by those in need of a hand control.
• Use of the Vei el hand controls by those who can adequately use the foot pedals is not authorized.
Most states and providence's require restrictions on driver licenses to operate hand controls.
• If you do not have a valid driver’s license for operatin hand controls, you should immediately
attend a driver trainin school.
Do Not Allow Unauthor zed Dr vers
• Only persons who are familiar with and depend on this hand control may drive the vehicle usin
the hand control.
• Drivers who depend on the brake lock function of the hand control are allowed to drive usin the
hand control.
• Drivers who are able to drive re ularly are not allowed to use the brake lockin device.
Prevent Acc dental Control Movement
• When drivin the vehicle usin the hand control it is recommended that you install a pedal uard
to prevent the as and brake pedals from bein accidentally applied. Ask your mobility dealer
about Vei el Pedal Guards, sold separately.
• To avoid inadvertent brakin or acceleration, be sure to keep passen ers, pets, car o, and other

Use the Hand Controls Safely
• Make sure you know how much force and control movement is required to accelerate, slow down,
and brake the vehicle. Be sure you can speed up and slow down at safe rates.
• Each driver must practice usin the hand control before drivin on public roads. Make sure you
can operate the control safely while observin ood drivin practices and payin attention to traffic
conditions.
• Non-physically impaired drivers must normally use the as and brake pedals, instead of usin the
hand control.
• The Vei el Hand Controls are only intended for ri ht-hand installation and operation. Do not
modify for left-hand operation.
• The hand control reduces the space in the foot well on the driver’s side. Make sure anyone drivin
the vehicle fits comfortably in the available space and can reach the controls without reachin or
stretchin .
Make Sure Controls are n Good Work ng Order
• Do not use the hand control if any kind of malfunction is apparent. Any dama e or malfunction must
be repaired before drivin the vehicle usin the hand controls.
• Before each drive, make sure nothin is blockin the control’s movement. The control’s full ran e

• If you detect any irre ularities, please have the unit checked by a qualified technician without delay.
• Alterations or attachments in the area of the hand control, dashboard and center console are not
permitted. Do not mount accessories (bevera e holders, cell phone carriers, etc.) on or near the

The physically impaired persons who have limited mobility to their le s, the use of a pedal uard for
the accelerator and brake is mandatory in order to avoid an uncontrolled activation or blocka e of
the pedals.
IMPORTANT: A pedal uard is not included in the delivery of a hand control or the installation kit.
It must be ordered separately for the specific vehicle type. Ask your mobility dealer
