! Use the Quick Installation Guide when using the camera for the first time. This
guide contains the basic instructions you will need to know in order to be able
to use this camera.
Consult the “Quick Reference Guide” for how to use the menu and its

1 Introduction
This manual is for users of the ‘Trust 913 PowerC@m Zoom‘. The camera has a 3.1
Megapixel CMOS sensor and maximum resolution of 6.6 Megapixels. A maximum of
60 images can be saved in the 8MB internal memory of 8MB.
1.1 General comments regarding photography
Test photograph
Before you start photographing a unique event, it is a good idea to first take a
number of test photographs. This will help to ensure that the camera works as
required.
No compensation for unsuccessful photographs
No compensation may be claimed for unsuccessful photographs as a result of a
faulty camera, faulty software, etc.
Transferring photographs and video clips
No guarantees are given that photographs and video clips produced with this camera
can be displayed on other devices or that photographs and video clips produced with
other devices can be displayed using this camera.
Sunlight
Do not aim the camera directly at the sun for a long period of time.
Flash
Observe caution when operating the flash. Never use the flash close to the eyes of
people or animals. This can cause temporary damage to the eyes. Keep the flash at
least 2 metres away from any eyes.
Shaking/knocks
Do not shake the camera or knock it against anything. This may cause a fault,
unsuccessful photographs, memory incompatibility or the loss of photographs from
the memory.
LCD display
There may sometimes be small black or clear dots visible on the LCD screen. This is
normal and does not affect the photographs. There is no reason to exchange the
camera if there are 10 dots or less.
Exposing the LCD screen to direct sunlight for a long period of time may cause faults.
Lens
Keep the glass of the lens clean. Use a cotton bud to clean the lens. If necessary,
use special cleaning fluid for camera lenses. Do not use a different type of cleaning
product.

2 Safety
Carefully read the following instructions before use.
- The TRUST 9130 POWERC@M ZOOM does not require any special
maintenance. Use a moist soft cloth to clean the outside of the camera.
- Do not use aggressive substances, such as petrol or white spirit, to clean the
camera. These may harm the material it is made from.
- Never immerse the camera in a fluid. This may be dangerous and will damage
the product. Do not use the camera in thedirect vicinity of water.
- Do not repair this camera yourself.
2.1 Batteries
- The Duracell Ultra batteries supplied with the device are not rechargeable. Do
not try to recharge them. This can give rise to danger of an explosion.
- Never throw the batteries onto an open fire. The batteries may explode.
- Never drill holes in the batteries.
- Keep the batteries out of reach of small children.
- Use only AA alkaline batteries with this camera.
You can also use rechargeable AA NiMH batteries (minimum 1800 mAh).
- When the alkaline batteries (including Duracell Ultra batteries) are flat, ask your
local authority where you can dispose of them.
N.B.: Standard AAA NiCd batteries are not suitable.
N.B.: Do not use old and new batteries at the same time, because the old
batteries may deplete the new ones.
N.B.: if the camera is not to be used for a long time remove the batteries. This
will help to increase the lifetime of the batteries.
3 Approval
This device conforms with the essential requirements and other relevant provisions
of the applicable European directives. The Declaration of Conformity (DoC) is
available at www.trust.com/13835/CE.
4 Explanation of camera functions
4.1 Functions on the top, front and side

6 USB connection The USB (Universal Serial Bus) port is used to
connect the camera to a PC as well as for
transferring photos. The USB port also enables
you to use the camera as a PC camera.
7 Lens Focus
Switch
Optimize the focus for portrait or landscape
style photos.See section 6.2.
8 Lens The lens focuses the light onto the digital
image capturing circuitry. For the best picture
quality, care should be taken to ensure it
remains free of dust, fingerprints, and
scratches.

flashes once every second until the flash is fully
charged.

5 Preparing the camera for use
5.1 Inserting and removing the batteries
See Figures 4a to 4e in the front of this manual or Step 1 of the Quick Installation
Guide for how to insert and remove the batteries.
The battery status will be shown in the bottom left of the LCD screen.
Batteries charged.
Batteries half charged.
Batteries flat. Replace the batteries.

Notes about lifetime of the batteries: It is recommended that Ni-MH batteries are
used with this camera rather than Alkaline batteries. Trust has
various Ni-MH battery chargers in its range.

