General Safety Instructions
The Product is supposed be installed by knowledgeable, skilled persons familiar with local
and/or international electrical codes and regulations. For your safety and prevention of
damage to the Product, please read and observe carefully the following safety instructions
prior to installation and operation. Keep this manual well for future reference.
•Do not disassemble or otherwise modify the Product. Such action may cause heat
generation, ignition, electronic shock, or other damages including human injury, and may
void your warranty.
•Keep the Product away from heat source, such as heater, heat dissipater, or engine casing.
•Do not insert foreign materials into any opening of the Product as it may cause the Product
to malfunction or burn out.
•To ensure proper functioning and prevent overheating of the Product, do not cover or
block the ventilation holes of the Product.
•Follow the installation instructions with the installation tools provided or recommended.
•The use or placement of the operation tools shall comply with the code of practice of such
tools to avoid short circuit of the Product.
•Cut off the power before inspection of the Product to avoid human injury or product
damage.

Precautions for Power Cables and Accessories
Use proper power source only. Make sure the supply voltage falls within the specified
range.
Place the cables properly at places without extrusion hazards.
There is a coin cell battery for powering the RTC. Therefore, please avoid short circuit of
the battery during transportation or operation at high temperatures.
Cleaning instructions:
•Power off before cleaning the Product
•Do not use spray detergent
•Clean with a damp cloth
•Do not try to clean exposed electronic components unless with a dust collector
Power off and contact Vantron technical support engineer in case of the following faults:
•The Product is damaged
•The temperature is excessively high
•Fault is still not solved after troubleshooting according to this manual
Do not use in combustible and explosive environment:
•Keep away from combustible and explosive environment
•Keep away from all energized circuits
•Unauthorized removal of the enclosure from the device is not allowed
•Do not change components unless the power cable is unplugged
•In some cases, the device may still have residual voltage even if the power cable is
unplugged. Therefore, it is a must to remove and fully discharge the device before
replacement of the components.

1.1 Product Overview
Vantron M05 high-performance Android tablet was developed for industrial applications.
The Tablet runs on MediaTek multi-core processor with a 5-inch capacitive touchscreen to
offer excellent human-machine interaction experience. It features flexible specification
options, excellent cost performance, and outperforming power management system.
Additionally, it provides both wired and wireless accesses for communication to meet
different requirements for application in retail businesses, multi-media education,
transportation, laboratories, and libraries.
1.2 Unpacking
The Product has been carefully packed with special attention to quality. However, should
you find anything damaged or missing, please contact your sales representative in due time.
Check if the following accessories are in the shipping carton:

Make sure the accessories listed above are present without damage. The plastic film
will protect the screen during installation, only remove the film after installation.

2.1 Setting up the Tablet
Remove the protective materials from the package and set the Tablet up for the first time.
2.1.1 Installing the battery pack
There isn’t additional requirement for battery charge before first use of the Tablet. You can
use the Tablet straightly out of box as long as the Tablet has a charge, and charge it when
needed.
The battery information is accessible in the Settings application.
To install the battery pack into the Tablet:
1. Flip the Tablet over on a level surface with the camera side on the left and the type-C
interface on the right;
2. Remove the back cover of the Tablet with a plastic spatula or card;
3. Insert the battery side with two contacts into the compartment first;

4. Lower the other side till the battery is secured. Make sure the battery information is
facing you exactly;
5. Connect the flex cables to the contact parts of the battery, if needed;
6. Place the back cover of the Tablet back and press each side to fit the Tablet properly.
2.1.2 Installing and removing a Micro SD card
The SD card slot supports a storage device of up to128GB. You can insert an SD card to
expand the capacity of the Tablet for huge volume of data.
To install and then remove a Micro SD card:
1. Hold the Tablet tight;
2. Insert the Micro SD card into the card slot with the gold-colored contacts facing down;
3. Push the card in until it clicks into place;
4. Push the card again and it will eject from the slot.
Only insert or replace the Micro SD card outside the potentially explosive atmosphere.

2.1.3 Turning on/off the device
A short press of the power button on the right side of the Tablet will turn on/off the screen,
while long press of the power button will turn on/off the device.
To turn on the device:
1. Press the power button and hold for about 3 seconds;
2. Release when the Vantron logo appears on the screen;
3. Wait about 10 seconds for the operating system to be launched.
There are two ways to turn off the device depending on whether the screen is on.

1. Press the power button and hold for about 2 seconds until
the option menu shows up;
2. Tap Power off on the top of the menu to turn off the device.
Off
1. Long press the power button without release;
2. The screen will be on and then goes off in about 5 seconds
to shut down the device.
Do not press the power button repeatedly in short time.

2.1.4 Power menu
When the Tablet screen is on, a short press of the power button for about 2 seconds will
enable the option menu as follows.
2.1.5 LED Indicator
There is a power indicator on the front panel for indication of the charging status and
battery level of the Tablet.

2.2 Using the Tablet
This section will guide you through the default settings of the Tablet, changes you can
make, and cautions to be aware of when using the Tablet.
2.2.1 Device wakeup
When the Tablet is not in use for a while, the screen darkens and finally turns off to save
battery. To wake up the Tablet, you can press the power button and swipe up from the
bottom of the screen to unlock provided that you haven’t set any PIN code or password
before.
2.2.2 Home screen customization
The home screen offers shortcuts of apps and widgets and users can customize the home
screen as needed.
Tap a blank area on the home screen and hold for a second, there will be a pop-up for
customization of Home settings and Wallpapers.
Tapping the Home settings option, you can:
1. Toggle to add icons automatically to the home screen when new applications are
installed.
2. Allow the home screen to rotate when the Tablet is rotated.
Tapping the Wallpapers option, you can:
Replace the wallpaper with one from the Gallery or the default one.
The Tablet provides four additional screens to place widgets and shortcuts. When
necessary, users can tap an icon and drag upwardly, then release it to the desired
location of a screen. Having dragged the icons upwardly to the right of the Home
screen, users can swipe the screen left or right to view the icons.
