3 Installation / Standby temperature
1. The furnace must be positioned at least 25 cm from nearest wall.
2. Connect furnace to mains using cable supplied.
3. Switch on furnace by pressing ON / OFF. The firing tray lift is lowered.
4. Place firing tray on lift.
5. Connect vacuum pump by inserting plug into socket (G). Push vacuum pump hose over nozzle (H). Both
(G) and (H) are at rear of furnace.
6. Select standby using function keys (cursor up / down) and press START. Firing tray lift is raised and
furnace heats to standby temperature. Once standby temperature has been reached, the furnace is
ready for firing using any programme.
Changing standby temperature: see OPTIONS. Factory calibrated standby temperature: 500°C.
4 Main menu / Selecting a programme

When the furnace has been switched on, the display shows the following main menu:
OXYDATION, OPAQUE FIRING, DENTINE FIRING, GLAZE FIRING, MISCELLANEOUS
Apart from these five items, STANDBY or FAST COOLING can be selected using the cursor keys UP /
DOWN. Up to 60 programs under each item can be freely selected. To select a firing program the cursor is
positioed on the respective item using the sursor UP / DOWN keys. The program number is entered using
the numericial block (10), and START (8) pressed. The display shows the corresponding firing profile, time
and temperature values. Pressing STOP (9) recalls the main menu. Settings for programs numbered 1 to 60
may be entered under all five above mentioned items.
FAST COOLING:
When the firing tray lift is in a low position, the selection of this item activates the vacuum pump. The furnace
is cooled to standby temperature minus 50°C, and subsequently heated to standby temperature which is
then held.

5 Option menu
CAUTION: All alterations made must be confirmed or saved using the key # on the numericial block (10).
The item OPTIONS is selected from the main menu using the corresponding function key.
The OPTIONS menu is displayed showing following items:
STANDBY TEMPERATURE (200 °C – 800 °C)
TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT
BRIGHTNESS / CONTRAST of the display
LANGUAGE MENU (5 languages)
Each item can be selected and called up using the cursor keys and the ENTER key respectively.
When altering something under one of the items, please adhere to teh instructions shown on the display.
The temperature of the muffle chamber can be adjusted within a range of + / - 20°C under the item
TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT. The alteration is saved using the key # on the numericial block (10).
Brightness and contrast are set using the corresponding keys. The adjustment is concluded by pressing
STOP (9).
Pressing the RETURN key recalls the OPTIONS menu. If RETURN is pressed again, the main menu is
recalled.
6 Selecting programs / Checking parameter
1. Switch on furnace using ON / OFF (1).
2. Choose item from main menu.
3. Enter program number and confirm using key #.
4. Check time and temperature parameters shown on display, and strat program by pressing START (8).
The selected program is run with parameters shown on the display.
A program may be aborted at any time by pressing STOP (9).

7 Entering / Altering parameters:
All parameters of the 300 storable firing programs can be altered.
The following values may be entered:
Pre-drying temperature: 200°C – 800°C
Hold time for pre-drying: max. 20.00 mins.
Rise time: max. 20.00 mins.
Hold time for final temperature: max. 20.00 mins.
Final temperature: max. 1200°C
Vacuum parameters:
VACUUM-START: When temperature begins to rise, or a value within the tamperature rise range has been
entered.
VACUUM-STOP: After entered time (mins. / secs.), whereby maximum is rise time plus hold time, or
according to entered temperature, whereby maximum is set final temperature.
The desired item is selected using the cursor keys. Alterations of time or temperature parameters are
entered using the numericial block (10), and entries saved using key #.
When END is pressed,the selected program is run with the set vacuum parameters.
Cooling parameters:
First cooling phase: Selectable temperature range within 600°C – 800°C with raised or lowered firing tray lift.
Second cooling phase is selected with YES or NO: Cooling rate selectable for temperature from 3°C to 15°C
and time within 3 to 15 minutes.
The desired item is selected using the cursor keys. Alternations of time or temperature parameters are
entered using the numericial block (10), and entries saved using key #.
When END is pressed, the selected program is run with the set cooling parameters.

Soldering in the VITA Vacumat:
Method 1:
Preheat the restoration, complete with flux and bead of solder, in a preheating furnace for 15 to 20 minutes,
at 400°C.
Menu: Miscellaneous Item 3
Set final temperature by adding 50°C to melting point of solder.
Pre-drying time: 5.00 minutes
Rise time: 5.00 minutes
Hold time: 3.00 minutes
Method 2:
Preheat the restoration, with flux but without solder, in preheating furnace for 15 to 20 minutes, at 400°C.
Menu: Miscellaneous Item 5
Set final temperature by adding 50°C to melting point of solder.
Pre-drying time: 1.00 minute
Rise time: 3.00 minutes
Hold time: 4.00 minutes
