Key Benefits
USB convenience and ease of use
The Universal Serial Bus (USB) provides a simple
Plug and Play installation. The 56K* Fa modem USB
modem is hot-swappable (installs/uninstalls
automatically) and is bus-powered so it doesn't
require an e ternal power supply.
Internet Call Notification (ICN) puts you in charge
of incoming calls
ICN monitors online activity and lets you take full
advantage of Modem on Hold – choose to accept
or reject incoming calls while online.
ControlCenter for optimum modem performance
ControlCenter supports Modem on Hold and allows
you to configure V.PCM speeds. Instant Update can
download software updates automatically to your PC.

56K*Faxmodem USB
Supports V.92†and V.90
U.S. Robotics is proud to introduce the V.92
international standard. V.92 offers more fle ibility
and greater control over your Internet e perience
than ever before. The U.S. Robotics 56K Fa modem
USB modem with V.92 technology offers not only
fast downloads but great new features as well.
Modem on Hold makes the most of Call Waiting,
Caller ID, and voice mail services from your phone
company. If you take an incoming call using ICN, the
modem “suspends” your online session during your
conversation and lets you resume it afterwards
without redialing. If you ignore the call, it will be
routed automatically to your voice mail.
Quick Connect reduces the time it takes to make a
connection to your service provider. By “remembering”
the line conditions from the previous connection, the
modem can bypass portions of its training sequence
and get you online faster.
V.PCM Upst eam allows the modem’s upstream
communication to reach speeds of up to 48 Kbps.
With ControlCenter software, you choose whether to
maintain the fastest possible downstream speed or a
“balanced” connection of downstream and upstream
communication.
The USB connector makes setting up and using the
U.S. Robotics 56K Fa modem USB modem a snap.
And because it is USB powered, no e ternal power
supply is required for operation.
Even first-time modem users will find the U.S. Robotics
56K Fa modem USB modem simple to install. All of the
necessary fa software and V.92-enabling utilities are
included on the Installation CD-ROM.