5.2 Choosing a Language
The digital camera can display text in English, Spanish, German, French, Italian and
Dutch.
Follow the instructions below to set the camera to your wishes.
1. Switch on the camera.
2. Press the “MENU” button to show the menu system.
3. Use the button (W) (È) to select [SETUP] then press the right button (Æ)to
open the [SETUP] menu.
4. Use the button (W) (È) to select [LANGUAGE] then press the right button (Æ).
5. Use the “T”- (Ç) and “W”- (È) buttons to select the language you want to use
and then press the right button (Æ) to set the language.
6. Press the “MENU”button to exit the menu.

5.3 Other settings
Consult the Quick Reference Guide for other settings in the menu.
6 Taking a picture ( )
Before you can take pictures you must slide the camera out of its protective case
(Figure 4a) and put the camera back in the case (figure 4e).
Switch the camera on (3, Figure 1) and set the mode switch (2, Figure 1) to
“Capture”. Focus on the object to be taken and press the shutter (1, Figure 1) in
order to take the photo.
Note: hold the camera steady to avoid taking blurred pictures.
6.1 Zooming in and out
You can use the Zoom-in (T) or Zoom-out (W) buttons to narrow or widen the
camera’s field of view. Use the LCD Screen to preview the effects of the zoom
function.
N.B.: The digital zoom decreases the image quality.
6.2 Focus
The lens focus can be changed by the switch (7, Figure 1). Select setting the focus
mode by sliding the focus setting switch.
Landscape
130 cm -> ~
This focus is optimized for taking landscape pictures,
with the lens focus universally distributed to encompass
everything within the frame.
Portrait
60 -> 130 cm
This preset is optimized for taking portrait photos
focusing more on the centre of the frame than on the
peripheral areas.
Close up photos taken in Portrait mode have betters results than close up photos
taken in Landscape mode.
7 Making a video ( )
This allows you to save video clips in the internal memory of the camera.
To record a video clip
1. Slide the mode switch to Film mode.
2. Frame your shot, after the camera's LCD screen turns on.
3. Press the Shutter button to begin recording. The camera keeps recording until
the memory is full, or the Shutter button is pressed again.
Digital zoom
Digital zoom can be adjusted from 1.0X to 4.0X in 0.2X steps before recording a
movie clip.
Lighting
While recording a video press the left or right button to brighten or darken the film.

8.1 On the camera
In order to view the photos slide the mode switch to Playback mode and switch
the camera on.
The default Playback method is to show each individual picture one at a time at full
screen size. Press the left (Å) and right buttons (Æ) to browse through the pictures
you have taken.
Enlarging
You can also use the Zoom buttons (T)/(W) to view a picture in more detail. The
default zoom setting is 1.0X.
Press the Zoom-in button (T) to increase the zoom ratio from 1.0X to 4.0X in steps of
0.5X .
Press the Zoom-out button (W) to decrease the zoom ratio.
Note: the digital zoom function does not work in the Economy mode of 6.6 M
(2976 X 2232)
Thumbnail images
If you press the Zoom-Out button (W) when the zoom ratio is at 0.5X (default), the
camera switches to Thumbnail Review mode.
Up to nine pictures are shown on the LCD simultaneously in Thumbnail Review
mode. Use the up, down, left and right buttons to browse through the thumbnail
pages.
To return to Full-Screen Review, select the photo you want to view and press the
Shutter button. The selected picture will then expand to fill the entire LCD Screen.
Video recording
Press the shutter button to begin playing back. Press the button again to pause.
Press the button once more to continue.
Deleting a photograph or a video clip
Follow the steps given below to delete a recording.
1. Press the left or right button to display the image you want to delete.
2. Press the “MENU” button to enter the menu system.
3. Use the ‘down” or “up” button to select [DELETE] (OSD NL). Press the right
button to enter the menu.
4. Use the “up” or “down” button to select [YES] (OSD NL). or [NO] (OSD NL) .
Press the right button to confirm your choice.
5. Press the “MENU” button to exit the menu.
6. Repeat steps 1 to 5 to delete other images.
8.2 On the computer
This section explains how to connect your digital camera to a computer to download
pictures to a PC or to use as a PC camera.
You must carry out the following steps before connecting the camera to the
computer:
1. Install the driver program (for Windows) ÆSection 8.2.1.
2. Set the camera to “Card reader” Æsection 8.2.2

