1. Introduction
Dear customer, thank you for purchasing an
Ultracom Avius device. We work hard to bring you
the best quality and most reliable tracking devices.
We are condent in the quality of our devices and
therefore grant two-year warranty for the device.

We wish that you and your dog have a great
experience with your new Ultracom Avius device.
We welcome you to share the adventure with us –

2. Licenses to use VHF
radio devices
Use of the device may be subject to national
frequency licensing requirements.
One-way use of the device (no commands are sent
to the collar) may require one radio license, and
two-way use (commands are sent to the collar) may
require two radio licenses.
The owner of the device must check the radio
licensing requirements and, if necessary, acquire
the necessary licenses from the communications
authorities in the country of use.
Ultracom Ltd. accepts no liability for unauthorized
use of the device. Further information about radio
licenses can be obtained from the communications
authorities in the country of use.
3. Safety and maintenance instructions
3.1 Batteries and charger
Use only approved 3.7 V 18650 Li-Ion batteries and
chargers as recommended by the manufacturer. The
battery must be equipped with a protective circuit.
Batteries can be recommended by Ultracom Ltd.’s
authorized retailers or by the product manufacturer
itself.
Take note of the (+) and (-) symbols on the battery
when you are inserting it into the device or charger.
To ensure that you obtain the best possible life cycle
for the battery, only charge it when necessary. Do not
allow the batteries to remain unused for extended
periods. Always follow the recommendations of the
battery and charger manufacturer.
Before you begin using the device, charge the
batteries that will be used in the collar and host
device. The batteries do not need to be removed
from the device after every use. However, it is
recommended that the batteries be removed for
long periods of storage.
The capacity and operating duration of the
batteries will decrease when the batteries are used
a lot or if they are occasionally not used at all. It
is recommended that the batteries be replaced
annually to ensure that the device functions awlessly
and has a long operating duration.
3.2 Changing and shortening the collar part
You can detach the collar part from the device as
follows. Hold the device in one hand with your other
hand on the device’s battery compartment. With
your other hand, pull the collar from the clasp away
from the collar device. The collar part will slide away
from the device with ease.
To install a new collar into the device, thread the
collar carefully into the device with the tip facing
forward, beginning at the battery compartment.
You can also shorten the collar by cutting it to the
desired length. Do not cut sections of the collar
between the casings!
The collar can be washed without chemical cleaning
agents.
3.3 Replacing the antenna
You can replace the antenna on the Avius host
device yourself. Turn the antenna counterclockwise
by hand. Fix the new antenna by rotating it into the
connector clockwise (Figure A). Do not overtighten
the antenna.
Note! The antenna on the collar cannot be replaced
by the user. The antenna must be replaced by an
ofcial Ultracom service point.
3.4 Other matters of note
The accuracy provided by the GPS device may be
impacted by factors such as unfavorable satellite
locations, large buildings, natural obstructions and
the prevailing weather conditions.
GPS should never be used to identify locations
precisely and you should never rely solely on the
location data provided by GPS receivers. The maps
may contain errors and the location
reported by GPS may also be erroneous or
problematic to obtain.

Always wait until you have one location before
releasing the dog onto the terrain. This will enable
you to check the battery level and ensure that the
device is functioning awlessly.
The signal quality between the collar and the host
device may be impacted by natural obstructions or
buildings. The signal will be best when there is an
unobstructed line of sight.
You can improve the signal by moving to a more
elevated area compared to the collar.
Do not bend the section between the electronic
casings beyond its natural curvature.
One Avius host device can connect up to 50 Avius
collars.
4. Starting up and using the device
4.1 Installing batteries
Charge the batteries before installing them into the
collar and host device.
Remove the covers of the battery compartments by
turning the covers counterclockwise. Insert a single
3.7 V 18650-sized Li-Ion battery into the battery
compartments of the collar and the host device. Take
note of the (+) and (-) symbols on the battery and the
battery compartments (Figure B and Figure C).
Close the covers to the battery compartments by
turning them clockwise. Do not overtighten the
covers!
4.2 Starting up the devices
Start up the host device by pressing the power
button on the host device (Figure D). A green LED
light on the host device will illuminate for three
seconds to indicate that the device is starting up.
If the host device’s battery is low, a red LED light will
illuminate for three seconds instead of the green
LED light.
Start up the collar by placing the magnet icon on
the host device (Figure E) near the power icon on
the side of the collar’s battery compartment (Figure
F). Hold the host device against the collar for a few
seconds and the green LED light on the collar’s GPS
compartment will illuminate for three seconds to
indicate that the device is starting up.
