Overview
Use this document to set up and configure a UniFocus Time so that it can connect to a wireless network.
Prerequisites
•If you are attaching the Time Clock to a wireless network that requires a wireless password or
key, you must have this information before connecting the clock.
•Splash or landing pages must be disabled for the UniFocus wireless Time Clocks to connect.
Connecting the clock
1. Contact our Partner Success Team for Login information.
2. Connect a USB keyboard to the Time Clock.
3. From the Time Clock screen, press Ctrl+Alt+F2 to go to a command line or terminal text window.
4. Enter the following:
•Username
•Password
Note: When entering the password, no characters will appear.
5. From this prompt, type the command: /uftc/netconfig
6. Press Enter.

This Wireless Network(s) screen appears. It will scan for any available wireless devices.
Use arrow keys and information at the bottom of the screen to navigate and configure your
network.
7. To configure a connection to a wireless access point, use arrow keys to select the wireless router to
which you want to connect, and then press the right arrow key ( > ) to configure.
Consult your IT department for any specific settings required here.
8. Typically, the only actions you need to perform on this screen are as follows:
1. Use the space bar to select the check box for Automatically connect to this network.
2. Enter the wireless password / key.
3. Press F10 to save.
You return to the main screen.
9. With the wireless router that you selected, press Shift+C to connect to the wireless network.

The section under the menu bar shows the connection progress and should end with:
Connect to WirelessName at xx% (IP: ipaddress)
If you get an IP address under the menu options, you are connected.
10. Press Shift+Q to exit the configuration screen.
11. At the command prompt, type: sudo reboot
12. Press Enter.
The Time Clock reboots, and the configuration is complete.
When the Time Clock reloads, it displays the online indicator in the upper-left corner of the screen.

•Is communication 1-way or 2-way? —Although communication goes both ways, communication
initiated by the Time Clock could be considered outbound.
•Able to configure Proxy? —Yes.
•IP address of host—Units connect to a URL, which could resolve to any of the ranges listed
below:
o74.124.22.64 through 26
o108.166.171.192 through 26
o198.161.237.0 through 24
o802.11 Bands - A, B, G, All, etc. - Supports wireless bands IEEE 802.11abgn
