About Lady-Comp
Lady-Comp calculates a woman’s daily menstrual cycle status by interpreting
her basal body temperature. Lady-Comp displays your menstrual cycle status
using colored display screens with symbols. Lady-Comp is to be used to
facilitate conception and track your cycle. Lady-Comp is not a replacement
for contraception, nor is it a medical thermometer.

Precautions
– Before using your Lady-Comp for the first time, please read these
instructions carefully and keep them in a safe place for later reference.
– Before you start using your Lady-Comp, you need to entirely discontinue
hormonal methods of birth control.
– Lady-Comp is not suitable if you are undergoing hormonal treatment,
or if you are using hormonal methods of birth control.
– Important: The first bleeding after stopping the pill or other hormonal
contraceptive methods is a hormonal withdrawal bleeding and not a
menstruation. DO NOT enter this bleeding as a menstruation.
– Lady-Comp does not protect you from sexually transmitted diseases.
– Never chew on the sensor.
– Take care that the appliance or parts thereof are not swallowed.
– WARNING: The device must not be modified.
– WARNING: Avoid using Lady-Comp at or less than 30cm away from other
electrical equipment, as this could result in improper operation.
– WARNING: Use of accessories, cables or equipment other than those
specified in this document may cause electrical interference or lead to
failure of Lady-Comp.
– Do not expose your Lady-Comp to high temperatures (e.g. boiling water).
– Do not expose your Lady-Comp to direct sunlight for long periods of time.
– Only take measurements in your mouth.
– Do not insert the measuring sensor too far into your mouth.
– Do not take measurements if the housing, the cable or the measurement
sensor is broken.
– Do not take measurements if you have an injury in your mouth.
– Do not expose your Lady-Comp to heavy mechanical loads.
– Only take measurements when the USB cable is NOT connected.

– Do not stick sharp objects into your Lady-Comp.
– If your Lady-Comp causes irritation to your skin, we recommend you stop
using it immediately and contact our Customer Support as soon as possible.
– Lady-Comp is a personal device. It must not be shared with another person.
If you want to share Lady-Comp with a friend, you have to delete your
data first.
– Only pass on Lady-Comp to third parties complete with the instructions for
use. You will also find the instructions and further useful information available
for download at lady-comp.com/start
– As the user, you have access to every feature of your Lady-Comp. You may
also clean the sensor yourself, when your Lady-Comp is switched off.
– Your Lady-Comp is not a contraceptive.
– Keep Lady-Comp away from children and pets.
USB: To read out the data, you should only use devices that are capable
to read a USB mass storage device. The USB port may only be used
for connection to such devices. Lady-Comp cannot be used when it is
connected via USB.

Step 1:
Activating yourLady-Comp
1. Remove the strap marked from the device.
2. Set the wake-up time (once) for the next morning.
3. You can now use Lady-Comp – but a measurement is only possible on the
following day. After the first successful measurement, you can also measure
without the alarm.
If you have accurate records of your menstrual data, you can add them
the day before the first measurement.
Adding historical menstruation
data (optional)
1. Navigate to the fertility window and use the minus button to select the day
to edit menstruation. Start by entering menstruation data that is furthest
back in time.
2 Press and hold the circle button for 3 seconds.
3. Enter the menstruation in the input field with the plus button.
With the minus button you can cancel the entry.
4. Press the circle button once to confirm the entry. The menstruation will
automatically be entered for the next 2 days.
Incorrectly entered data that is more than 3 days in the past cannot be corrected.

Step 2:
Measuring yourtemperature
1. Use your Lady-Comp every morning after waking up and before you get out
of bed. You should sleep at least 3 – 4 consecutive hours before measuring.
2. Place the measuring sensor as far back as is comfortable to the left or right
under your tongue and close your mouth.
3. Press the circle button to activate the device. Then, start the measurement
by pressing one of the 3 buttons.
4. You will hear a beep at the end of the successful measurement, and the
measured temperature as well as the fertility status, which is is valid until
midnight, are displayed. You can also check your fertility status later in
the day by pressing the circle button twice, starting from the start screen.
The following day, Lady-Comp will switch to the fertility prognosis
before you measure again.
If no measurement value can be determined after 3 minutes, the measurement is cancelled. You
can cancel the measurement manually by pressing the plus and minus button simultaneously.

