
CarbonMonoxide(CO)detectorsshouldbefittedinroomswithafuelburningappliancesuchasacentralheatingboiler
orgasfireandwherealotoftimeisspente.g.thekitchen,livingroomorbedroom.
Theyshouldnotbefittedinthebathroomorareassubjecttosteamorcondensation.

ChoosingaLocation

WhenfittedinthesameroomastheappliancetheCOdetectorshouldbewallmountedabovetheheightofanywindowordoor
butatleast150mmbelowceilinglevel.Ifceilingmounteditshouldbeatleast300mmfromanywall.Ineithercasethedetector
shouldbebetween1and3metresfromtheappliance.

Whenfittedinroomsremotefromtheappliancethedetectorshouldbewallmountedclosetothebreathingzoneofthe
occupant;inthelivingroomthiswillbeaboutheadheightofaseatedperson,inthebedroomthiswillbeaboutpillowheight.

TheCOdetectorshouldnotbelocatedinanenclosedspace,insideacupboard,behindacurtain,directlyabovethecookeror
sink,indraughtyareasnexttoadoororwindowornearanextractorfan.


Alwaysmakesurethecorrectdrillbitsandscrewdriversareused.

Installation–UsingScrewFixings(Recommended)

1. Removethetopcoverbypressingandslidingupwardsas
showninthediagramalongside.

2. Fixtherearsectiontothewallusingthescrewsandplugs
providedthrough2screwfixingholes.

3. Smoothlywithdrawthered“PULL”tabtoconnectthe
batteriesthenrefitthetopcover.


Installation–UsingSelfAdhesivePads

1. Selectthebestlocationwherethewallisclean,dryandeven.
IMPORTANT:forgoodadhesionthesurfacemustbeflat.

2. Cutoneoftheselfadhesivepadsinhalfandfixthe3pieces
totherearfaceoftheCOdetectorasshownalongside.

3. Removethebackingtapeandpressfirmlyagainstthewall
ensuringitisstucksecurely.

4. Followsteps1&3ofthescrewfixinginstructionsabove
toremovethetopcoverandconnectthebatteries.




TheGREEN,REDandYELLOWlightswillflashinsequence.TheGREENlightwillblinkevery45secondswhenactivated.

TheCOdetectorcannotbeturnedoff.WhenunitisapproachingitsendoflifeitwillemitabeepandflashtheGREENlightsimultaneouslyevery
45seconds.RemovethetopcoverandcuttheBLACKWIREtodeactivate(seedrawingabove).

TestingtheCODetector

PressandholdtheTEST&HUSHbuttonforatleast5seconds,
theGREENlightwillflashandthehornwillsound.

TheTEST&HUSHbuttonmustbepressedwhenregisteringtheCOdetector
ontothewardencallsystem,at‐homealarmorNursecallsystem.

Seethefollowingpagesforhowtoputeachoftheseproductsintoregistrationmode.

Therangeofallradiodevicescanbeaffectedbytheworkingenvironment.
Alwaystakecareduringinstallationandperformseveraltestcalls.

MaskTime&BatteryTest

COdetectorsincludea15minutemasktimetopreventalarmcallsre‐reporting
andanEngineersmaskreset/batterytestfunction.

Whenthedetectorisactivatedthealarmcallwillbetransmittedonce,nofurther
transmissionswilloccurfor15minutesgivingtimeforthecauseofthealarmtoclear.

Engineersmaskresetfunction;openthecover,pressandholdBUTTON1onthetransmitter
for2secondsuntiltheredlightflashesonce.Afterashortdelaytheredlightwillflashoncemore
toindicatethemasktimeisresetandthebatterypowerisOK.Iftheredlightflashesseveraltimesthebatterypowerislow.



IfapotentiallydangerouslevelofcarbonmonoxideisdetectedtheREDlightwillflashandtheaudiblealarmwillsound.


IfthealarmdoesnotsilencethelevelofCOisdangerouslyhigh(300ppm)

Ifthealarmdoesnotre‐soundafter4minutesitissafeforaqualifiedpersontofindthecauseofthealarm.
Ifthealarmcontinuesturntheapplianceoffanddonotuseuntilithasbeencheckedbyaqualifiedperson.
Getmedicalhelpforanyonesufferingheadachesornausea,advisethatcarbonmonoxidepoisoningissuspected.