3. Connect the camera to the computer Æsection 8.2.3.
4. Copying photos and videos to the computer Æsection 8.2.4
8.2.1 Installing the driver program (for Windows)
N.B.: do not connect the camera to a computer before Installing the
software.
1. Insert the CD-ROM into your computer’s CD-ROM drive. The installation
program will start automatically. If it does not start automatically, carry out the
following:
a. Select 'Run' from the Windows Start menu.
b. Type [D:\SETUP.EXE] and click on 'OK' to start the Trust Software
Installer.
2. The Trust Install screen will be displayed. (See Figure 5)
3. Select the language (in the top right-hand corner) you wish to use for the
Installation.
4. Select ‘Install driver’.
5. Follow the instructions on the screen.
8.2.2 Setting the camera as “Card reader” (Windows and
Macintosh)
1. Switch on the camera.
2. Press the “Menu” button to show the menu system.
3. Use the button (W) (È) to select [SETUP] (OSD NL) then press the right button
(Æ) to open the [SETUP] menu.
4. Use the button (W) (È) to select [USB] (OSD NL) then press the right button
(Æ).
5. Select [CARD READER] (OSD NL) and then press the right button (Æ) to
confirm the selection.
6. Press the “Menu” button to exit the menu.
8.2.3 Connecting the camera to a computer (Windows and
Macintosh)
1. Connect the small connector of the USB cable to the camera. (6, fig. 1)
2. Connect the large end of the USB cable to an empty USB slot on your
computer (figure 6). The Windows Add Hardware Wizard will automatically
detect the camera and lead you through the Installation procedures.
8.2.4 Copy photos/video-clips to the computer
When connected to your computer in Card Reader mode, the digital camera behaves
exactly like any other disk drive attached to your computer. This makes copying the
images to your hard drive as easy as copying files from a floppy disk, zip drive or CD-
ROM.
8.2.4.1 PC
1. Connect the camera to the computer using the USB cable.
2. Switch on your camera.
Windows XP: a window “Removable Disk” will open. Select the option “Open
folder to view files using Windows Explorer” Skip step 3.

3. Open Windows Explorer. The contents of your computer will be displayed,
including all your disk drives, and, if the camera is connected properly, an extra
disk drive representing the camera's memory called “Removable Disk.”
4. Select the digital camera drive. A list of the photos in the camera will be
displayed. Select the photos and drag and drop them onto your computer’s
hard disk. UK
8.2.4.2 MAC
1. Make sure your computer is turned on.
2. Connect the camera to your Mac system.
3. An extra folder will now be added to your desktop. Your pictures are stored in
this folder.
4. Open this folder to access your pictures and video clips.
5. In MAC OS X, the image capture will be activated automatically to easily import
your pictures into the ‘Pictures’ folder on your system.
Note: use a recent version of Apple’s QuickTime to play video clip files.
8.3 On the television
The camera can be connected to a TV or a video to view your pictures and video
clips. A standard RCA video cable is supplied with the camera.
Setting Video out:
The TV output from the camera must be set to PAL. This is the most common
standard in Europe. See the Quick Reference Guide.
Connecting the camera to a TV:
1. Connect one end of the AV cable to the camera’s video-out connection (5,
Figure 1). This is behind the rubber protection.
2. Connect the other end of the AV cable to your TV. Your TV must have an input
for video signals (yellow RCA plug). The yellow plug is for the picture signal.
You will need an adapter if your TV only has a SCART plug. This can be
purchased from most TV and radio shops.
3. Set your TV to the video input display.
4. Switch on your camera. The camera’s image will now be visible on your TV.
Note: make surethe settingPAL is used in Europe. Setting to the wrong
standard makes the screen fuzzy and everything will be displayed in
black and white.
Note: the camera’s Video-out connection is not suitable for connecting to
your TV’s aerial connection. Your TV must have a Video-in
connection.
Note: if you do not see an image and hear a loud humming sound through
the speakers then you may have connected the image plugs to the
wrong connection. Check the connections and try again.

9 Other settings
9.1 Setting the lighting value (Capture and Film mode)
Adjust the lighting value if the object is much brighter or darker than the background.
The available white balance values are between -2.0 to +2.0 EV in steps of 0.5 EV.
Use the left or right button (-/+) to select the EV value. The EV value appears on the
LCD Screen.
9.2 Flash (Capture mode)
The flash can be used when there is insufficient light and as additional light when too
much light comes from behind the object.
The flash will be charged when “On” or “Auto” (Automatic) has been selected. If the
batteries are fully charged this takes about 3 seconds. The LCD screen remains
blank during charging. The status light will flash.

9.3 White balance (Capture mode)
Change the preset white balance setting to suit the lighting conditions in which the
picture is being taken.

9.4 Resolution (Capture mode)
Photographs can be saved in the memory in five different formats. Using a smaller
format allows you to take more photos.
Adjust the image quality and resolution by selecting [RESOLUTION] from the menu
display.

