of carpetsand upholstery.
Werecommend thatanyusernotfamiliarwith
carpetcleaning shouldread theseuser
instructionsfullybeforeusing the machine. Ifyou
haveanyqueriespleasecontact the supplierwho
you purchased the machine fromorTruvox
Internationalon the contactdetailsprovided at
the back.
Thesemachinesmustonlybe used forthe
manufacturer’sapproved application.Donot
use the machine whereitissuspected thatthe
carpet, floororupholstery containshealth
endangering dustordebrissuchasasbestosor
chemicalwaste.Ifthisissuspected do not
proceed,contactyoursupervisor,supplieror

information aboutthe machine and safetyadvice
forthe operator.
Equipmentmustbe operated,serviced and
maintained inaccordancewiththe

1.1ImportantSafetyAdvice
When using electrical equipmentbasicsafety
precautionsshouldbe followed including the

•Switchoffthe machine beforeremoving the
plug.
•Keep the powersupplycordclearofmoving
parts.During operation hazardmayoccur
whenrunning the machine overthe power
supplycord.
•The powersupplycordmustberegularly
inspected forsignsofdamage.Ifthe power
supplycordisdamaged,itshall onlybe
replaced bythe manufacturer,itsserviceagent
orasimilarqualified person inordertoavoida
hazard.
•Onlyreplacethe supplycordwiththe type
specified intheinstruction manual.
•Do notoperatethe machine withadamaged
supplycordorplug,orafterthe machine
malfunctionsorisdamaged inanyway.

oradjustment.
•The plug ofthe powersupplycordmustbe
removed fromthe socket-outletbefore
commencing cleaning ofthe machine or
undertaking maintenanceoperations.
•Do not kinkortwist the powercord.

of stairstoavoidoverbalancing.

1.2Guidelines fortheoperator
WARNING
Operatorsmust be fullytrained inthe use
ofthe machine inaccordancewiththese
instructions,abletoperformuser
maintenanceand the correctselection of
accessories.
•Operatorsshouldbephysicallycapableto
manoeuvre,transportand operatethe
machine.
•Operatorsshouldbe abletorecogniseunusual
operation ofthe machine and reportany
problems.
•Onlyusethe machine onfirmlevelsurfaces.
•Wearsuitablefootweartoavoidslipping.
•Wearsuitableclothingtokeep dryand warm.
•Wherepossibleimplementjob rotation and
adequaterestperiodstoavoidcontinuoususe
of the samemuscles.
•Do not leavemachine running unattended
•Do not smokewhen using the machine.
•Do notputanyobjectsintoopenings.Do not
usewithanyopening blocked:keep free of
dust, debris,hair,oranything thatmayreduce
airflow.

stored outdoorsorinwet conditions.
CAUTION -Ifit issuspected thatthereis
hazardousdustorflammablematerials
stop cleaning the area immediatelyand
consult yoursuperior.
WARNING Onlyuseaccessoriesand

thoseapproved bythe manufacturer.
The useofotheraccessoriesmayimpair
the safetyofthe machine.

•Ensurethe machine isswitched off before
adding orchanging accessories.
1.3Transportingthemachine
CAUTION –Incorrectlifting techniques
mayresultinpersonalinjury,where
applicabledo notliftlarge and heavy
machineswithout assistance. Weadvisethat the
manual handling regulationsarefollowed.
Pleaserefertothe technicaltablefordetailson
weight ofmachine.
When transporting the machine ensurethatall
components,tanksand removablepartsare
securelyfastened,and thatthe supplycordand
plug arenot trailing. Detachhoseand wandfrom
machine whereapplicable.
Donot lift ortransportthe machine whilst
containing liquidasthiswilladd considerablyto
the weight.
Takeextremecarewhen moving the machine up
ordownstepsorstairs.
1.4Electrical connection
Beforeconnecting the machine tothe power
supply,check thatyoursupplyvoltage
correspondswiththatmarked on the ratinglabel.
The powersupplycordplusanyextension leads
shouldnotexceed 30mintotal,otherwiseyou
mayexperienceproblemsstarting up the
machine.The cross-section ofanyextension
cablewiring must be atleast 2,5mm².
Shouldan extension cordbe used,ensurecord
rating isadequateforthe equipment.Do notuse
extension cordincoiled condition asthiscould
result inoverheating of the cord.
UK only
The supplycordfor230vmodelsisfitted witha
plug containing a13 ampfuse.Shouldthe fuse
requirereplacementit must onlybe replaced bya
13 ampfuseconforming toBS1362,and the fuse
covermust be refitted. Ifthe fusecoverislost the
plug mustnotbe useduntil the correct
replacement coverisfitted.
IMPORTANT -Ifthe supplycordisdamaged,it
must onlybe replaced byaspecialcordavailable
fromthe manufactureroran authorised service
agent.

water.Takecaretousecorrectdilution ratefor
the detergent. Neveroverfill.
•Important-Takecaretoonlyuseappropriate
low-foamcarpetcleaning chemicalswiththe
machine.Incorrectchemicalscouldcause
damage tothe carpetsbeingcleaned orcause
the machine tomalfunction.
4Operation
4.1Starting themachine
•Connect the cabletomainspower.
•Switchon the unitsprayor/and vacuum.
•Depressing thehandleof the accessory sprays
solution.Maintainaconstantpressureofthe
accessory ontothe surfacetobe cleaned.(fig.
2).