The collar and host device will pair with each other
the rst time they start up. In the future, the devices
will establish a connection automatically when they
start up.
Take the collar outdoors so it can connect to the
satellites. While the collar is searching for satellites,
the green LED light will blink once a second. When
the collar has discovered a sufcient number of
satellites to provide an accurate location, the green
LED light on the collar will blink once every three
seconds.
4.3 Adding the Avius device to the
Ultracom application
The Ultracom mobile application is required
to use the device. Open your mobile device’s
application store (Android: Google Play, Apple iOS:
Apple App Store) and search the store using the
keyword “Ultracom”. Please note that the minimum
operating system of the mobile device must be at
least Android 4.0 or Apple iOS 8.0.
Download and install the Ultracom application. Start
up the application and proceed with registration.
You can nd the full application manual from our
website www.ultracom..
Open the Ultracom application on the mobile
device. Open the main menu and select “Add
Device…”. From the menu select “Avius”. On the
“Device ID” eld input your Avius device ID number.
You can nd the Avius device ID number on the rst
page of this manual in the device type sticker. You
can also nd the device ID number in a sticker under
the collar of the Avius device.
Input other necessary info like device name and
password to the application and select “Save”.
From the devices list select the Avius device that
you added. Activate the AviusLINK discovery and
give the application permission to start Bluetooth on
your phone. If the host device is not shown on the
Avius Discovery list, start the scan again by selecting
“Scan” on the screen.
Note! Pairing of the Avius host device has to be
done only once. Pairing has to be done again if
the device pair has been removed from the mobile
device. In the future, the Avius host device and
your mobile device will establish the Bluetooth
connection automatically. Pairing is not necessary to
set up every time you use the device.
The blue LED light on the host device will blink once
a second until it is connected to the mobile device.
4.4 Changing the Bluetooth mode of the
host device
If connecting to the mobile device using the default

Bluetooth mode of the Avius host device is not
successful, try to change the Bluetooth mode by
holding down the connection button for 6 seconds
(the button that is located under the power button
of the host device). After the host device blinks the
green LED light, release the button and wait for the
host device to change its Bluetooth mode.
After the host device has changed the Bluetooth
mode, the blue LED light will blink twice per second
until the connection to the phone is successful.
When the connection has been established to the
mobile device, the blue LED light will blink once per
three seconds.
Note that after changing the Bluetooth mode,
the AviusLINK has to be reset from the Ultracom
application’s settings menu and the Bluetooth
pairing has to be established again. This is done
by opening the main menu, selecting “Settings”,
opening the additional menu from the upper right
corner and selecting “Reset AviusLINK”.
4.5 Attaching the collar to the dog
When the devices are ready for use, you can attach
the collar around the dog’s neck. Tighten the collar
around the dog’s neck to a suitable tightness and
close the buckle carefully. Put the collar around the
dog’s neck in such a way that the collar’s battery
compartment is below the dog’s neck. The position
of the GPS compartment with the LED lights varies
depending on the circumference of the dog’s neck.
It is a good idea to wait until the satellites have
been found before placing the collar around the
dog’s neck. It is recommended that you wait until
you have one location before releasing the dog so
you can check that the battery has enough charge
and that the collar and host device are working
awlessly.
4.6 Turning off the devices
Turn off the collar by placing the magnet icon on the
back of the host device (Figure E) against the power
icon on the collar (Figure F). Hold the host device
against the collar until the LED lights on the collar
go out.
The host device can be turned off by holding down
the power button on the host device (Figure D) for
three seconds. The LED light on the host device will
illuminate for three seconds, after which the LED
lights on the host device will go out.
5. Other functions
5.1 Pairing additional collars with the host device
One host device can receive location data from
several Avius collars (max. 50 collars). The collars can
be added in the Ultracom application by opening
the main menu, selecting “Add Device…”, selecting
“Avius” from the menu, inputting ID, name and
password, and selecting “Save”. The device appears
on your devices list.
5.2 Updating the devices
The rmware on the Avius host device and the
Avius collar can be updated using the Ultracom
application.
Start the Avius host device and collar. The rmware
update is done in the Ultracom application’s info
menu.
Please see the latest update instructions on our
website in the Avius support area.
5.3 Indication of a connection between the
mobile device and the host device
When a Bluetooth connection has been established
between the mobile device and the host device,
the blue LED light on the host device will blink once
every three seconds.
