Installation and Operation Manual
BLUE-EX is a contactless door release button based on capacitive technology. It is equipped with
mechanical override function. Mechanical override allows manual door release in case of an
emergency during a power cut or electronic failure.
Function:
•Contactless door release button with Capacitance Proximity Technology. The colour of the exit
button will change from blue to green when a door release is triggered. At the same time, the
relay inside the exit button device will trigger for 1 second and the built-in buzzer will beep once
for audible confirmation.
•To adjust the door release duration, please power off the door release button. Change the DIP
switch settings according to the DIP switch table below and power on the unit.
•Supports mechanical override.
•Supports an external device/switch to trigger the unit.

DIP switch no. 1, 2, 3, 4 are used for adjusting the door release duration. The door release
duration is the sum of the associated DIP switch values in seconds.
Example:
Positioning DIP switch 1 and 4 to “ON” sets the door release duration to:
1 second +8 seconds = 9 seconds
*Note: Setting all DIP switches to the “OFF”position, results in a door release duration of 1
second.

Note:
The device needs to be power cycled for changes to the DIP switch settings to take effect.
Installation:
1) Confirm if the size of back box fits the
dimensions of the BLUE-EX door release
button as shown in Fig.1
2) Ensure correct wiring and set the jumpers to
the desired positions as per above DIP
switch table above.
3) Secure the door release button to the back
box with correct screws as shown in Fig.2.
4) There are 2 M-type buckles at the bottom of
the cover as shown in Fig.3. Align the
buckles into the slots at the bottom of the
module and then snap in the upper part of
the cover as shown in Fig.4. The BLUE-EX
door release button is now ready to use.