4.2Using themachine
•Tomorethoroughlydrythe surfacebeing
cleaned,completethe cleaning withasecond
passwiththe vacuum(and no spray).
•Neversoakthe textilebeing cleaned while
spraying.
4.3Cleaning Carpet
Colourfastness - Beforeusing cleaning solution
orpre-spotter, test carpet forcolourfastnesson
an inconspicuousarea. Applysolution toasmall
pieceof clean whitematerial ortissue, and then
rub on carpetvigorously. Excessiveamountsof
dyeshowing on the material indicatethatthe
coloursarenotfast,and the carpetshouldnot be
wet cleaned.
•Movefurniturearound togiveaclearworking
area.Coverbottomsoffurniturelegswhere
necessary (aluminiumcooking foilisideal).Pin
up curtainsand drapes.
•Vacuumcarpetthoroughlytoremoveany
residualdust ordebris.
•Areasofheavycarpetsoiling can be removed
moreeasilyiffirsttreated withaconcentrated
cleaning solution orpre-spotting solution.
•Rateofcleaning willdepend upon the
thickness ofthe carpetand the degree of dirtin
the area being cleaned.
•Do notclean anymorethan twice.Carpets
mayshrinkiftheyareover-wetornotproperly
fixed down.

4.4Cleaning Stairs
CAUTION- When cleaning on stairs
exercise
greatcaretoensurethatmachine is
stableand
cannot overbalance, possiblycausing injuryto
eitheroperatororthirdparty. Usethe optional
stair/upholstery toolforcleaning inplaceof the
wandassembly.
4.5Cleaning Upholstery
Thisisdone inthe samewayascarpet cleaning
exceptusing the optional upholstery toolinplace
of the wand assembly.Cleaning isachieved
using agentledragging motion ofthe upholstery
tooloverthe material.
•Aninconspicuousareaofthe itemtobe
cleaned shouldalwaysbe tested forcolour
fastness priortocleaning.Shoulddoubtexist
astothe suitabilityofthe fabricforwet
cleaning,the chemical manufacturershouldbe
consulted foradvice.
•Loosecushionsshouldbe removed and
cleaned separately.
•Careshouldbe taken toavoidover-wetting the
fabric.
5When CleaningisFinished
5.1Draining andCleaning
•Beforeremoving the sprayhose,pressurein
the systemmustbe released.Withthe pump
switched off, holdthe spraynozzleoverthe
recovery tankopening and depressthe spray
triggeruntil the remaining solution hasbeen
released.The sprayhosecan nowbe
disconnected.
•Afterusecheck thatbothsolution tanksare
empty.
•Emptythe clean watertankand rinse.
•Emptythe recoverytankand riseclean.
•The clean water/solution tankcan be emptied
intothe recoverytankbyusing the vacuum
hose, and then emptied out.
•Rinsebothtanksoutwithclean waterbefore
storing the machine.
5.2Storage
•Alwaysunplug,empty,wipe downanddry the
machine afteruse.
•Wrap supplycordaround thebodyofthe
machine,orcoiland pushunderthe handle,
ensuring thatthe plug isnottrailing on the
floor.Storethe machine inadry indoorarea
only.
5.3Maintenance
WARNING-Before undertaking
maintenance operationsor
adjustmentsswitchoff machineand
unplugfromtheelectricitysupply.
The machine requiresminimummaintenance
apartfromthe following checksbythe operator.
•Supplycord -Regularlyinspectsheath,plug
and cordanchorage fordamage orloose
connection.
•Solution tank –Check filterisclean and
undamaged.Adamaged ormissing filter
mustbe replaced ordamage topumphead
and sprayjet couldoccur.
•Vacuumhead –Check and removeany
debrisorlintbuild-up fromthe head.
•Spray jet –Check jetforblockage and full
spraypattern.Blowthrough jettoclean. Do
not useapin, asthiscoulddamage the jet.
IMPORTANT –Allotherservicing and repairs
shouldonlybe performed byaTruvoxengineer
orAuthorised ServiceAgent.
6After Sales Service
Truvoxmachinesarehigh qualitymachinesthat
havebeen tested forsafetybyauthorised
technicians. Itisalwaysapparent that afterlonger
working periods,electricaland mechanical
componentswillshowsignsofwearand tearor
ageing.
Underextremeorspecialised conditionsand/or
insufficient maintenance, shortermaintenance
intervalsarenecessary. UseonlyoriginalTruvox
spareparts. Use ofother spare partswill
invalidateall warrantyand liabilityclaims.
Shouldyou requireaftersalesserviceplease
contactthe supplierfromwhomyou purchased
the machine,who will arrange service. Repairs
and servicing of Truvoxproductsshouldonlybe
performedbytrained staff. Improperrepairscan
causeconsiderabledangerstothe user.

7Guarantee
Yourproductisguaranteed for two yearfromthe
dateoforiginalpurchase,orhirepurchase,
againstdefectsinmaterialsorworkmanship
during manufacture.Withinthe guarantee period
weundertakeatourdiscretion,torepairor
replacefreeofcharge tothe purchaser,anypart
found tobe defective,subjecttothe following
conditions.

1.Claimsmade underthe termsofthe
guarantee mustbe supported bytheoriginal
invoice/billofsaleissuedatthe timeofsale,
