Do NOT modify by yourself.
- The air conditioner using R-32 refrigerant (the refrigerant which harmless the ozonosphere and provides
effective cooling performance with slight ammability) is strictly required to follow the guideline before use.

Control
Name and Function of the Buttons
1. Infrared signal sender
Send the infrared signal to an
indoor unit.
2. TEMP
+ Press to increase temp.
- Press to decrease temp.
3. MODE
Press to select operation mode:
Automatic (AUTO), Cooling
(COOL), Dehumidifying (DRY)
and Blow (FAN).
4. I FEEL
Press to select I FEEL function
for automatic temperature
control.
5. FAN SPEED
Press to select the fan velocity
level.
6. ON/OFF
Press to turn on/off operation.
7. Blank button
A unit will NOT respond.
8. PLASMA
Press to on/off the PLASMA air
ltration operation.
9. TIMER ON
Press to set the automatic
turn-on time.
10. SWEEP
Press to distribute the cool air
by automatically vertical
direction.
11. TIMER OFF
Press to set the automatic
turn-off time.
12. LIGHT
Press to turn off the LED display
light on the indoor unit.
13. SLEEP
Press to automatically control
temperature while sleeping.
14. TURBO
Press to accelerate the cooling
performance.
15. TEMP
Press to select for different
temperature display e.g set
temp., room temp.
16. X-FAN
Press it prior turn off the unit
to dry the evaporator coil after
the unit operation stops.
17. CLOCK
Press to set the time of the
remote control clock.
Procedures of Battery Change
1. Remove the battery lid at the
remote control’s back by sliding.
2. Insert 2 pieces of the alkaline
dry batteries AAA.
3. Close the lid back. Should
remove the batteries when not
using an air conditioner for long
time.

Always displays when the

Displays when the unit is under

Displays when automatic timer
is operated.

Displays when a remote control

Displays when the temp. is set

Displays when the cool air is set

Identies the setting temp. or

Displays when the unit is under

How to Select an Operation
Mode
FAN Mode
• Press ON/OFF buttom to display
the last set temp.
• Press MODE button until this icon
is displayed.
• Press FAN button then the
display will show these icons
which are up to speed: Low ,
Medium , High and
Automatic
COOL Mode
• Press ON/OFF buttom to display
the last set temp.
• Press MODE button until this
icon is displayed.
• Press + or - to set the required
temp. in between 16-30 °C.
• Press FAN button then the
display will show these icons
which are up to speed: Low ,
Medium , High and
Automatic

Control
DRY Mode
• Press ON/OFF buttom to display
the last set temp.
• Press MODE button until this
icon is displayed.
• Press + or - to set the required
temp. in between 16-30 °C.
Remarks In DRY MODE, it is unable
to adjust fan speed and use
TURBO MODE้.
AUTO Mode
• Press ON/OFF buttom to display
the last set temp.
• Press MODE button until this
icon์ is displayed.
• The system will automatically
select the operation mode
suited with the room temp.
Remarks In AUTO MODE, it is
unable to use BLOW, TURBO and
SLEEP MODE.
Time Setting
• Press CLOCK button then the
icon will ash.
• Press + หรือ - to set the re-
quired time.
• Press CLOCK button to save the
setting.
Remarks
1. If you do NOT press CLOCK
button to save the setting
after the numbers have been
ashing for 5 seconds, the
system will quit without saving
any new setting.
2. Every battery removal/change,
the time setting is needed.
Automatic Operation Setting
When automatic timer is selected,
the set time will be saved in the
remote control memory. After that,
the air conditioner will operate or
stop as same as pressing the ON/
OFF button.
Off Timer
Able to set off timer for 24 hours in
advance.
• Press TIMER OFF button then the
clock will display the last off time
and icon OFF will ash.
• Press + or - to set the required
off time.
• Press TIMER OFF button to set
off time automatically.
• Icon OFF will be remianed to
display the off timer and the
display will turn back to display
the normal time.
• The air conditioner will be
automatically turned off once
the presetting off time is arrived.
• Press TIMER OFF button again to
cancel the present automatic off
timer.
Remarks If you do NOT press TIMER
OFF button within 5 seconds to
conrm off timer, the system will
quit without saving any new off
timer.
On Timer
Able to set on timer for 24 hours in
advance.
• Press TIMER ON button then the
clock will display the last off time
and icon ON will ash.
• Press + or - to set the required
on time.
• Press TIMER ON button to set on
time automatically.
• Icon ON will be remianed to
display the off timer and the
display will turn back to display
the normal time.
• The air conditioner will be
automatically turned on once
the presetting on time is arrived.
• Press TIMER ON button again to
cancel the present automatic on
timer.
Remarks If you do NOT press TIMER
ON button within 5 seconds to
conrm on timer, the system will
quit without saving any new on
timer.
TURBO MODE
Press to accelerate the cooling
performance.
• Press TURBO button when the air
conditioner is under operation.
• The air conditioner will accelerate
its cooling performance by its
maximum level.
• Press TURBO button again or
FAN buttin in case to cancel
turbo mode.
Remarks
1. When select TURBO mode, the
icon will display.
2. When select TURBO MODE, the
air conditioner will accelerate its
operation by maximum level
and may cause loud noise.
3. Able to use TURBO MODE when
the air conditioner is under
COOL MODE only.

