1.25cm above the center of the

• Itisimportanttoknoweachindividual’snormaltemperaturewhentheyarewell.Achild’snormaltemperaturecanbeashighas37.7°C
or as low as 36.1°C. Take multiple readings when healthy to determine normal temperature. This is the only way to accurately diagnose a
fever.

using on children.
• NeverimmersetheForeheadThermometerintowaterorotherliquids(notwaterproof).Forcleaninganddisinfecting
pleasefollowtheinstructionsinthe“CleaningandStorage”section.
• Keeptheinstrumentawayfromdirectexposuretothesunandkeepitinadust-free,dryareaatatemperaturebetween16°-40°C.
• Donotusethethermometeriftherearesignsofdamageonthemeasuringsensororontheinstrumentitself.Ifdamaged,donotattempt
to repair the instrument!
• ThisForeheadThermometerconsistsofhigh-qualityprecisionparts.Donotdroptheinstrument.Protectitfromsevereimpactandshock.
Do not twist the instrument or the measuring sensor.
• Thethermometerisonlysuitableforthemeasurementofbodytemperature.Theuseofthisthermometerisnotintendedasasubstitutefor
consultationwithyourdoctor.Thethermometerisinitiallycalibratedatthetimeofmanufacture.Ifthisthermometerisusedaccordingto

4. HowtheForeheadThermometermeasuresbodytemperature
The Forehead Thermometer measures infrared energy emitted from the skin above the eyebrow area and the surrounding tissue.This energy
is collected through the lens and converted to a temperature value. Temperature readings obtained by scanning the skin above the eyebrow
area will provide the greatest accuracy.
TheForeheadThermometerhasbeenclinicallytestedandproventobesafeandaccuratewhenusedinaccordancewithits
operatinginstructionmanual.

1. Press the button on front of unit. The LCD display is activated to show all segments for 2 seconds.
2. The last measurement reading will be shown on the display automatically for 3 seconds with the «M» icon.
3. Whenthe°Ciconisashing,abeepsoundisheardandthethermometerisreadyforthemeasurement.
4. PlacetheComfortTouchtipgentlyontotheskinapproximately1.25cmabovethecenteroftheeyebrow.Ifthe
eyebrowareaiscoveredwithhair,sweatordirt,pleasecleantheareabeforehandtoensureaccuratereadings.
5. Press the button once and release it. Start to move the thermometer steadily from 1cm above the center of the
eyebrow to 1.25cm above the tail of the eyebrow area and back up again. A long beep will sound after 3 seconds to
signaltheendofthemeasurement.Ifthemovementistooslowtoreachthetailoftheeyebrowbeforethelongbeep
soundisheard,repeatthemeasurementasabovefromstep4,andmovethethermometeralittlequickerthistime.
6. Read the measured temperature from the LCD display.
Toavoidaninaccuratemeasurement,notethefollowing:
• Patientsshouldstayinsteady-stateroomconditionforatleast30minutes.
• Don’tremovethemeasurementdevicefromthemeasuringareabeforehearingthenalbeep.
• Don’ttakeameasurementwhileorimmediatelyafternursingababy.
• Don’tusetheForeheadThermometerinhighhumidityenvironments.
• Patientsshouldnotdrink,eat,orbephysicallyactivebefore/whiletakingthemeasurement.
• Beforeplacingthethermometersensorontothemeasurementarea,removehair,sweat,ordirt.
• Useanalcoholswabtocarefullycleanthesensorandwaitfor5minutesbeforetakingameasurementonanotherpatient.
• 10shortbeepswillsoundwhenthetemperatureishigherthan37.5°Cinordertoalertthepatientthathe/shemay
have a fever.
• Alwaystakethetemperatureinthesamelocation,sincethetemperaturereadingsmayvaryfromdierentlocations.
• Inthefollowingsituationsitisrecommendedthatthreetemperaturesinthesamelocationbetakenandthehighestonetakenas
the reading:
1)Newborninfantsintherst100days.
2)Childrenunderthreeyearsofagewithacompromisedimmunesystemandforwhomthepresenceorabsenceoffeveriscritical.
3)Whentheuserislearninghowtousethethermometerforthersttimeuntilhe/shehasfamiliarizedhimself/herselfwiththe
instrument and obtains consistent readings.

Please check if the battery has been loaded
correctly.Alsocheckpolarity(<+>and<–>)
of batteries.

8. MemoryTracker™mode
Use the following steps to recall the last 12 temperature measurements.
Pressing and releasing the Start button after the last 12 readings have been recalled will resume the above sequence from reading 1.The
oldestreadingwillautomaticallybereplacedbythelatestreading.Itisnotnecessarytodeleteoldreadings.

9. Cleaningandstorage
Useanalcoholswaborcottonswabmoistenedwithalcohol(70%Isopropyl)tocleanthethermometer
casing and the measuring probe. Ensure that no liquid enters the interior of the thermometer. Never use
abrasivecleaningagents,thinnersorbenzeneforcleaningandneverimmersetheinstrumentin
waterorothercleaningliquids. After cleaning the unit should not be used until the cleaning agent
iscompletelyvaporizedasthecleaningagentmayaecttheaccuracyofmeasurements.Takecarenot
to scratch the surface of the LCD display by replacing the protective cap after each use.
10.Replacingthebattery
The Forehead Thermometer is supplied with 2 AAA batteries. Replace
with 2 new AAA batteries when the ashing battery symbol appears on
theLCDdisplay.Tochangethebatteries,slideopenthebatterycoveras
shown and remove batteries. Replace the batteries being sure to align
properly as indicated inside the battery compartment.
Remove the battery from the instrument if it is not required for extended
periods of time in order to avoid damage to the
thermometer resulting from a leaking battery.
Please do not dispose of the product in the household waste at the end
of its useful life. Disposal can take place at appropriate collection points
