To Clean/ Change Contaminated Water
Remove large water bucket and filter assembly from under the machine.
Sprink e into water one bottle of “UNI-COAG”. Stir in the powder using the mixing paddle provided
for at least 2 minutes. It is very important that the powder is thoroughly stirred into the contaminated
water for coagulation to take place.
Leave to stand and within 5 minutes the water will clear.
When the water is clear place the ilter Assembly over a foul water drain and pour away the water
collecting the paint residue in the ilter Cloth Bag. (providing permission from the Local Water
Authority has been granted. Otherwise the water can be reused or disposed of in accordance with
the local regulations).
Remove the ilter Cloth Bag and place in paint oven to assist the drying, or leave to dry outside. The
residue reduces by approximately two thirds and reverts to a powder from which can be disposed of
with your solid waste.

MAI TE A CE CHECK:
Grid Filter:
It is recommended that the Green Grid Filter inside the tank under the Work Screen is
changed once a month.
Suction Filter:
It is recommended that the Suction Filter be cleared thoroughly every time the cleaning
fluid is replaced.
Please note:
If the Suction Filter is damaged or removed, the Pump Warranty is void.
Lubrication:
The air valve is lubricated at the factory and designed to operate without additional
lubrication. If added lubrication is desired, every 500 hours of operation (or monthly)
Remove the hose from the pump air inlet and add two drops of machine oil to the air
inlet.
The Unic range of Gun Cleaning Machines are Category 2 equipment that is suitable for
Apparatus Groups (Gas groups) IIA, IIB and IIC, with a temperature class of T6.

Unic International (UK)
Health & Safety Data Sheet
Information supplied in accordance with section 6 of the health and safety at work etc. Act 1974
PRODUCT NAME UNIC POWERCLEAN SPRAY GUN CLEANING UNIT.
USES Removal of paint from Spray guns, cups and hoses.
GENERAL Before operating Powerclean Spray Gun Cleaning System, operators must be
PRECAUTIONS familiar with the correct operating procedures as detailed in the manufacturer’s
Operating Manual.
Do not tamper with the safety lid switch, which prevents the unit operating in the
cleaning mode when the lid is open.
Close drain valve and close lid when the unit is not in use. All solvent should be
drained from the cleaning tank before closing the drain valve.
Inspect solvent storage compartment daily to ensure there is no leaks from the
solvent containers.
Replace solvent filter pad frequently (bimonthly replacement of the filter pad is
recommended)
Always disconnect the air source before performing maintenance tasks.
IRE HAZARDS Do not smoke or use other ignition sources near the cabinet.
E.g. no hot work, such as welding.
HEALTH HAZARDS The cleaning solvent used will contain substances hazardous to health, typically
acetone, methanol, white spirit, xylene and toluene. Air monitoring carried out
with a recommended cleaning thinner has shown that concentrations do not
exceed exposure limits published by the Health and Safety Executive. Levels
were less than 50% of the mixed short-term exposure limit when the lid was
open for removal of the spray gun, cups and hoses and just 6% of the limit
during the cleaning cycle. Substances in the solvent however can be absorbed
through the skin, see personal protection equipment.
VENTILATION A local exhaust ventilation system as supplied with the machines, should be
installed so that vapours are safely vented to atmosphere away from windows
and other air inlets. In accordance with the Control of Substances Hazardous to
Health regulations 1988 the system should be maintained and undergo a
thorough examination.
PERSONAL Suitable gloves must be worn when replacing and removing spray guns from the
PROTECTION cleaning machine. Most glove manufacturers recommend Nitrile gloves for the
EQUIPMENT solvent xylene and toluene, which can be absorbed through the skin.
WASTE DISPOSAL Waste solvent must be removed by a registered carrier to a disposal or recovery
facility licensed to receive waste solvent.
EMERGENCY IRE
ACTION In case of fire, use a form of dry powder extinguishing agent. Cool solvent drums
exposed to fire with water spray.
IRST AID
Eye contact with solvent- irrigate with clean water. Skin contact with solvent-
remove contaminated clothing, wash skin thoroughly with soap and water.
Excess inhalation of solvent vapours – Remove to fresh air, seek medical
attention
Accidental Ingestion – Do not induce vomiting, seek medical attention.
SPILLAGE O SOLVENT
Contain and collect with non-combustible materials E.g. sand and earth. Do not
allow to enter drains. Exclude sources of ignition. Ventilate area.