Step 3:
Entering yourmenstruation
If you see a question mark in the input field for menstruation after measuring,
it means that Lady-Comp is asking you for your menstruation input.
– If you are menstruating: Press and hold the circle button for 3 seconds
to open the input field and enter your menstruation by pressing the plus
button. Confirm the entry by pressing the circle button. Enter your mens-
truation for each day of active bleeding and flow for a minimum of three
consecutive days.
– If you are not menstruating: You do not have to do anything.
– If you are menstruating, but you do not see a question mark: Press and
hold the circle button for 3 seconds. Enter your menstruation with the plus
button and confirm the entry by pressing the circle button twice.
You can enter your menstruation or sexual intercourse only 3 days retroactively.

How to use your
Lady-Comp correctly
– Make sure the first thing you do is take your temperature every morning
before you get out of bed. If you forget, and have already gotten out of
bed, do not proceed to take your temperature.
– If you are menstruating, enter this input accordingly.
– The more regularly you take your temperature, the faster Lady-Comp will
get to know your cycle.
– When you start using your Lady-Comp, you will initially see a lot of yellow
and red days. Over the course of the next 3 to 4 cycles, Lady-Comp learns
your unique menstrual cycle rhythm.

Cycle calendar
The cycle calendar shows you the fertility statuses of your cycles as measured
in the last months. You may also call up a menstruation prognosis for the
coming 6 months.

Cycle and planning statistics
Forecasts and statistics are only available from the beginning of the third cycle.
Number of cycles with CLI (corpus luteum insufficiency)
Corpus luteum insufficiency is characterized by a shorter
high-temperature phase and/or a lower temperature
increase. This indicator appears only after 3 cycles with
a short high-temperature phase.
Number of monophasic cycles
Displays monophasic cycles. If no ovulation takes place
in a particular cycle, the indicator will remain on red in
this case.
Planning hits
The amount of sexual intercourse inputs that were
consistent with the predicted ovulation and highly
fertile days. This reflects the number of hits in the last
20 cycles and is only displayed if you have chosen
to enter sexual intercourse information.

Createyourfertilityreport
Turn the device counterclockwise and connect Lady-Comp with
your computer via the USB cable. Copy the file *.txt into a local
folder and load the file into the form displayed on our website
lady-comp.com/analyser
To close the device, place the notches of the 2 parts of
the device slightly offset on each other and turn the device
clockwise.
Delete data
To delete all entered data, you have to press the minus button in the menu
“Delete data“ 10 times in a row. This will fill the circles of the display step by
step. If the deleting is successful, you will hear a signal tone.
Cleaning
Clean the sensor of Lady-Comp carefully with a damp cloth. You can also use
a small amount of alcohol or soap. Make sure that only the mouthpiece comes
into contact with liquid, as Lady-Comp is not waterproof.
Batteries
– 2 pieces, Micro AAA, 1.5 Volt or equivalent AAA batteries
The batteries must be changed while Lady-Comp is turned off.
– Follow your local battery disposal instructions.
Maintenance and care
– Lady-Comp has a life span of 5+ years.
– Protect Lady-Comp from wetness and moisture to prevent damage.
Do not place Lady-Comp on/in a heat generator, such as a microwave
oven, an oven or radiators.

Remedyand errormessages
Check menstruation input. If Lady-Comp has not received a
measurement or menstrual input for a longer period of time
(>4 days) and a new cycle start is expected during this period,
this message reminds you to make up for any entries you may
have forgotten.
If you had your menstruation during this period, add it before the
next measurement.
Batteries are empty. The batteries are completely discharged.
No further operation is possible with this display.
Replace the batteries. Unscrew the device in counter-clockwise fa-
shion. Insert the batteries or rechargeable batteries and place the
notches of the 2 parts of the device slightly offset on each other
and turn the device clockwise to close it again.
Error (Service). An error was detected.

