INTRODUCTION Section 1
The serial number plate is located on the left side of the tractor dash, just inside the cab door. This number must
accompany all parts orders and must appear on all correspondence.
A production number is stamped into the HarveStack frame and cutter head frame as illustrated below, and can
be used for identication if the serial number plate is lost.
The “Right” and “Left”, “Front” and “Rear” of the machine are referenced from the operator’s right and left when
standing behind the machine facing the direction of forward travel.

Safety Precautions
BE ALERT!
This symbol is used to call attention to instructions concerning personal safety.
Read the message that follows this symbol and be alert to the possibility of
personal injury or death resulting from misuse. Your safety and the safety of
others is involved.
SIGNAL WORDS DEFINITIONS
A signal word - DANGER, WARNING, or CAUTION - is generally used with the safety alert symbol.
Indicates a high probability that death, severe bodily injury, and/or major
property damage could result.
Is serious but less inevitable. There is some probability that death, severe
bodily injury, and/or property damage could result.
Is less serious but still demands attention. Indicates a hazard which may
result in minor or moderate injury and/or property damage. May also be
used to alert against unsafe practices.
Read and understand this owner/operator’s manual, any other training material, and all manuals for the
tractor before attempting to operate or service this machine. Failure to do so could result in personal
injury and/or equipment damage. If clarication of any section is required, contact the manufacturer.
If the operator cannot read English, it is the owner’s responsibility to explain the material con-
tained in these manuals to them. This manual may also be available in other languages.

Operating Safety
• Before operating the HarveStack it is important the operator read and thoroughly understand this
manual and the tractor manuals. Only trained personnel should operate this machine. It is the
operator’s responsibility to ensure that all guards, decals, and shields are correctly positioned and
undamaged. The operator can prevent and is responsible for accidents or injuries occurring to them-
selves, other people, or property.
• Never allow anyone to operate or service this machine while under the inuence of alcohol or
drugs.
• Operate all controls from the operator’s seat.
• Do not allow riders on machine. Riders are subject to injury such as being thrown from the machine.
Riders also obstruct the operator’s view resulting in the machine being operated in an unsafe man-
ner.
• Operate the machine only in daylight or in good articial light.
• Keep people and pets a safe distance away from machine. Keep children away from and off the
machine at all times.
• Do not leave the operator’s seat while the machine is in operation or the engine is running, unless
the machine is in park and the parking brake (if so equipped) is engaged.
• Never attempt to remove or arrange any material from any area of the harvester until the machine
is in park, the parking brake (if so equipped) is engaged, and the engine is turned off.
• Do not ll the fuel tank while the engine is running. Do not smoke while lling the fuel tank or servic-
ing the fuel system. Keep any type of open ame away. Wait for the engine to cool before refueling.
Always clean up spilled fuel.
• Wear close tting clothing and safety equipment appropriate for the job. Prolonged exposure to loud
noise can cause impairment or loss of hearing. Wear a suitable hearing protective device such as
earmuffs or earplugs to protect against objectionable or uncomfortable loud noises.
• Operating the machine safely requires the full attention of the operator. Do not wear radio or music
headphones while operating machine.

Section 2 SAFETY
General Safety
• Before servicing or maintaining the HarveStack it is important the mechanic read and thoroughly
understand this manual and the tractor manual. Only trained personnel should service or maintain
this machine. Study the tractor manuals for warnings and instructions concerning any component
of the tractor.
• THIS HARVESTER IS NOT DESIGNED OR INTENDED FOR USE ON PUBLIC ROADS. IT IS THE
RESPONSIBILITY OF THE OWNER AND/OR USER OF THE HARVESTER TO ENSURE THAT
IT IS LEGAL TO USE THE HARVESTER ON PUBLIC ROADS IN THE COUNTRY, STATE OR
JURISDICTION IN WHICH THE HARVESTER IS TO BE USED.
• Adhering to the recommended service, maintenance, and operating procedures will help in the safe
and trouble-free operation of the machine.
• Do not perform any maintenance, service, or adjustments before stopping the engine, putting the
tractor in park, applying the parking brake (if so equipped), blocking the wheels, and removing the
ignition key.
• Keep all shields and decals securely in place.
• Do not modify or add to this equipment without the manufacturer’s authorization. Unauthorized
modications may impair function and/or safety and affect machine life.
• Do not go beneath a pallet injector, stacker, or the forks.
• The spears on the stacker are extremely sharp. Use caution when working around them.
• Securely support any machine elements that must be raised for service work.
• Install a re extinguisher on the machine. Keep the entire machine clean, preventing any possibility
of re.
• Do not do any welding on the machine until the battery is disconnected. Always connect welding
ground close to the work.
• Relieve pressure before connecting or disconnecting lines.
• Tighten all connections before starting the engine or pressurizing lines.
• Do not use your hand to check for leaks. Use a piece of cardboard or wood to search for leaks.
Escaping diesel and hydraulic uid under pressure can have sufcient force to penetrate the skin
and cause serious injury. If uid is injected into the skin obtain medical attention immediately.
• Liquid ballast and weights are used to offset the weight of the harvester. If either are removed for
any reason, they must be replaced, or unsafe operating conditions will occur.

Section 3 PRE-OPERATION
Operator’s Responsibility
• Check the tractor in accordance with the tractor manufacturer’s recommendations as shown in the tractor
operator’s manual.
• Check that all decals, guards, and shields are in good condition and correctly and securely in place.
• Check that all controls are undamaged, clean, and ready for use.
• Make a thorough visual check that all hardware, ttings, nuts, bolts, clamps, hoses, and all types of connec-
tions are secured correctly.
• Check tire pressure and check for tire damage. Never exceed the maximum pressure indicated on the tire.
CAUTION MUST BE USED WHEN RE-INFLATING OR BRINGING A LOW TIRE
UP TO RECOMMENDED PRESSURE. CHECK AIR PRESSURE WITH GAUGE
BEFORE CONNECTING AN AIR HOSE TO A PARTIALLY INFLATED TIRE.
OVERINFLATION COULD RESULT IN A VIOLENT EXPLOSION.
• Check hydraulic lines, hoses, and connections for leaks.
IF A LEAK IS SUSPECTED, USE A PIECE OF CARDBOARD OR WOOD, NOT
YOUR HANDS, TO CHECK FOR LEAKS. ESCAPING HYDRAULIC OIL UNDER
PRESSURE CAN HAVE SUFFICIENT FORCE TO PENETRATE SKIN AND
CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY. IF FOREIGN FLUID IS INJECTED INTO THE SKIN
IT MUST BE SURGICALLY REMOVED WITHIN A FEW HOURS BY A DOCTOR
FAMILIAR WITH THIS FORM OF INJURY OR GANGRENE MAY RESULT.
• Check hydraulic oil level. Gauge is located on oil tank. Oil level must be between upper and lower lines.
• Check hydraulic oil temperature periodically during operation. Temperature should not exceed 160 deg F
(71 deg C).