Control
Sleep Mode
• Press SLEEP button to start
sleep mode.
• Press SLEEP button again to
cancel sleep mode.
Remarks
1. When select SLEEP MODE, the
icon will display.
2. Unable to use SLEEP MODE
when the air conditioner is
under FAN MODE or AUTO
MODE.
Sweep Mode
• Press SWEEP button to start
automatic cooling air distribu-
tion function.
• Louver will distribute the
cooling air by up and down
direction automatically.
• Press SWEEP button again to
turn off sweep mode.
Remarks In SWEEP mode, the icon
will display.
Dehumidication mode X-FAN
• Press X-FAN buttin before turn
on the air conditioner.
• When the air conditioner stops
operation, the fan will operate by
the minimum speed for 10
minutes to remove some water at
indoor unit’s heat exchanger.
• Or press X-FAN button to stop
fan operation immediately after
the air conditioner stops opera-
tion.
• Press X-FAN button again to
cancel dehumidication mode.
Remarks
1. When select X-FAN, the icon
will display on the remote
control.
2. Able to use X-FAN mode while
in COOL or DRY Mode only.
Turn Display Off at FCU
• Press LIGHT button to turn on/off
the temp. display at FCU.
Remarksุ When select to display
temp. at FCU, the icon will show
on the remote control.
I FEEL Function
• Press I FEEL button, the remote
control will scan the temp. around
the remote control handle and
send it to the FCU’s processor
every 10 minutes to provide the
most comfort room temp. to the
people in the room.
Remarksุ For the most effective way
of using I FEEL function, you should
always point the infrared sender of
the remote control direct to the
receiving window on the FCU.
Change of Temp. Display Unit
• Press MODE and - buttons
altogether while turn off the air
conditioner to change from
degree Celsius to Fahrenheit.
Button Locking of a Remote
Control
• Press + and - buttoms altogether
to lock/unlock the buttoms of a
remote control.
Remarks When lock buttons on a
remote control, the icon on a
remote control will display.

Unit Operation
Time Delay
• The control system will delay 3
minutes if any sudden on/off
occurred in order to extend
compressor lifespan.
• The time delay will start in case of
- ON/OFF button is pressed
off then on at once.
- The cooling temp. reaches
the set temp.
- Operating mode is changed.
- Power outage
If any above incident occurrs, the
3-minute delay will start to delay the
condensing unit’s operation.
Caution
The unit has to be installed by the
professional technician and follow
the installation manual strictly.
Stop Using the Air Conditioner in
case of
• Power-input wires are too hot
• Insulator of the wire is abrasive or
torn.
• Fuse is torn, the circuit breaker
cuts often or the unit does not
operate as set.
Principles of Safety
• Beware anyone especially a child
pokes a timber or a thing into the
air outlet.
• Do NOT inject or pour water into
the unit while cleaning because it
may cause electrical short.
• Do NOT directly point the cooling
air to a man.
• Do NOT spray any color or
pesticide near the unit because it
may cause re.
• Do STRICTLY NOT use wire or
copper wire to make a fuse.
• Do NOT check or repair the unit
while it is operating. You need to
cut off the power before check or
repair everytime.
• Keep any sharp weapon away
from the wires because it may
scratch the wires and cause re
or electrical short.
• If you will NOT use a unit for a
long time, you should cut off the
power.
Emergency Button

This button is for on/off the
unit in case the remote control
is malfunctioned.

Maintenance
General Maintenance
Cut off the power source before
check or repair everytime.
1. Air Filter Cleaning
1.1 Remove the air lter by
pulling it down like the
picture shown below.
1.2 For maximum cooling
efciency with saving the
energy and providing
fresh air, the air lter
should be cleaned every 1
or 2 weeks.
1.3 Use non-PH clean water
or a vacuum cleaner to
clean the air lter.
1.4 Do NOT use the hot water
over 40°C or a volatile
substance e.g. gasoline or
thinner cleans the air
lter.
1.5 Dry the air lter until it is
dry prior insert it back to
the unit.
2. Front Panel Cleaning
Remove a front panel and
the body by following
Picture 1-3 for cleaning
(after cleaning, all parts
need to be assembled
before start the unit).
2.1 It can be cleaned very
often by rubbing the unit
with a soft and damp
towel.
2.2 In case the unit is very
dirty, a soft rubbing towel
dipped by some luke
water or a non-PH sub-
stance would be used to
clean the unit.
2.3 Do NOT use a soft towel
dipped with some hot
water > 40°C or a volatile
e.g. gasoline and thinner
to rub the unit in order to
prevent any damage
effected on the external
surface of the unit’s body.
2.4 Do NOT spray any pesti-
cide to the unit.
2.5 Do NOT clean by injection
some water directly to the
a unit.