Contraindications
In the following cases, you should not use Lady-Comp:
– You suffer from a condition in which pregnancy could be dangerous for you,
e.g. your blood pressure is too high or too low, you are suffering from heart
disease, etc.
– Health risks exist during pregnancy for your unborn child, e.g. if you are
suffering from drug or alcohol addiction, or if you are taking medication that
may cause birth defects.
– If you are undergoing hormonal treatment, or if you are using hormonal
methods of birth control.
– In case of irregular bleeding. This can interfere with the prediction of your
fertility or render it unusable.
– Lady-Comp is not a medical thermometer and should not be used to measu-
re body temperature as an indication of fever or illness.
Note on electromagnetic
compatibility
Electrical medical appliances are subject to special precautions
regarding electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). Lady-Comp is intended
for non-commercial home use only.
Portable and mobile RF communication appliances may affect medical
electrical equipment. Lady-Comp meets the requirements of EN 60601-1-2
for electromagnetic compatibility. Details of this measurement data can be

Warrantyinformation
Lady-Comp has been manufactured with the utmost care using premium-
quality, state-of-the-art materials. Each Lady-Comp is subjected to numerous
controls and inspections prior to delivery.
1. We guarantee the original purchaser that Lady-Comp is free of defects
in materials and workmanship during the warranty period.
2. The warranty period begins on the day the new Lady-Comp is sold to the
end user by an authorized dealer.* The warranty is valid for 2 years.
3. We undertake to either repair a defective device or replace it with a new
one. Further claims, and, in particular, claims for losses and damages,
including consequential damages, are excluded. The warranty does not
cover indirect damages.
* Please note that our limited warranty applies only if you purchased your Lady-Comp
from an authorized Valley Electronics dealer.
4. The warranty does not cover any damage caused by improper handling,
especially by opening the device, damage to the inspection sticker, or by
other external influences.
5. Warranty claims are only valid if the user indicates the defect immediately
in writing within 2 weeks after such a defect is discovered. Once the
defect is discovered, the user should no longer use the Lady-Comp, but
return it to the authorized distributor with a copy of the original purchase
invoice via insured delivery.

Symbolen zeigt Lady-Comp Dir so Deinen Zyklusstatus an. Lady-Comp ist

Sicherheitshinweise
– Bitte lies diese Gebrauchsanweisung aufmerksam durch, bevor Du
Lady-Comp das erste Mal benutzt, und bewahre die Gebrauchsanweisung
sorgfältig auf.
– Eine hormonelle Verhütung muss zuerst abgesetzt werden, bevor Du mit
der Nutzung von Lady-Comp beginnst.
– Lady-Comp ist nicht geeignet, wenn Du einer hormonell bedingten
Behandlung unterliegst oder wenn Du hormonell verhütest.
– Wichtig: Die erste Blutung nach Absetzen der Pille oder anderer hormoneller
Verhütungsmethoden ist eine hormonell bedingte Entzugsblutung und
keine Menstruation. Diese Blutung auf keinen Fall als Menstruation eingeben.
– Lady-Comp schützt Dich nicht vor Geschlechtskrankheiten.
– Lady-Comp ist keine Verhütung.

– Es darf nicht am Sensor gekaut werden.

– Bei Verletzungen im Mund nicht mehr messen.
– Bei beschädigtem Gehäuse, Kabel oder Messfühler nicht mehr messen.
– Als Bedienerin kannst Du jede Funktion von Lady-Comp nutzen.
Auch das Reinigen des Sensors kannst Du selbst durchführen, wenn
Lady-Comp dabei ausgeschaltet ist.
– Führt das Gerät zu Hautirritationen, empfehlen wir den sofortigen
Verwendungsstopp und die umgehende Kontaktaufnahme mit unserem
Kundenservice.
– Messungen können nicht durchgeführt werden, solange das USB-Kabel
angeschlossen ist.
– Keine spitzen Gegenstände in Lady-Comp stecken.
– Lady-Comp von Kindern und Haustieren fernhalten.
– Das Gerät darf nicht zu hohen Temperaturen ausgesetzt werden
(z.B. in kochendem Wasser).
– Das Gerät darf nicht über längere Zeit direktem Sonnenlicht ausgesetzt werden.
– Lady-Comp darf keinen hohen mechanischen Belastungen ausgesetzt werden.
