Speed or accuracy?
Now be on target with both.
When you are taking a temperature, speed and
accuracy are both critical. You need the quickest
reading possible, but getting it fast doesn’t count if
the temperature is not on target.
With the FILAC FasTemp* Thermometer, you no
longer have to choose, our FasT System allows the
thermometer to “think” on the job like no other
thermometer can. This smart technology allows the
thermometer to target a precise temperature by
enabling it to search for and analyze trends that are
unique to a patient’s individual body site. Accurate
measurement times are as fast as 4 seconds for oral
temperature readings and 10 seconds for axillary
and rectal temperature measurements. Only the
FILAC FasTemp* thermometer takes into account
the patient’s physiological conditions and will report
a reading only when it complies with both ASTM
and CEN standards, a first in the industry. With its
fast PREDICTIVE mode for accurate temperature
measuring and its DIRECT mode for monitoring you
will have the possibility to measure hypothermic
patients as well.

Direct Mode
FILAC FasTemp* Thermometer normally operates in
fast Predictive mode for accurate temperature
measuring. In certain cases, such as an hypothermic
patient, the thermometer will automatically shift to
Direct (slow) mode and will then act as a temperature
monitor.

Isolation Chambers
Completely separate colour-coded isolation chambers
with individual probes, probe wells and probe cover
holders help reduce the risk of cross-contamination
while facilitating easy change out between two
oral/axillary and rectal temperature modes.
Oversized Backlit LCD
Display with Iconography
Large user-friendly LCD display provides temperature
readings quickly and accurately, day and night, and
features graphic icons for intuitive usage instructions
when language or sight might be a barrier.

The FILAC FasTemp* Thermometer safely and
efficiently accommodates three different temperature
modes — oral, axillary and rectal — all in one
thermometer.

Fast Temperature Measurement
Accurate measurement times as fast as 4 seconds
for oral temperature readings and 10 seconds for
axillary and rectal temperature measurements.
Self-Calibrating Electronics
Ensures that the thermometer automatically
recalibrates before each use.
Global Iconography
Easy-to-read iconography allows user to use ther-
mometer with precision, confidence, and comfort.
Specifically, it provides non-native English speakers
and users with clear and simple visual temperature
reading instructions.
Probe Covers
The probe cover material protects the probe from
patient handling, biting, bending, and body
solutions. These covers are made for single use only.
When used correctly, these probe covers prevent
cross-contamination.
Biotech OPTIONS SET-UP Mode
The following electronic set-up options can easily be
changed by a qualified biotech technician: Direct
mode, English language icon segments, sounds,
anti-theft system (electronic), back lighting.
Predictive / Direct Mode
The FasTemp thermometer can be used in either
normal or predictive mode allowing the user to
obtain accurate temperatures within 4-10 seconds
(predictive) or within 3-5 minutes in the direct mode
(a turtle icon identifies this mode). This provides the
users with the opportunity to take temperatures with
hypothermic patients as well.
Last Temperature Recall
Stores the last temperature obtained until the next is
taken.
Push Button Probe Cover Removal
Allows the user to discard probe easily without risk
of cross-contamination.
30 Seconds Pulse Timer
Provides a “beep” at 30 seconds to assist pulse
timing.
Temperature Range
The FILAC FasTemp has a 30º C to 43° C
(85° F to 110° F) temperature range.
