Introduction
The user-friendly 2GIG Vario LCD/LCD Proximity keypad enables simple operation and programming of the 2GIGVario system.
The following instructions offer a brief overview of keypad operation. For detailed information on programming the system refer to the 2GIGVario System
Installation and User manuals.
Keypad Indicators
Power
On System is operating properly from AC power, its backup battery is in good condition, and there
are no troubles in the system.
Off No power.
Slow Flash System is in programming mode.
Rapid Flash System trouble (fault).
Ready
On System is ready to be armed.
Off System is not ready to be armed.
Slow Flash System is ready to be armed (set) while exit/entry zone is open.
Arm (Set)
On System is armed in Full Arm or Stay Arm mode.
Off System is disarmed (unset).
Slow Flash System is in Exit Delay
Rapid Flash Alarm condition.
Stay/Bypass
(Part Set/Omit)
On System is in Stay Arm or Zone Bypass (Omit) mode.
Off No bypass zones in system.
Tamper
On Zone/keypad/external module has been tampered.
Off All zones are operating normally.
Fire
On Fire alarm.
Off Normal operation.
Flashing Fire circuit problem.
LED (Red)
Arm/Alarm Behaves in the same manner as the indicator.

Keys
Control Keys
In Normal Operation mode: Used to Arm Away.
In User Functions menu: Used to change data.
In Normal Operation mode: Used to Arm Stay.
In User Functions menu: Used to change data.
In Normal Operation: Used to disarm (unset) the system after a user code is entered
In User Functions menu: is used to terminate commands and confirm data to be stored.
The key is equivalent to the key on the 2GIG Vario Elegant Keypads (2GIG-VAR-
KEYPROXWHT, 2GIG-VAR-KEYPROXBLK).
Used to scroll up a list or to move the cursor to the left.
Provides the system status.
Used to scroll down a list or to move the cursor to the right.
In Normal Operation mode: Used to enter the User Functions menu.
In User Functions menu: Used to move back one step in the menu.
The key is equivalent to the icon on the 2GIG Vario system keypads.
Function Keys
Pressing both keys simultaneously for at least two (2) seconds activates a Fire Alarm.
Pressing both keys simultaneously for at least two (2) seconds activates an Emergency alarm.
Pressing both keys simultaneously for at least two (2) seconds activates a Police (Panic) alarm.
Used to arm (set) groups of zones (by default) or to activate a prerecorded series of commands (macros). To
activate, press for two (2) seconds.
Numeric Keys
Used to input numbers when required.

Keypad Settings
NOTE: The following settings must be defined individually for each keypad connected to the system.
Use the following procedure to define keypad settings:
1. Press for two (2) seconds until the Keypad Settings menu appears.
2. Select the relevant icon using the and keys. To select an option, press .
Brightness
Contrast
Keypad buzzer volume
Language
The 2GIG Vario system language option can always be accessed by simultaneously pressing and .
Panel
3. Adjust settings with arrow keys. Press to confirm adjusted settings.
4. Press to save the adjusted settings.
5. Press exit the keypad settings menu.

Using the Proximity Tag
The proximity tag, used with the proximity LCD keypad (2GIG-VAR-LCDPROX) is correctly used by applying it within a 4 cm distance from the front of the
keypad bottom, as shown below.
This feature is only available on certain keypads. Check with your security provider to see if your keypad supports this feature.
Automatic Upgrade Resulting from Panel Manual Upgrade
Upon initiation of the 2GIG Vario system panel remote upgrade (see the 2GIG Vario Installer Manual, Appendix I: Remote Software Upgrade), the LCD
keypad also may be automatically upgraded. During this approximately tree-minute process, an upgrade icon ( ) and the power icon ( ) are
displayed on the keypad and the LED light flashes. Do not disconnect during this period.
This feature is only available on certain keypads. Check with your security provider to see if your keypad supports this feature.

Limited Warranty
This Nortek Security & Control product is warranted against defects in material and workmanship of two (2) years. This warranty extends only to
wholesale customers who buy direct from Nortek Security & Control LLC or through Nortek Security & Control LLC's normal distribution channels. Nortek
Security & Control LLC does not warrant this product to consumers. Consumers should inquire from their selling dealer as to the nature of the dealer's
warranty, if any.
There are no obligations or liabilities on the part of Nortek Security & Control LLC for consequential damages arising out of or in connection with use or
performance of this product or other indirect damages with respect to loss of property, revenue, or profit, or cost of removal, installation, or reinstallation.
