Einführung
Sehr geehrter Kunde,
wir bedanken uns für den Kauf des Schnellladegeräte-
Sets UFC-1. Mit diesem Gerät haben Sie ein Produkt
erworben, welches nach dem heutigen Stand der Tech-
nik gebaut wurde.
Dieses Produkt erfüllt die Anforderungen der geltenden
europäischen und nationalen Richtlinien. Die Konformität
wurde nachgewiesen, die entsprechenden Erklärungen
und Unterlagen sind beim Hersteller hinterlegt. Um die-
sen Zustand zu erhalten und einen gefahrlosen Betrieb
sicherzustellen, müssen Sie als Anwender diese Bedie-
nungsanleitung beachten!
Bestimmungsgemäße Verwendung
Der bestimmungsgemäße Einsatz des Gerätes umfasst
das Laden, Entladen und Refreshen von schnelladefähi-
gen NiCd- und NiMH-Akkus des Typs Mignon (AA) und
Mikro (AAA). Als Spannungsversorgung dürfen nur das
im Lieferumfang enthaltene Steckernetzgerät (Span-
nungsversorgung Steckernetzgerät 100 V bis 240V AC)
oder das beiliegende Zigarettenanzünder-Adapterkabel
(Spannungsversorgung Autobatterie 12V-DC) verwen-
det werden. Betrieb und Lagerung nur in trockener
Umgebung; Kontakt mit Feuchtigkeit ist zu vermeiden.

Eine andere Verwendung als zuvor beschrie-
ben führt zur Beschädigung dieses Produktes,
darüber hinaus ist dies mit Gefahren, wie z.B.
Kurzschluß, Brand, elektrischer Schlag etc.
verbunden. Das gesamte Produkt darf nicht
geändert bzw. umgebaut und das Gehäuse
nicht geöffnet werden! Die Sicherheitshinwei-
se sind unbedingt zu beachten!
Lieferumfang
Zum Lieferumfang des Sets gehören das Schnellade-
gerät UFC-1, ein Universal-Steckerschaltnetzgerät mit
vier Eingangs- und 8 Ausgangssteckern, ein 12V-Ziga-
rettenanschluss-Adapterkabel, 8 St. Mignon-Akkus
2000mAh NiMH, eine praktische Aufbewahrungstasche
sowie eine Bedienungsanleitung.
Sicherheitshinweise
Bei Schäden, die durch Nichtbeachten dieser
Bedienungsanleitung verursacht werden,
erlischt der Garantieanspruch! Für Folge-
schäden übernehmen wir keine Haftung! Ein
in einem Dreieck befindliches Ausrufezei-
chen weist auf wichtige Hinweise in der
Bedienungsanleitung hin. Lesen Sie vor Inbe-
triebnahme die Anleitung komplett durch.
Aus Sicherheits- und Zulassungsgründen darf das Gerät
nicht geöffnet oder umgebaut werden!

Laden Sie mit diesem Gerät nur für den Ladestrom
geeignete Nickel-Metallhydrit- (NiMH) und Nickel-Cad-
mium- (NiCd) Akkus. Laden Sie niemals Einwegbatteri-
en. Verwenden Sie das Ladegerät nicht zum Laden von
aufladbaren Alkali-Akkus (RAM). Laden Sie niemals ver-
schiedene Akkutypen gleichzeitig!
Laden Sie niemals Mignon- und Mikrozellen gleichzei-
tig. Das Gerät kann maximal 4 gleichartige Zellen
gleichzeitig laden. Gleichzeitiges Laden von verschiede-
nen Akkutypen kann zum Platzen, Auslaufen und sogar
zu Personenverletzungen führen.
Schließen Sie niemals die Ladekontakte, das Netzgerät
oder Akkus kurz!
Es ist normal, dass sich die Akkus beim Aufladen erhit-
zen. Neu aufgeladene Akkus vorsichtig handhaben!
Das Gerät sowie die Akkus sind kein Kinderspielzeug,
halten Sie es von Kindern fern!
Umwelthinweis!
Der Endverbraucher ist gesetzlich (Alt-
batterieverordnung) zur Rückgabe aller
gebrauchten Batterien und Akkus (Knopf-
zelle bis Bleiakku) verpflichtet; eine Ent-
sorgung über den Hausmüll ist untersagt.

