Groundinginstructions
Thewinecellarmustbegroundedincaseofanelectricalshortcircuit.Groundingreduces
theriskofelectricalshock.Thewinecellarisequippedwithapowercordhavinga
groundingwireandplug. Thewinecellarplugmustbepluggedintoaproperlyaffixedand
groundedelectricaloutlet.
Note:Inlocationswherethereisfrequentlightning,it isadvisabletousesurge
protectors.
Improperuseofthegrounding plugcanresult intheriskofelectricshock.Consult a
qualifiedelectricianorservice personifthegroundinginstructionsarenotcompletely
understood.

INSTALLINGYOUR WINECELLAR
Unpackandremovealloftheprotectionandadhesivestripsfromthepackagingaround
andinsidethewinecellar.
Thewinecellarmustbepositionedsuchthattheplugisaccessible.Releasethepower
cord.Moveyourwinecellartoitsfinallocation.Thewinecellarshouldbeinstalledina
suitableplace wherethecompressorwillnotbesubjecttophysicalcontact.
Levelingyourwinecellar: WinecellarmustbeleveledBEFORE loadingyourwines.
YourVintec winecellarisequippedwith4adjustablefeettofacilitateeasyleveling.
VINTEC recommendsthatyoutightenthebackfeettothemaximumandadjustthefront
feettocreatealevel.

Theairventmustnotbeinstalledonthesamesideofotherappliancesproducingheat
suchasovensortoanarea thatissealedorwithoutaccess tofreshcoolair. Failingto

TURNINGONYOUR WINECELLAR
Pluginandswitchonthecellarbypressing onthepowerbutton forafewseconds.
Whenyouusethewinecellarforthefirsttime(orrestartthewinecellarafterhavingit
shutoff foralongtime),therewill beafewdegrees, variance betweenthetemperature
youhaveselectedandtheoneindicatedontheLEDreadout.Thisisnormaland itisdue
tothelengthoftheactivationtime.Once thewinecellarisrunning forafewhours
everythingwillstabilize.
Important:Iftheunit isunplugged,powerislost,orturnedoff,wait 3to5minutes
beforerestartingtheunit.Thewinecellarwill notstartifyouattempttorestartbefore
this timedelay.
OperatingNoises
Toreachthedesiredtemperaturesettings, VINTEC winecellars, likeallwinecellars
operatingwithcompressorsandfans, mayproduce thefollowingtypesofnoises. These
noises arenormalandoccuras follows:
-Gurglingsound, causedbytherefrigerantflowingthroughtheappliance’s coils,
-Cracking/poppingsounds, resultingfromthecontractionandexpansionofthe
refrigerantgas toproduce cold,
-Fanoperatingsound, tocirculatetheairwithinthewinecellar.
Anindividual sperception ofnoiseisdirectlylinkedtotheenvironmentinwhichthewine
cellarislocated,aswell thespecifictypeofmodels. VINTEC winecellars areinlinewith
internationalstandardsforsuchappliance. VINTEC will alwaysdo itsutmosttosatisfy
itscustomers butwill notretake possession ofthegoodsduetocomplaintsbasedon
normaloperating noiseoccurrences.
LOADINGYOUR WINECELLAR
Youmayloadyourwinebottlesinsingleordoublerowswhiletaking noteofthe
following:ifyoudo nothaveenoughbottlestofillyourwinecellar,itisbetterto
distributetheloadthroughoutthewinecellarsoastoavoid “all ontop”or “all below”
typeloads.
-Doremoveorrelocateadjustablewoodenshelvestoaccommodatelargertypeofbottles
orincreasethecapacityofthecellarbystackingthebottlesupwhennecessary.(See
removingshelves)
-Keepsmallsgapbetweenthewallsand thebottlestoallowaircirculation.Likean
undergroundcellaraircirculationisimportanttopreventmouldandforabetter
homogeneous temperaturewithinthecellar.

Your VINTEC winecellarhasbeendesignedtoguarantee optimumconditionsforstoring
and/orservingyourwines.
Finewinesrequirelongandgentledevelopmentsandneedspecificconditionsinwhichto
reachtheirfullpotential.
Allwinesmatureatthesametemperature,whichisaconstanttemperaturesetbetween
12ºCto14ºC.Onlythetemperatureof “dégustation”(wineappreciation)variesaccording
tothetypeofwines(see “WineServingTemperatureChart”above).Thisbeingsaidand
asitisfornaturalcellarsusedbywineproducersforlongperiod ofstorage,itisnotthe
exacttemperaturethatisimportant,butitsconsistency.Inotherwords, aslongasthe
temperatureofyourwinecellarisconstant(between12ºCto14ºC)yourwineswillbe
storedinperfectconditions.
Notallwineswillimproveovertheyears. Someshouldbeconsumedatanearlystage(2
to3years)whileothershavetremendous ageingcapability(50 and over).Allwineshavea
peakinmaturity. Docheckwithyourwinemerchanttogettherelevantinformation.
DEFROSTING/CONDENSATION/HYGROMETRY/VENTILATION
Yourwinecellarisdesignedwith “Auto-cycle”defrostsystem.During “Off-cycle”the
refrigeratedsurfacesofthewinecellardefrostautomatically.Defrostwaterfromthewine
cellarstoragecompartmentdrainsautomaticallyandpartofitgoesintoadrainage
container,whichislocatedatthebackofthewinecellarnexttothecompressor.Theheat
istransferredfromthecompressorandevaporatesanycondensationthathascollectedin
thepan.Partoftheremainingwateriscollectedwithinthewinecellarforhumidity
purposes.
Thissystemenablesthecreationofthecorrecthumiditylevelinsideyourwinecellar
requiredbythenaturalcorktomaintainalonglastingseal.
Notes: Thewatercollectedbycondensation,isthereforerecycled.Underextremelydry
environmentalconditions, you mayhave toadd somewaterintothewatercontainer
providedwithyourwinecellar.
Allunitsareequippedwithadoubleglazedglass doorthathasathirdinternalacrylic
layertominimize condensationontheglass door.

ADJUSTABLE WOODENSHELVES
Adjusting/removingtheshelves
Foreasyaccess tothestoragecontent,youmustpull theshelvesapproximately1/3ofits
depthoutoftherailcompartment.Thesewinecabinets, however,aredesignedwitha
notchoneachsideoftheshelftracks topreventbottlesfromfalling.

Whenremovinganyoftheseshelvesoutoftherailcompartment,tilttheshelfasperthe
diagramand simplypullout,orpushintheshelfuntilitsitsonthesupportbrackets
securely.
REVERSIBILITYOF THEDOOR
Warning:Toavoidaccidentduring theprocess ofchanging thedoor,werecommend that
yougetassistance. Dooris heavyandmaycauseinjuryifdropped.
Accordingthemodelandthetypeofhandleyourwinecabinetisequippedwith,suchas
longstraitbarhandle, thedoormightneeds toberotatedfor180 degrees orchangedfora
rightopeningone.