If the Bluetooth connection to the mobile device
breaks off, the blue LED light on the host device will
blink once a second. The Ultracom application will
also report that the connection has disconnected.
Follow the instructions provided by the Ultracom
application to re-establish the connection.
5.4 Indication of a connection between
the collar and the host device
The green LED light on the host device will blink to
indicate that data is being received from the collar
selected in the application.
If you have not selected an Avius collar in the
Ultracom application, a blinking LED light indicates
the presence of other Avius collars in the range of
the host device.

giver derfor to års garanti på enheden.

2. Licenser til brug af
VHF-radioenheder
Brug af enheden kan være underlagt nationale krav
til frekvenslicenser.
Envejsanvendelse af enheden (der sendes ingen
kommandoer til halsbåndet) kan medføre krav om
én radiolicens, og tovejsanvendelse (der sendes
kommandoer til halsbåndet) kan medføre krav om to
radiolicenser.
Enhedens ejer skal kontrollere kravene til radiolicens
og ved behov anskaffe de nødvendige licenser fra
kommunikationsmyndighederne i det land, hvor
enheden anvendes.
Ultracom Ltd. påtager sig intet ansvar for
uautoriseret anvendelse af enheden. Flere
oplysninger om radiolicenser kan indhentes fra
kommunikationsmyndighederne i
det land, hvor enheden anvendes.
3. Sikkerheds- og
vedligeholdelsesinstruktioner
3.1 Batterier og oplader
Brug kun godkendte 3,7 V 18650 Li-Ion-batterier og
opladere som anbefalet af producenten. Batterier
skal have en beskyttelseskreds.
Batterier kan anbefales af Ultracom Ltd.'s
autoriserede forhandlere eller af produktets
producent.
Vær opmærksom på (+)- og (-)-symbolerne på
batterierne, når du sætter dem i enheden eller
opladeren.
Oplad kun batterier, når det nødvendigt. Dermed
opnår du længst mulig batterilevetid. Lad ikke
batterierne være ubrugte i lange perioder. Følg
altid anbefalingerne fra producenten af batterier og
oplader.
Oplad de batterier, som du skal bruge i halsbåndet
og værtsenheden, inden du begynder at bruge
enheden. Det er ikke nødvendigt at fjerne
batterierne fra enheden efter hver brug. Det
anbefales dog, at du tager batterierne ud af
enheden under lange opbevaringsperioder.
Batteriernes kapacitet og driftstid reduceres, hvis
de bruges meget, eller hvis de sommetider slet ikke
bruges. Vi anbefaler, at du udskrifter batterierne en
gang om året for at sikre, at enheden fungerer uden
problemer og har en lang driftstid.
3.2 Udskiftning og afkortning af halsbåndet
Du kan tage halsbåndet af enheden på følgende
måde. Hold enheden med den ene hånd, og hav
din anden hånd på enhedens batterikammer. Brug
den anden hånd til at trække halsbåndet
fra klemmen væk fra halsbåndenheden.
Halsbåndsdelen kan nemt skydes væk fra
enheden.
Stop det nye halsbånd forsigtigt ind i enheden med
spidsen pegende fremad. Start i den ende, hvor
batterikammeret sidder.
Du kan også afkorte halsbåndet ved at skære det til
i den ønskede længde. Skær ikke i de områder af
halsbåndet, der bender sig mellem kamrene!
Halsbåndet kan vaskes uden brug af kemiske
rengøringsmidler.
3.3 Udskiftning af antennen
Du kan selv udskifte antennen på Avius-
værtsenheden. Drej antennen mod uret med
hånden. Fastgør den nye antenne ved at dreje den
med uret på plads i antennestikket (gur A). Stram
ikke antennen for hårdt.
Bemærk! Brugeren kan ikke udskifte antennen på
halsbåndet. Antennen skal udskiftes af en autoriseret
Ultracom-servicetekniker.
3.4 Andre vigtige oplysninger
GPS-enhedens nøjagtighed kan blive påvirket
af faktorer som ugunstig satellitplacering,
store bygninger, naturlige forhindringer og
vejrforholdene.
GPS må aldrig bruges til at identicere steder
nøjagtigt, og du skal aldrig stole alene på
placeringsdata, som GPS-modtagere angiver.
Kortene kan indeholde fejl, og den placering,

DK som rapporteres af GPS, kan også være fejlbehæftet
eller problematisk at opnå.
Vent altid, til du har en placering, før du slipper
hunden ud i terrænet. På den måde kan du tjekke
batteriniveauet og sikre dig, at enheden fungerer
problemfrit.