Ihre verbrauchten Batterien und Akkus
können Sie sowohl in unseren Nieder-
lassungen bzw. an die Zentrale in Hir-
schau unentgeltlich zurückgeben, als
wie bisher auch zu kommunalen Entsor-
gern (Wertstoffhöfe) die zur Rücknahme
verpflichtet sind.
Leisten auch Sie einen Beitrag zum
Umweltschutz.
Bedienung
Spannungsversorgung
Bestimmen Sie die gewünschte Spannungsversorgung.
Es stehen Ihnen ein Steckernetzgerät für 100-240 VAC-
Steckdosen, sowie eine 12V-Adapterkabel für Zigaret-
tenanzünder im Campingwagen o.ä. zur Auswahl:
1. Steckernetzgerät: Das UFC-1 Traveller Set wird mit
einem Universal-Schaltsteckernetzgerät geliefert. Dies
hat den Vorteil, dass das Netzgerät nicht nur für das
UFC-1, sondern auch zur Spannungsversorgung ande-
rer Kleingeräte wie tragbare CD-Spieler, Gameboys o.ä.
verwendet werden kann.
Zum Betrieb des UFC-1 mit dem Netzgerät müssen Sie
die Ausgangsspannung des Netzgerätes auf 12V ein-
stellen (verwenden Sie hierzu den beiliegenden Schlüs-

Utilisation du bloc secteur universel pour d´autres
appareils électriques
Le bloc secteur universel fourni peut être utilisé égale-
ment pour le fonctionnement d´autres appareils électri-
ques, ayant une tension de sortie comprise entre 3V et
12V (tension continue).
Sélectionnez la bonne tension de sortie, la polarité et le
connecteur de sortie pour l´appareil électrique. Huit dif-
férentes connecteurs de sortie sont disponibles.
Ne prenez pas plus de courant que ce qui
est indiqué au dos du bloc secteur.
Respectez impérativement la tension et la
polarité en raccordant le bloc secteur à vot-
re appareil électrique.
Un non-respect peut détériorer le bloc sec-
teur et l´appareil électrique raccordé. Tout
dommage résultant d´un raccordement qui
n´a pas correctement effectué a pour effet
d´annuler la garantie.
Entretien
Séparez le chargeur, l’adaptateur et le câble adaptateur
de toute alimentation en courant avant tout nettoyage
ou entretien. Pour le nettoyage extérieur, un chiffon
doux et sec est suffisant. Ne l’humidifiez en aucun cas

wählen. Zur Vereinfachung wurde der passende Hohl-
stecker (5,0 x 2,1m) mit einem roten Pfeil gekennzeich-
net. Dieser rote Pfeil muss sich mit dem roten Pfeil an
der Ausgangsleitung des Netzgerätes decken.
Wählen Sie den für die Netzsteckdose passenden Ein-
gangsstecker aus. Zum Wechsel des Eingangssteckers
schieben Sie den Arretierungsschieber in Pfeilrichtung
bis der Eingangsstecker selbständig aus dem
Anschlussterminal springt. Zum Einsetzen des Ein-
gangssteckers setzen Sie diesen auf das Anschlusster-
minal auf und drücken den gewünschten Eingangs-
stecker in das Terminal bis dieser einrastet. Stecken Sie
das Netzgerät in eine Netzsteckdose.
2. 12V-Adapterkabel: Stecken Sie das 12V-Adapterka-
bel in eine Zigarettenanzünderbuchse. Das Vorhanden-
sein von Spannung am DC-Stecker wird durch eine rote
LED am Adapterkabel angezeigt. Sollte die rote LED
nicht leuchten, überprüfen Sie die Zigarettenanzünder-
buchse bzw. die Sicherung im Anschlussstecker (2A
Flink).

