The following modules are suitable for use in hazardous locations, when installed in IP54
enclosure.

3. Installation shall be performed by qualied electrical technician only.
4. EXPLOSION HAZARD. Do not disconnect while circuit is live or unless the area is known to be free
of ignitable concentrations of ammable gases or vapors.
5. Exposure to some chemicals may degrade the sealing properties of materials used in the gas
discharge tubes.
6. Substitution of any internal component is prohibited and may impair suitability for hazardous
locations.

1. Mounting the CPX Chassis: Mount the device as close as possible to
the equipment to be protected using the #10 hardware provided in the
packaging supplies.
2. Wiring the CPX Chassis
Suppressor must be grounded for proper operation!
2.1 Install the ground connection using a dual hole compression lug (hole
size 1/4” x 20 studs on 5/8” CC, suitable for acceptance of 10-4AWG
copper wire), with supplied fasteners, Crimp wire to lug using approved
tools.
2.2 Connect the incoming data lines to the connectors labeled ‘I’ on the
appropriate protection modules (10/100, 10/100 PoE, GbE, GbE/PoE, OR
T1/E1), using the text on the module faceplate as a guide.
2.3 For the equipment to be protected, connect the corresponding lines to
the protection module connector labeled ‘0’.
3. Installing Additional Protection Modules (See Table 1).
3.1 Remove the blank cover from an unpopulated bay in the protection
chassis by removing the mounting screw(s) with a #2 phillips screwdriver.
3.2 Slide the protection module into the open bay such that the mounting
hole(s) on the module faceplate aligns with the threaded hole(s) on the
chassis, and the “I” (input) side at the top. Ensure that the mounting tab(s)
on the protection module seats into the slot(s) on the chassis.
3.3 Re-Install the original mounting screw(s) or use the mounting screw(s)
provided in the packaging supplies for the protection module using a #2
phillips screwdriver.
3.4 Wire the protection module per the instruction given in section 3.