Signalkvaliteten mellem halsbåndet og
værtsenheden kan blive påvirket af naturlige
forhindringer eller bygninger. Signalet er bedst, når
der er uhindret sigt.
Du kan forbedre signalet ved at ytte dig til et
højere beliggende område end halsbåndet.
Bøj ikke delen mellem elektronikkamrene mod dens
naturlige bøjning.
Én Avius-værtsenhed kan oprette forbindelse til op
50 til Avius-halsbånd.
4. Start og brug af enheden
4.1 Isætning af batterier
Oplad batterierne, inden du sætter dem i
halsbåndet og værtsenheden.
Fjern dækslerne på batterikamrene ved at dreje dem
mod uret. Placer et enkelt 3,7 V 18650-størrelse
Li-Ion-batteri i batterikammeret på halsbåndet
og værtsenheden. Vær opmærksom på (+)- og
(-)-symbolerne på batteriet og batterikammeret
(gur B og C) .
Luk dækslerne til batterikamrene ved at dreje dem
med uret. Stram ikke dækslerne for hårdt.
4.2 Start af enhederne
Start værtsenheden ved at trykke på tænd/sluk-
knappen (gur D). LED-lampen på værtsenheden
lyser grønt i tre sekunder for at angive, at enheden
tændes.
Hvis batteriniveauet på værtsenheden er lavt, lyser
en rød LED-lampe i tre sekunder i stedet for den
grønne lampe.
Start halsbåndet ved at placere magnetikonet
på værtsenheden (gur E) tæt på strømikonet
på siden af halsbåndets batterikammer (gur F).
Hold værtsenheden hen mod halsbåndet et par
sekunder. Den grønne LED-lampe på halsbåndets
GPS-kammer lyser i tre sekunder for at angive, at
enheden starter.
Halsbåndet og værtsenheden parres med
hinanden, første gang de startes. Fremover opretter
enhederne automatisk forbindelse, når de starter.
Tag halsbåndet udenfor, så det kan oprette
forbindelse til satellitterne. Mens halsbåndet søger
efter satellitter, blinker den grønne LED-lampe en
gang i sekundet. Når halsbåndet har identiceret et
tilstrækkeligt antal satellitter til at kunne angive en
nøjagtig placering, blinker den grønne LED-lampe
på halsbåndet en gang hvert tredje sekund.
4.3 Tilføjelse af Avius-enheden til Ultracom-appen
Ultracom-mobilappen er nødvendig, for at du kan
bruge enheden. Åbn din mobilenheds appstore
(Android: Google Play, Apple iOS: Apple App
Store), og søg efter den ønskede store ved
hjælp af nøgleordet "Ultracom". Bemærk, at
operativsystemet på mobilenheden som minimum
skal være Android 4.0 eller Apple iOS 8.0.
Download og installér Ultracom-appen. Start appen,
og fortsæt med registreringen. Du nder den
komplette appvejledning på vores websted www.
ultracom..
Åbn Ultracom-mobilappen på mobilenheden. Åbn
hovedmenuen, og vælg "Add Device…" [Tilføj
enhed]. Vælg "Avius" i menuen. Angiv Avius-
enhedens id-nummer i feltet "Device ID" [Enheds-
id].
Du nder id-nummeret for Avius-enheden på
typeetiketten på første side i denne vejledning.
Id-nummeret ndes også på en mærkning under
halsbåndet på Avius-enheden.
Angiv andre nødvendige oplysninger, blandt andet
enhedsnavn og adgangskode til appen, og vælg
"Save" [Gem]. Vælg den Avius-enhed, du tilføjede,
på enhedslisten. Aktivér registrering af AviusLINK,
og giv appen tilladelse til at starte Bluetooth på din
telefon. Hvis værtsenheden ikke vises på Avius-
registreringslisten, skal du starte scanning igen ved
at vælge "Scan" på skærmen.
Bemærk! Parring af Avius-værtsenheden skal kun
udføres én gang. Parring skal foretages igen, hvis
enhedsparret er blevet fjernet fra mobilenheden.
Fremover vil Avius-værtsenheden og mobilenheden
automatisk oprette Bluetooth-forbindelse. Det er
ikke nødvendigt at opsætte parring, hver gang du
bruger enheden.
Den blå LED-lampe på værtsenheden blinker
en gang i sekundet, indtil den har forbindelse til
mobilenheden.