Stecken Sie den DC-Stecker der gewählten Spannungs-
versorgung in die Eingangsbuchse an der oberen Stirn-
seite des Ladegerätes UFC-1.
Laden von Akkus
-Legen Sie die zu ladenden Akkus in das Ladegerät ein
(beachten Sie die Polarität). Es können entweder 2
oder 4 Mignon- oder Mikro-Akkus gleichzeitig geladen
werden. Ein einzelner oder drei Akkus werden nicht
geladen.
-Wählen Sie mit dem Wahlschalter die eingelegte
Akkuzahl (2 oder 4). Bei Ladungen von zwei Akkus,
müssen diese in die beiden linken Schächte eingelegt
werden.
-Das Ladegerät schaltet nun automatisch in den
Schnelllademodus. Dies wird durch rotes Leuchten
der Ladezustands-LED (LED auf der rechten Seite)
angezeigt.
-Nachdem die Akkus vollgeladen sind, schaltet das
Ladegerät automatisch auf zyklische Erhaltungsla-
dung um. Dies wird durch grünes Leuchten der
Ladezustands-LED angezeigt. Die Akkus müssen
nach Beendigung des Schnelladeverfahrens nicht aus
dem Ladegerät entnommen werden. Die Minus-Del-
ta-U-Abschaltung und die Erhaltungsladefunktion
(Trickle) verhindert ein Überladen der Akkus!

Les accus NiMH haute puissance de Conrad
Energy joints n’ont pas l’effet mémoire. Ceci
signifie que vous pouvez les recharger
même quand ils ne sont pas complètement
déchargés. La haute capacité à fournir une
grande quantité de courant fait de ces accus
l’alimentation en courant idéale d’appareils
photos numériques, d’émetteurs récepteurs
ou similaires.
Fonction Refresh
Cette fonction permet d’éliminer « l’accumulation »
néfaste des accus. Nous vous conseillons de l’utiliser
quand vos accus ne fonctionnent plus correctement.
-Après avoir placé les accus dans l’appareil (voir point
"charge des accus"), mettez le commutateur de
sélection sur "REFRESH".
-La procédure de régénération débute, ce qui est indi-
qué par le fait que le voyant LED REFRESH s’allume
jaune.
-Après l’élimination de l’accumulation, l’appareil s’é-
teint automatiquement, le voyant LED REFRESH s’é-
teint également. L’appareil ne passe pas automa-
tiquement en mode de charge rapide après la
procédure de régénération Refresh.

Fonction de décharge
Cette fonction permet de décharger les accus avant le
début de la recharge rapide. Ceci est particulièrement
conseillé pour les accus de type NiCd afin d’éviter « l’ef-
fet mémoire ». Pour activer la fonction de décharge,
procédez comme suit :
-Après avoir placé les accus dans l’appareil (voir point
"charge des accus"), appuyez sur la touche de
décharge "DISCHARGE".
-La procédure de décharge se met en route. Ceci est
indiqué par le fait que le voyant LED d’indication
d’état de charge s’allume en orange.
-Une fois les accus complètement déchargés, l’ap-
pareil se met automatiquement en mode de charge
rapide, le voyant LED passe au rouge.
Il est possible d’interrompre la procédure de
décharge en ré-appuyant sur la touche
"DISCHARGE", l’appareil passe directement
au mode de charge rapide !

Es wird empfohlen die im Lieferumfang ent-
haltenen NiMH-Akkus vor der ersten Inbe-
triebnahme mehreren Ladezyklen (Entla-
den-Laden) zu unterziehen. Dadurch wird
die maximale Kapazität der Akkus voll ent-
faltet. Akkus verlieren im Laufe der Zeit Ihre
Ladung auch wenn Sie nicht im Gebrauch
sind. Akkus die länger als eine Woche gela-
gert wurden, sollten vor dem Gebrauch
erneut geladen werden.
Entlade-Funktion
Diese Funktion entläd die eingelegten Akkus bevor der
Schnellladevorgang beginnt. Dies ist vor allem bei NiCd-
Akkus sinnvoll um den Memory-Effekt zu vermeiden.
Zum Aktivieren der Entlade-Funktion gehen Sie wie
folgt vor:
-Drücken Sie nach dem Einlegen der Akkus in das
Ladegerät (siehe Punkt "Laden von Akkus") die Entla-
detaste "DISCHARGE".
-Der Entladevorgang startet. Dies wird durch oranges
Leuchten der Ladezustands-LED angezeigt.
-Nachdem die Akkus vollständig entladen sind,
beginnt automatisch der Schnellladevorgang, die
Ladezustands-LED wechselt auf rot.

