Installation–UsingScrewFixings
1. UndoSCREW“A”fromthebottomofthedetectorandremovethe
completelidassembly.
2. Drill‐outthe2mostsuitableFIXINGHOLES“B”insidetherearsection.
Usethisasatemplatetomarkthewall.
3. Beforedrillingthewallbesuretherearenoelectricalcables
orplumbingunderthesurface.
4. Usethescrews&plugsprovidedtofixtherearsectiontothewall
notingthecorrectorientation(seenextpageforPETALLEY).
5. Removetheinsulatingtabtoconnectthebatteries,
refitthelidandtightenthescrew.
Installation–UsingSelfAdhesivePads
UndoSCREW“A”andremovethelidassembly.
Removetheinsulatingtabtoconnectthebatteries.
Refitthelidandtightenthescrew.
Selectthebestlocationwherethewallsurfaceisclean,dryandeven.
Sticktheadhesivepadtotherearofthedetector.
Pressthedetectorfirmlyagainstthewallensuringitisstucksecurely.

WhenthePIRlidisremovedthetamperswitchwilloperateandtransmitanalarmsignal.Thiswillalsocheckthebatterycondition
(andreportanalarmiflow)toassistServiceEngineers.
ThetamperswitchshouldbeactivatedwhenlearningthePIRontotheReachat‐homealarmorAdventxtwardencallsystem.

Maintenance
Noroutinemaintenanceisrequired;howeverawalktestshouldbeperformedonceayeartoverifyoperation.
PIR’sarenotassusceptibletodustandcontaminationassomedetectorsbutitisstillrecommendedtocleanthemperiodically.
PIR’scanbedustedorwipedcleanwithadampcloth,neverusedetergentsorpolish.

Unlikesomedetectors,PIR’sarenotsusceptibletocontamination
frompaintfumesthereforenospecialprecautionsneedtobetaken.
BatteryLife
ThePIRcontains2longlifeLithiumbatteries.Undernormaloperatingconditions
(40activations/day)thebatteriesshouldlastforupto2years.
Thebatteryconditionischeckedonceaday,ifthevoltagefallsandstaysbelowa
presetlevelfor7consecutivedaysalowbatteryalertisautomaticallytransmitted.
Anotherlowbatterycallwillnotbetransmittedfor7days,thebatteriesshould
bereplacedwithin2weeksofthefirstlowbatterywarning.
Replacementbatteries:2xAAsizeEnergizerLithium–alwaysreplaceinpairs.
Takecaretorefitthebatteriesinthecorrectpolarity.