4.4 Ændring af Bluetooth-tilstand på
værtsenheden
Hvis det ikke lykkes at oprette forbindelse til
mobilenheden i Bluetooth-standardtilstand på Avius-
værtsenheden, kan du prøve at ændre Bluetooth-
tilstanden ved at holde forbindelsesknappen nede i
6 sekunder (knappen bender sig under tænd/sluk-
knappen på værtsenheden). Når den grønne LED-
lampe på værtsenheden begynder at blinke, skal du
slippe knappen og vente på, at værtsenheden skifter
Bluetooth-tilstand.
Efter at værtsenheden har skiftet Bluetooth-tilstand,
blinker den blå LED-lampe to gange i sekundet,
indtil der er oprettet forbindelse til telefonen. Når
der er oprettet forbindelse til mobilenheden, blinker
den blå LED-lampe en gang hvert tredje sekund.
Bemærk, at når der er skiftet Bluetooth-tilstand,
skal AviusLINK nulstilles via Ultracom-appens
indstillingsmenu, og Bluetooth-parringen
skal foretages igen. Det gør du ved at åbne
hovedmenuen og vælge "Settings" [Indstillinger],
åbne den ekstra menu øverst til højre og vælge
"Reset AviusLINK" [Nulstil AviusLINK].
4.5 Fastgørelse af halsbåndet på hunden
Når enhederne er klar til brug, kan du fastgøre
halsbåndet rundt om hundens hals. Træk i
halsbåndet, så det sidder sikkert rundt om
hundens hals, og luk spændet forsigtigt. Anbring
halsbåndet rundt om hundens hals, så halsbåndets
batterikammer er under hundens hals. Afhængig af
omkredsen på hundens hals vil GPS-kammeret med
LED-lamperne sidde lidt forskelligt.
Det er en god ide at vente, indtil satellitterne er
fundet, inden du placerer halsbåndet om hundens
hals. Det anbefales, at du venter, til du har en
placering, inden du slipper hunden løs, så du kan
tjekke, at batteriet er tilstrækkeligt opladet, og at
halsbåndet og værtsenheden fungerer problemfrit.
4.6 Slukning af enhederne
Sluk for halsbåndet ved at placere magnetikonet på
bagsiden af værtsenheden (gur E) mod strømikonet
på halsbåndet (gur F). Hold værtsenheden mod
halsbåndet, indtil LED-lamperne på halsbåndet
slukker.
Du kan slukke værtsenheden ved at holde tænd/
sluk-knappen på værtsenheden (gur D) nede i tre
sekunder. LED-lampen på værtsenheden lyser
i tre sekunder, hvorefter LED-lamperne på
værtsenheden slukker.
5. Andre funktioner
5.1 Parring af yderligere halsbånd med
værtsenheden
Én værtsenhed kan modtage placeringsdata
fra adskillige Avius-halsbånd (maks. 50). Du kan
tilføje halsbåndene i Ultracom-appen ved at åbne
hovedmenuen, vælge "Add Device…" [Tilføj
enhed], vælge "Avius" fra menuen, indtaste id, navn
og adgangskode og vælge "Save" [Gem]. Enheden
vises på enhedslisten.
5.2 Opdatering af enhederne
Firmwaren på Avius-værtsenheden og Avius-
halsbåndet kan opdateres ved hjælp af Ultracom-
appen.
Start Avius-værtsenheden og -halsbåndet.
Firmwareopdateringen udføres i Ultracom-appens
infomenu.
Du nder den seneste opdateringsvejledning på
vores websted i Avius-supportområdet.
5.3 Angivelse af en forbindelse mellem
mobilenheden og værtsenheden
Når der er oprettet Bluetooth-forbindelse mellem
mobilenheden og værtsenheden, blinker den blå
LED-lampe på værtsenheden en gang hvert tredje
sekund.
Hvis Bluetooth-forbindelsen til mobilenheden
afbrydes, vil den blå LED-lampe på værtsenheden
blinke en gang i sekundet. Ultracom-appen vil
også rapportere, at forbindelsen er afbrudt. Følg
vejledningen i Ultracom-appen for at oprette
forbindelse igen.
5.4 Angivelse af en forbindelse mellem
halsbåndet og værtsenheden
Den grønne LED-lampe på værtsenheden blinker for
at angive, at der modtages data fra det halsbånd,
som er valgt i appen.
Hvis du ikke har valgt et Avius-halsbånd i
Ultracom-appen, angiver en blinkende LED-lampe
tilstedeværelsen af andre Avius-halsbånd inden for
værtsenhedens rækkevidde.
