SET UP GUIDE
Thank you for choosing
MePOS for your Point of Sale.
It’s great to have you as part
of the MePOS family.
MePOS has everything you need to run
your business, right out of the box. Your
MePOS charges your tablet and your card
reader. You can also detach them and
connect them together to process orders
and transactions on the go with MePOS
Mobile. And MePOS works in multiple
modes so it can fit with your Point of Sale.
A 12-month license for award-winning
Epos Now software is included along with
24/7 customer support, including set up
support. Suitable for any industry, Epos
Now works on any device, sits in the
cloud but is also available offline and offers
in depth reporting. You can also expand
with over 130 apps available on the Epos
Now app store including Shopify, Sage and
Quickbooks.
So, let’s set you up so you can start trading.

Let’s get started!
1. Remove your MePOS Main Base Unit from the box. 2. Place your MePOS Main Base Unit on its side to
access the power input and other connections.

3. Connect USB peripherals and your cash drawer
4. Locate and connect the power supply. 5. Please make sure all cables are routed through cable
retainers as shown.

7. Open the Main Base Unit.
6. Turn the Main Base Unit the right way up.

9. Remove and unwrap the paper roll.
8. Open the lid of the printer
10. Place paperoll in printer as shown above, please make
sure the paper roll is the right way up.

11. Please make sure the paper roll is forward of the
MePOS Main Base Unit before the lid of the printer is
closed, as shown above.
12. Shut the printer by pressing down until it clicks
then shut the Main Base Unit lid.

13. Locate your Tablet and card reader. 14. Detach your card reader from your tablet by depressing
the button shown.

16. Attach your card reader to the MePOS Payment Pillar.15. Attach your tablet to the MePOS Tablet Tower.

17. Plug in the MePOS power cable and turn on your
MePOS by switching the ‘on’ switch from ‘0’ to ‘1’.
18. Your MePOS should now receive power and your tablet
and card reader should power up. The first diagnostic LED
on your MePOS should light up green if power is being
received. If this light is not green, check your connections
and try again.

21. Open your browser from your tablet home screen and
go to: www.mepos.io/eposnow and follow the instructions
to set up your Epos Now point of sale software.
19. Turn on your tablet by pressing and holding the top left
button as indicated below, until the Lenovo logo appears.
Note: you may need to allow your tablet to charge before use.
20. Follow the on screen set up for your tablet until
you see the tablet home screen.

MePOS is not a toy. Keep it away from children.

plastic bags away from babies and children to avoid
danger of suffocation.
WARNING this product contains chemicals known
to the State of California to cause cancer, and birth
defects or reproductive harm.
Heat generation
In normal operation the MePOS power supply unit,
MePOS main base unit and peripherals may become
warm. Ensure that there is adequate ventilation
around the entire MePOS device and its peripherals
including the power supply unit.
Do not modify, disassemble, open, drop, crush,
puncture or shred the product. Do not insert foreign
objects into MePOS, its peripherals or its power
supply. Do not place heavy objects onto any part of
MePOS or its power supply. MePOS operating
environment is as follows. Do not exceed these
parameters. Operating Temperature: 0 deg C to 40
deg C (32 deg F to 104 deg F) Atmospheric
pressure range: Maximum a.s.l. 2000 m (6562 f t)
Do not expose or saturate MePOS to rain, water or
other liquids.
Do not immerse MePOS. Only use a soft dry cloth to
clean the device.
Do not expose MePOS to naked/open flame,
flammable sources, liquids or gases.
Do not power or operate MePOS under any fabric or
material cover.
Ensure all ventilation slots are clear of obstruction.
Only use MePOS indoors.
Where MePOS requires assembly of peripherals
ensure that the procedures illustrated in this
document are followed.
Do not attempt to force connection of peripherals
into the wrong port. Damage will occur and/or risk
of electric shock and/or fire.
Power Supply
MePOS requires a minimum 120W power supply unit
compatible with Efficiency Level VI or better that
accepts mains voltage input 100-240V AC 50/60Hz
depending on region and outputs 24V DC rated at
peak 9A , operating at 5A. Do not use a power
supply unit that does not meet or exceed this
specification.
Use of MePOS with a power supply unit other than
that supplied will invalidate the FCC and CE
compliance mark.
The supplied MePOS power supply unit is designed
to work with single-phase power system having a
grounded neutral conductor.
Electrical caution
To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not plug the
MePOS power supply unit into any other type of
power system. Contact a facilities manager or a
qualified electrician if unsure what type of mains
power is supplied to the building.
To avoid risk of electric shock, the supplied power
supply unit must only be connected to supply mains
with protective earth.
MePOS power supply units are shipped with a
grounding type (three-wire) power cord. To reduce
the risk of electric shock, the cord must be plugged
into a grounded power outlet that provides a
protective earth.
To avoid risk of electric shock during servicing/
maintenance, the MePOS power supply unit must be
disconnected when accessing internal components.

disconnected when adding or disconnecting
peripheral equipment.
Only use fuses of same type and rating.
Make sure that the cordset and power-cable are
never crimped nor damaged.
Check the equipment, its peripherals, power supply
and the power-cable periodically for damage.
Unique Secure and the organisation you purchased
your product from cannot accept responsibility for
any failure to satisfy the protection requirements
resulting from a non-recommended modification of
the product.
Changes or modifications to this unit not expressly
approved by the party responsible for compliance
could void the user’s authority to operate the
equipment.
Please note that damages caused by user
modifications to this equipment are not subject to
warranty and may invalidate product compliance.
In order to ensure compliance with U.S. FCC and
E.U. CE marking requirements for product safety
and compatibility, MePOS must only use the power
supply, power cord, and any peripherals including
interface cables which are specifically sold for use
with MePOS. European Union-Compliance to the
Electromagnetic Compatibility Directive. This
product is in conformity with the protection
requirements of EU Council Directive (2014/30/EU)
on the approximation of the laws of the Member
States relating to electromagnetic compatibility.

These limits are designed to provide reasonable
protection against harmful interference in a
residential installation. This equipment generates,
uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if
not installed and used in accordance with the
instructions, may cause harmful interference to
radio communications. However, there is no
guarantee that interference will not occur in a
particular installation. If this equipment does cause
harmful interference to radio or television reception,
which can be determined by turning the equipment
off and on, the user is encouraged to try to correct
the interference by one or more of the following
measures:
Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
Increase the separation between the equipment and
rece iver.
• Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit
different from that to which the receiver is

This equipment must be installed and used in strict
accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.

be determined by turning the equipment off and on,

modification of this equipment or the substitution or
attachment of connecting cables and equipment
other than those specified by Unique Secure.
The correction of interferences caused by such
unauthorized modification, substitution or
attachment will be the responsibility of the user.
Faults & Repairs
If the MePOS equipment or its power supply or
other peripheral is dropped or damaged, disconnect
the mains power supply immediately. Have a
qualified engineer inspect the equipment before
operating again.
Before your initial start-up, please make sure that
there is no damage caused during transportation.
Should there be any, consult distributor and do not
use the MePOS equipment.
If MePOS has been exposed to drastic temperature
fluctuation for example after transportation, do not
switch it on immediately. Leave the equipment
switched off until it has reached room temperature.
This ensures any condensation that might damage
the equipment has evaporated.
If MePOS fails to function correctly, discontinue use
immediately. Pack the unit securely (preferably in
the original packing material) and return it to
distributor for service.
Repairs, servicing and power connection must only
be carried out by a qualified technician. Please note
that damages caused by user modifications to this
equipment are not subject to warranty and may
invalidate product compliance.
