This Quick Install Guide covers the IQA-FG Flush Ceiling mount for the
Alliance-mx camera domes. Be sure to go to our website www.vicon-
security.com to assure you have the most current documentation.
1 Service
If the unit needs repair service or parts, the customer should contact
Vicon Industries for authorization to return, as well as shipping
instructions. Refer to Shipping Instructions at the end of this manual.
2 Unpacking
The IQeye Flush Mount Ceiling Assembly Kit includes the following (note
that the kit does include hardware that is not required when installing
the Alliance-mx):
1. (1) Ceiling Can Assembly
2. (1) Trim Ring
3. (4) Male/Female Hex Standoffs (required for Alliance-pro assembly only)
4. (4) Flat Washers (required for Alliance-pro assembly only)
5. (4) 4mm Pan Head Machine Screws (required for Alliance-pro assembly only)
6. (4) 10mm Pan Head Machine Screws (required for Alliance-mx assembly only)
7. (1) Conduit Adapter (required for Alliance-mx assembly only)
8. (1) Self-Locking External Retaining Ring (required for Alliance-mx assembly only)

3 Description
IQeye Flush Mount Ceiling Assembly
The IQA-FG Flush Mount Ceiling Assembly allows the IQeye Alliance-mx dome camera
systems to be mounted indoors on drop ceiling or sheet rock ceiling surfaces.
4 Installation
NOTE: This manual describes how to install the IQA-FG Flush Mount Ceiling Assembly mounting option.
Installations should be performed by qualified service personnel in accordance with local, state and
national code(s).
See the Alliance-mx Installation Manual for instructions on the removal of the dome cover.
1. Mount the Alliance-mx dome camera to the Ceiling Can Assembly by first aligning
the cable pass through hole at the base of the Alliance-mx with the cable pass
through hole on the Ceiling Can Assembly as seen in Figure 4.1.
2. Using the (4) 10mm Pan Head Machine Screws, attach the Alliance-mx to the
Ceiling Can Assembly (Figure 4.2].
NOTE: If conduit is required for cable management by national, state
and/or local code, begin your installation by installing the Conduit
Adapter in the Ceiling Can Assembly pass through hole as seen in
Figure 4.3 and securing the adapter with the Self-Locking External Retaining
Ring shipped with this accessory kit.
B. Installing the IQA-FG Flush Mount to the Ceiling:
a. Using the supplied Printed Template, trace and cut the necessary hole on the
intended mounting surface.
b. With the ceiling hooks in the “stowed” position (Hex Screws rotated counter-
clockwise), mount the Flush Mount to the opening of the ceiling using the ceiling
hooks that were pre-installed on the Ceiling Can Assembly (rotate the Hex
Screws clockwise).
NOTE: When mounting the IQA-FG Flush Mount Ceiling Assembly, take special precaution to follow all
local, state and national code(s) and safety procedures.
c. Pull any cabling from the ceiling side into the camera through the ¾” NPT hole.

5 Connecting the Camera and Finalizing Installation
A. Make any cabling connections between the ceiling side and the IQeye Alliance-mx
camera.
B. Refer to the Alliance-mx Manual for additional camera installation instructions.
C. Complete the installation by attaching the magnetic Flush Mount Trim Ring to the
Ceiling Can Assembly (See Figure 5.1).

Shipping Instructions
Use the following procedure when returning a unit to the factory:
1. Call or write Vicon for a Return Authorization (R.A.) at one of the locations
listed below. Record the name of the Vicon employee who issued the R.A.

2. Attach a sheet of paper to the unit with the following information:
a. Name and address of the company returning the unit
b. Name of the Vicon employee who issued the R.A.
c. R. A. number
d. Brief description of the installation
e. Complete description of the problem and circumstances under which it
occurs
f. Unit’s original date of purchase, if still under warranty
3. Pack the unit carefully. Use the original shipping carton or its equivalent for
maximum protection.
4. Mark the R.A. number on the outside of the carton on the shipping label.