Während des Entladevorgangs kann durch
drücken der Entladetaste "DISCHARGE" der
Entladevorgang abgebrochen und in den
Schnelllademodus gewechselt werden!
Die beiliegenden Hochleistungs-NiMH-
Akkus von Conrad-Energy haben keinen
Memory-Effekt. Das heißt, Sie können die
Akkus nachladen auch wenn diese noch
nicht vollständig entladen sind. Durch Ihre
Hochstromfähigkeit eigenen Sie diese Zellen
ideal für Digitalkameras, Funkgeräte o.ä.
Refresh-Funktion
Diese Funktion setzt durch Entladung die "Speiche-
rung" der Akkus zurück. Dies wird empfohlen, wenn
Ihre Akkus nicht mehr ordnungsgemäß funktionieren.
-Stellen Sie nach dem Einlegen der Akkus in das Lade-
gerät (siehe Punkt "Laden von Akkus") den Wahl-
schalter auf "REFRESH).
-Der Regenerierungsprozess startet, dies wird durch
gelbes Leuchten der REFRESH-LED angezeigt.
-Nach dem Zurücksetzen des Speichers, schaltet das
Ladegerät automatisch ab, die REFRESH-LED erlischt.
Ein automatischer Start des Schnellladevorgangs
nach dem Refresh-Vorgang erfolgt nicht.

-Choisissez au moyen du commutateur de sélection le
nombre d’accus insérés (2 ou 4). Pour recharger 2
accus, les mettre dans les deux emplacements de
gauche.
-Le chargeur se met automatiquement en mode de
charge rapide. Ceci est indiqué par le fait que le
voyant LED d’indication d’état de charge (LED sur le
côté droit) s’allume en rouge.
-Après les avoir rechargés, le chargeur commute
automatiquement sur la charge de maintien cyclique,
indiquée par le voyant lumineux vert de la DEL de
l´état de charge. Il ne faut pas retirer les accumula-
teurs du chargeur après qu´ils ont été chargés en
mode de charge rapide. L´arrêt de charge moins/del-
ta/U et la fonction de charge de maintien (Trickle)
empêchent une surcharge des accumulateurs !
Nous vous conseillons, avant la première
utilisation des accus NiMH joints de sou-
mettre ceux-ci à plusieurs cycles de char-
ge/décharge pour en développer la capacité
maximum. Les accus se déchargent même
quand ils ne sont pas utilisés. Des accus
n’ayant pas été utilisés pendant plus d’une
semaine doivent être rechargés avant la
mise en service.

Sélectionnez le connecteur d´entrée correspondant pour
la prise de courant. Pour changer le connecteur d´ent-
rée, faites coulisser le tiroir dans le sens de la flèche
jusqu´à ce que le connecteur d´entrée sorte automa-
tiquement du terminal de connexion. Pour introduire le
connecteur d´entrée, placez-le sur le terminal de conne-
xion et enfoncez le connecteur d´entrée désiré jusqu´à
ce qu´il s´enclenche dans le terminal. Branchez le bloc
secteur dans la prise de courant.
2. Câble adaptateur 12V : Branchez le câble adapta-
teur 12V dans une prise allume-cigare. La présence de
tension à la prise DC est indiquée par un voyant LED
rouge sur le câble adaptateur. Si le voyant LED rouge ne
s’allume pas, vérifiez la prise allume-cigare et le fusible
de la fiche de raccordement (2A à action instantanée).
Branchez la fiche DC de l’alimentation en courant choi-
sie dans la douille d’entrée sur la face avant supérieure
du chargeur UFC- 1.
Rechargez les accumulateurs
-Insérez les accumulateurs à recharger dans le char-
geur (respectez la polarité).
Vous pouvez charger simultanément soit 2 soit 4
accus de type R6 Mignon ou R3 Micro. Un accu seul ou
trois accus en même temps ne seront pas rechargés.