9.5 Self-timer (Capture mode)
This option gives you the ability to take hands-free photos, such as self-portraits or
group photos.
To Take a Group Photo
1. Position the camera on a stable surface (such as a tripod) and frame the shot.
2. Press the “Menu” button to show the menu system.
3. Use the up and down button to select {SELF-TIMER] (OSD NL) Press the right
button to enter the selected option.
4. Use the up and down button to select [ON] (OSD NL) Press the right button
5. Press the “Menu” button to exit the menu display.
6. Press the Shutter button. The 10-second delay begins immediately. When the
delay ends, the camera takes the picture.
9.6 Continuous (Capture mode)
Use the setting “Continuous” to take consecutive images.
To setup a continuous shot
1. Press the “MENU” button to show the menus.
2. Use the up and down button to select [CONTINUOUS] (OSD NL) Press the
right button to select the option.
3. Use the up and down button to select [ENABLE] (OSD NL) Press the right
button to select the option.
4. Press the “MENU” button to exit the menu display.
5. Press the shutter button and keep it depressed. A new photo will be taken
every second.
N.B.: the settings for “continuous” have to be switched on and off manually.

9.7 Example (Capture mode)
After taking a photo, you can decide to preview the image before saving it.

OFF: Saves the image without confirmation.
1 SEC: The image appears on the LCD screen for one second before being saved.
CONFIRM: A confirmation message appears on the LCD screen before the image is
saved. Select the option using the left and right buttons and press the exposure
button in order to save the photo or to delete it.
9.8 Tripod
The tripod stand supplied with the camera can be used to keep the camera stable. It
is recommended that the stand is used when using the automatic self-timer function
or the portrait mode. The stand can be screwed on to the connection made for it (9,
Figure 3)
9.9 Attaching the wrist strap
You can attach the wrist strap to the camera for optimal ease of use and safety. Fix
the strap to the connection point (6, Figure 3)
10 Memory and DPOF
The standard 8 MB memory in the camera can be enlarged with a SD (Secure
Digital) memory card. The photographs and video clips are automatically saved on
the memory card when one has been inserted into the camera.
Memory cards can be purchased from, for example, a photography shop.
10.1 Inserting or removing a memory card
1. Open the battery cover on the camera.
2. Inserting: Put the memory card in with the corner with the notch towards the
outside edge of the camera. (Gold contacts towards the back of the camera.)
Press the memory card into the slot until it clicks into place. (Figure 7)
Removing: Remove the memory card by pushing it so that the lock is
released. Remove the memory card from the camera
3. Close the battery cover.
N.B.: the memory card can only be inserted into the camera in one way. Do
not force the card into the slot. This could damage both the memory
card and the camera.
N.B.: the camera automatically saves photographs and video clips on a
memory card when one has been inserted into the camera.

10.2 Formatting / deleting all images
Deleting all: this option deletes all images from the memory

Formatting: This option deletes all information and reformats the memory. It is similar
in function to formatting a PC hard drive. Although format takes longer than delete,
be sure to format your storage device occasionally to ensure the card continues to
function optimally.

10.3 Internal / external memory
The camera automatically save photographs and video clips on a memory card when
one has been inserted into the camera. “EX” will be displayed on the LCD screen.
It is possible to change manually from internal to external (memory card) for saving or
playback of the images.

10.4 DPOF
DPOF (Digital Print Order Format) is a system that allows digital cameras to define
which captured images are to be printed on compatible print devices.
Two DPOF options are available from the menu:
Standard: Standard output to the printing device.
Index: All the images will be displayed in thumbnail size to allow the user to
select the photos required.

10.4.1 Selecting image for DPOF )Playback mode)
1. Press the left (Å) or right (Æ) button to display the image for which you want to
specify a DPOF setting.
2. Press the “MENU” button and use the up button to select the DPOF menu.
Select [ENABLE] and press the right button to select the setting.
3. Press the “Menu” button to exit the menu.
A DPOF icon appears on the LCD screen. If the memory card is inserted into a
printer with a card reader, it is possible to print the selected photographs directly. A
computer is then not necessary. See the instruction manual provided with your printer
for more information.
11 Use as video camera on the computer
N.B.: this function does not work on the Macintosh
N.B.: first Install the driver program before connecting the camera
When connected, the camera may be used in conjunction with any commercially
available video capture software to create your own home movies. The camera can
also be used with real-time video conferencing software such as Microsoft
NetMeeting™.