Solution for Abnormal Operation
Basic Solution
If the air conditioner opertates
abnormally, these procedures are
needed to check prior contact
TRANE After-sale Service Depart-
ment.
A Unit Does NOT Work
• Check an on/off switch. If it is
on Off status, turn it to On
status.
• Check whether any fuse is torn
or a circuit breaker is short or
not. If it is torn or short, turn
the switch off then turn on the
circuit breaker or change the
fuse.
• Check the power current. If it is
not work, wait until the power
is back to normal. Then turn
the switch on.
• Check batteries of a remote
control whether they energize
or not.
A Unit Does NOT Cool
• Check the air lter whether it
is clogged or not. If it is
clogged, clean them.
• Check the set temp. whether it
is set too high or not. If it is
set too high, the set temp. has
to be set lower.
• Check a door or a window
whether it is opened or not. If
it is opened, close the door or
the window as it will seal the
cooling air inside a room.
• Check whether any heating
source e.g. iron exists is being
used inside a room or not. If
there are too many sources,
the cooling performance is
less.
• Check whether an object
obstructs a return/supply air
grille or not. If there is a
barricade, it is needed to
remove.
• If there are too many people
inside a room, the cooling
performance will be less.
• Check a selected fan speed
whether it is too low or not. If
it is set too low, change to
select medium or high speed.

Problems Not Caused from Air Conditioner
Incident Explanation
Fog drifts out from the supply air grille of the
indoor unit.
−Cool air from the indoor unit swiftly makes
the room humid and it consequently caus-
es some fog.
The unit does not operate immediately
−when the swtich is turned on after turned
off awhile.
−when the operating mode is changed.
−This is a protection mechanism of the air
conditioning system that you have to wait
for 3 minutes approximately.
There is unplesant odor out of the indoor unit. −This could be happened when the indoor
unit has absorbed some bad odors from
the room or the tobacco. The indoor unit
releases the unplesant odor together with
the cool air (This case is recommended to
clean the indoor unit by a professional
technician. Please contact your dealer for
cleaning service).
Water leakage from the outdoor unit. −During COOL and DRY mode operation,
the tubes and connectors will be cooled
causing the steam condensation.
Crack noise −This sound would be caused from enlarge-
ment/shrinkage of the front panel etc.
which is subsequent to temp. adjustment.
Air bubble noise −This sound would be occurred when the
outdoor air is pulled into the drain pipe
resulting from a crooker hood or a ven-
tilation fan operation. This air pulling will
cause some air bubble occurred and also
the noise.
Machine operating noise from the ourdoor
unit
−It would be the noise from operating fan
or the operating compressor.
Water ow noise −It would be the refrigrant injection noise or
the water condensatin noise in the indoor
unit.

When You Think Your Air Conditioner Has a Problem
Symtoms Detail and Checking Points
An air conditioner can NOT sufciently cool a
room.
−Is the temp. set appropriately?
−Are fan speed and air distribution direction
set appropriately?
−Is an air lter clean?
−Is a propeller or a heat exchanger in an
indoor unit clean?
−Is there any object obstruct a supply/
return air grille of an indoor unit or an
outdoor unit?
−Is there any door or window open?
−If a ventilation fan or a gas stove is used in
a room, the air conditioning system needs
to operate harder and subsequently caus-
es the insufcient cooling.
−If the outdoor temp. is high, the cooling
from an air conditioner may not enough.
If there is a whirring sound occurred some-
time.
−This noise will occur in case the refrigerant
ow in an indoor unit changes direction.
−Connectors at a condensing panel are
loose.
An indoor unit is unable to receive the signal
from a remote control.
−LED light is near a remote control’s signal
receiver.
−Batteries of a remote control is not
enough.
For these following cases, you have to stop an operation and turn off the circuit breaker im-
mediately. After that, please contact your dealer to check.
−When the wires are overheat, decadent or worn-out.
−When there is some water leakage or water drop from the indoor unit.
−When some refrigerant leak from an air conditioner
−When a circuit breaker cuts off frequently.
−When there is some burning smell from an air conditioner.
−When there is an abnormal sound occurred while air conditioner is operating.
