IMPORTANT INFORMATION
AThe unit must only be installed by trained personnel.
AObserve automotive industry quality standards and the relevant local statutory regulations.
AFire hazard: when drilling, take care not to damage concealed wiring harnesses, the fuel tank
or fuel lines.
ANever drill into supporting or safety-relevant body parts.
It is essential to observe the following when installing components in the passenger
compartment:
AEnsure that the driver has a clear all-round view.
AIncreased risk of injury in the event of an accident. Do not install components in the inflation
range of the airbag or in areas where the head may knock against them.
AOnly install the unit in vehicles with a 12-V on-board voltage; connect negative pole to earth.
Installation in unsuitable vehicles (e. g. heavy goods vehicles, buses) results in a risk of malfunction,
damage and fire.
ADo not damage safety system wiring (airbag etc.). (Lines are normally specially marked, for
example by labels).
ADo not use test lamps to test the voltage, since excessively high currents could damage/
destroy electronic components.
ADo not use any pinch or cut connectors. Solder all wiring connections. Insulate all solder points
with shrink hose or insulating tape.
AFit toothed washers at earth connections to the vehicle body. If necessary, remove paint and
dirt beforehand. Subsequently, protect bare metal against corrosion.
AIn order to ensure perfect installation, use only the original components supplied. The use of
non-authorised components may result in malfunction.
ADo not install the unit in positions where it is exposed to high temperatures, dust, dirt or
excessive vibration (e.g. due to direct sunlight or heating vents).

Troubleshooting
In rare cases, your system may not function the way you expect it to. Before calling the
Service department, please read the operating instructions thoroughly and go through the
following checklist; it may be possible to quickly remedy an apparent malfunction.
Symptoms Possible cause / remedy
The monitor is not functioning. There is no
reaction when the ignition is switched on.
• Check the fuses (plug for the vehicle’s cigarette lighter and in the red
connecting cable) and the connections (see installation instructions).
The picture is excessively dark/bright. • Set the desired brightness in the OSD menu.
• Check the dimmer setting in the OSD menu.
• Check the settings of the connected source.
No sound is audible. • Set the desired volume on the monitor.
• Check the mute setting in the OSD menu.
Navigation system is in stand-by mode but the
monitor backlighting is still switched on.
• Switch off the monitor via the on/off button.
No navigation display and no voice information. The MM 2700 is connected to the monitor output 1 of the M12xxx.
• Use adapter cable CA 1255 to connect the MM 2700 directly to
the navigation computer (PC 54xx and above).
The hue of the navigation display appears
“corrupted”.
• Change the TINT set value via the OSD menu of the MM 2700.
• Change the “Sync. in green / No Sync. in green” setting in the
“Settings” menu of the navigation computer.
(Please contact your authorised dealer if you have any further
queries).
The picture appears slightly distorted. • Connect the earth lead of the monitor to another suitable earthed
point to avoid earth loops (e.g. connection point of the video
source).