Select the computer camera in the setup menu (Menu Æ[SETTINGS] Æ[USB] Æ[PC
CAMERA] and connect the camera using the USB cable to your computer.New
hardware will be found and the driver program installed automatically.
N.B.: do not disconnect the USB cable when the digital camera is functioning
as a PC Camera (i.e. when the application's window shows the camera
video output or when the application is recording video). Unexpected
problems could result.
12 Software
12.1 Ulead Photo Explorer 8 SE Basic (Windows)
The software Ulead Photo Explorer 8.0 supplied allows you to extract your photos
from the camera in an orderly fashion.

12.1.1 Installation
1. Put the CD-ROM in the CD-ROM drive. Trust Installer Æ“Install software” Æ
“Ulead Photo Explorer 8 SE Basic”.
2. Click on “Next”, “Yes” (license Agreement), and “Next” (4x).
3. Fill in the country you are in at “TV-System” so that the correct TV system
(PAL/NTSC) will be used.
4. Click on “Next” (2x). The program will be installed.
5. The default settings at “File Association” can be used. Click on “Next” to go
further.
6. “Register online” allows you to register the program with Ulead. Click on
“Finish” to close.
12.1.2 Use
1. Connect the camera as [CARD READER] to the USB port of the computer. The
Digital Camera Wizard (Figure 8), of Ulead Photo Explorer will be displayed.
Windows XP:if the window “removable disk” appears click on “Cancel” to
close the window.
a. Install the digital camera wizard once (see Figure 8)
1) Get Images from: “Digital Camera: Generic
b. Click on: A:\. (2, Figure 8) Figure 9 appears.
c. Click on “Auto find”. Click on “OK” to confirm. Figure 8 appears.
d. See Figure 8;
- Copy Images to, tick “Create new folder in C:\My Documents\My
pictures. Click to alter the location (3, Figure 8)
- Folder name with “Date” (4, Figure 8)
- Enable: “Renumber images to ensure every file name is unique”.
This ensures that you will not overwrite any old files.
2. Click on “Start”. Your images will be copied to the location specified (step 1d)
3. Double click with the left-hand mouse button to view the images completely.

4. Click on the pictogram “Adjust Image” (4th from left) to work on the photo.
Click on the pictogram “Return” (1st from the left) to return to the previous
screen. .
5. More information is available in the Ulead Photo Express manual on the CD-
ROM.

N.B.: save the adjusted images under another name(Save as..) so that the
original will also still be saved.
12.2 Ulead DVD Picture Show 2 SE Basic
This program is only useful if your computer has a CD or DVD writer. DVD Picture
Show allows you to transfer photos to a slide show which can be played easily on a
DVD player. In order to make maximum use of this application you need a CD-RW or
DVD writer and a DVD player. Not all DVD players can read self-made DVDs or CD-
R disks. If in doubt read the manual of your DVD player.
See section 12.1.1 for the Installation. The manual will be Installled and can be called
up directly from the menu. (Acrobat Reader is necessary). The manual can also be
read from the CD-ROM: (Trust Installer Æ“Read manual” Æ“Ulead DVD
PictureShow 2”)
12.3 Ulead Photo Explorer 2.01 (Macintosh)
12.3.1 Installation
1. Put the CD-ROM in your CD-ROM player. A Trust window will appear.
2. Click on “OK”. The Installl window will appear.
3. Click on “Install”. The files will be copied to your hard disk. This can take a little
time until “Finished” is displayed.
4. Click on “Quit” to end the installation. The folder “Trust 913 PowerC@m Zoom”
will appear..
5. Double click on “PEX 2.0” for Installation of Ulead Photo Explorer
PEX 2.0 -> English version
PEX 2.0F -> French version
PEX 2.0I -> Italian version
PEX 2.0G -> German version
PEX2.0P -> Portuguese version
PEX2.0S -> Spanish version
6. Follow the instructions on the screen to install.
12.3.2 Use
Open the file “photo Explorer” in the folder “Ulead Photo Explorer”. A manual for the
software is also included in this folder. Read this for more information.
12.4 Trust Photo Site
Trust offers you the possibility of publishing your photographs on the Internet at
(www.trustphotosite.com). There are a number of conditions attached to the use of
this site. The conditions can be found at www.trustphotosite.com.

12.5 Removing software
If you want to remove the camera driver program, the software Ulead Photo Explorer
8 or Trust Photo Upload from the computer follow the steps given below
1. Go to Software in the control panel screen (Start ÆSettings ÆControl panelÆ
software)
2. Click on the program that you want to remove and then on “Delete”
3. Follow the instructions on the screen. Restart the computer if requested to do
so.
13 Checking after the Installation (Windows)
After Installing the device and the driver, the following are installed on your computer