Verwendung des Universal-Netzgerätes für andere
Elektro-Kleingeräte
Das mit gelieferte Universal-Schaltsteckernetzgerät kann
auch zum Betrieb von anderen Elektro-Kleingeräten ver-
wendet werden, welche mit Ausgangsspannungen zwi-
schen 3V und 12V Gleichspannung betrieben werden.
Wählen Sie die richtige Ausgangsspannung, Polarität
und Ausgangsstecker für das Elektrogerät aus. Es ste-
hen Ihnen acht verschiedene Ausgangsstecker zur Ver-
fügung.
Entnehmen Sie niemals mehr Strom als auf
der Rückseite des Netzgerätes angegeben.
Achten Sie unbedingt auf richtige Spannung
und Polarität beim Anschluß des Netzgerätes
an Ihr Elektro-Kleingerät.
Nichtbeachten führt zur Zerstörung des
Netzgerätes und des angeschlossenen Elek-
tro-Kleingerätes. Bei Schäden durch
Falschanschluß erlischt die Garantie.
Wartung und Pflege
Trennen Sie das Ladegerät, das Steckernetzgerät sowie
den Adapter vor einer Reinigung oder Wartung von allen
Stromversorgungen. Zur äußerlichen Reinigung verwen-
den Sie lediglich ein weiches, trockenes Reinigungstuch.

Verwenden Sie auf keinen Fall Feuchtigkeit oder Reini-
gungsmittel. Eine Wartung oder Reparatur darf nur durch
eine Fachkraft erfolgen, die mit den einschlägigen Vor-
schriften (VDE 100, VDE 0701) vertraut ist.
Entsorgung
Entsorgen Sie nach einem Defekt das unbrauchbar
gewordene Gerät gemäß den geltenden gesetzlichen
Vorschriften.

Mode d’emploi
Alimentation en tension
Déterminez l’alimentation en courant désirée. Vous avez
le choix entre un adaptateur pour l’alimentation en cou-
rant sur prise secteur 230VAC ou un câble adaptateur
12V pour l’alimentation sur prise allume-cigare d’une
caravane ou autre :
1. Bloc secteur: Le kit de voyage UFC-1 est fourni avec
un bloc secteur universel, permettant d´utiliser
l´appareil d´alimentation, non seulement pour le kit UFC-
1, mais éventuellement aussi pour alimenter d´autres
petits appareils, tels que des lecteurs de CD portables,
les jeux Game boys.
Pour le fonctionnement du UFC-1 sur le bloc secteur,
vous devez régler la tension de sortie du bloc d´alimen-
tation sur 12V (pour ce faire, utilisez la clé fournie) et
choisir le connecteur de sortie correspondant pour
l´UFC-1. Pour faciliter la connexion, une flèche rouge
indique le connecteur vide correspondant (5,0 x 2,1m).
Cette flèche rouge doit coïncider avec la flèche rouge
située sur le câble de sortie du bloc secteur.

Prenez soin à ne jamais court-circuiter les contacts de
chargement ni les accus ! Il est normal que les accus
s’échauffent pendant la recharge. Soyez prudents
quand vous touchez des accus qui viennent d’être
rechargés ! Ni l’appareil ni les accus ne sont des jouets
pour enfants, maintenez-les hors de leur portée !
Précision relative à la protection de l’en-
vironnement !
Le consommateur est tenu de recycler

Dear customer,
Thank you for purchasing the quick charger set UFC 1
Traveller. The product which you purchased is a set
which was built according to the current state of the art.
This product is EMC-tested and, therefore, satisfies the
standards of the established European and national gui-
delines. CE-conformity has been proved; the relevant
documents are in the manufacturer's possession.
We kindly request the user to respect this operating
manual to preserve this condition and to ensure safe
operation.
Prescribed use
This appliance is intended for charging, discharging and
refreshing NiCd and NiMH accumulators type mignon
(AA) and micro (AAA) suited for quick charge. The only
voltage sources which require to be used are the plug-in
power supply set (voltage supplied for the plug-in power
supply set: 100V-240V AC) which is comprised in the
delivery or the accompanying cigarette lighter adapter
cable (voltage supply for the automobile battery: 12 V
DC). Keep and operate the set only in a dry environment;
avoid contact with moisture.

Ne rechargez jamais des accus de type R6 Mignon et de
type R3 Micro en même temps. L’appareil peut rechar-
ger au maximum 4 accus de même type en même
temps. La recharge simultanée de différents types d’ac-
cus peut provoquer l’éclatement des accus, des fuites
ou même blesser des personnes.

Delivery Scope
The delivery consists of the quick charger UFC 1, a uni-
versal plug-type power pack with four input and 8 out-
put plugs, a 12 V cigarette lighter adapter cable, 8 mig-
non accumulators 200 mAh NiMH, a practical storage
bag as well as an operating manual.

Any claims for guarantee will become

tes that there are important observations
in the instructions for use. Study the

The set must not be opened or rebuilt for easons of
safety and approval.
Only charge nickel metal hydride (NiMH) and nickel-
cadmium (NiCd) accumulators with this device. Never
attempt to charge disposable batteries. Do not use this
appliance for charging chargeable alkaline accumula-
tors (RAM). Never charge different types of accumula-
tors at the same time!
Never charge Mignon and microcells at a time. The set
is capable of charging a maximum of 4 identical cells at
a time. Charging different accumulator types at a time
might cause the batteries to burst or leak or might even
injure persons.
Never short-circuit the charging contacts, the power pack
or the accumulators! It is common that the accumulators
will heat up while being charged. Handle freshly char-
ged accumulators with great care.
The set and accumulators are not a toy for children.
Keep them out of the reach of children.
Instruction for environmental protection:
The law (the provision on exhausted bat-
teries) obliges the end user to return all
used batteries and accumulators (from
button cells to lead accumulators); any
disposal thereof via the domestic waste
is prohibited.

basis to both our branch companies and
our central company based at Hirschau
and the municipal disposal facilities
(waste collection yards) which are also
obliged to accept them as before.

How to operate
Voltage supply
Decide on the voltage supply you desire. You may select
between a plug-in power supply unit for 230 V AC
socket and a 12V adapter cable for cigarette lighters in
camping vans or the like:
1. Plug-type power pack: The UFC 1 comes with a uni-
versal plug-type power pack. This has the advantage
that you cannot only use the power pack for the UFC 1
but also as a power supply for other small appliances
like portable CD players, gameboys, etc.
In order to operate the UFC 1 with the power pack, you
need to set the output voltage of the power pack to 12 V
(use the enclosed key for this) and select the proper
output plug for the UFC 1. For simplification, the mat-

ching hollow plug (5.0 x 2.1 cm) is marked with a red
arrow. This red arrow must match the red arrow on the
output cable of the power pack.
Select the right input plug for the wall outlet. In order to
insert the input plug, slide the lock slider in the direction
of the arrow until the input plug snaps out of the
connection terminal. In order to insert the input plug,
place it on the connection terminal and press it into the
terminal until it snaps into place. Plug the power plug
into a wall outlet.
2. 12V adapter cable: Plug the 12V adapter cable into a
cigarette lighter jack. The existence of a voltage on the
DC plug is signalled by a red LED on the adapter cable.
If the red LED should not go on check the cigarette ligh-
ter jack or the fuse in the connection plug (2 A, quick-
action) for its functionality.
Insert the DC plug of the voltage supply chosen by you
into the inlet jack at the upper front-end face of the
UFC-1 charging set.

Using the universal power pack for other small electric
appliances
The provided universal plug-type power pack can also
be used for operating other small electric appliances
with output voltages of between 3V and 12 V DC.
Select the right output voltage, polarity and output plug
for the device. You have eight different output plugs at
your disposal.
Never use more current than indicated on the
back of the power pack.
Observe the right voltage and polarity when
connecting the power pack to other small
electric appliances.
Non-compliance leads to the destruction of
the power pack and the connected electric
appliance. The guarantee will be null and void
in case of damages due to wrong connection.
Maintenance and care
Disconnect the charging set, the plug-in power supply
unit as well as the adapter from all power supplies prior to
any cleaning or maintenance. Only use a soft, dry clea-

Charging accumulators
-First insert the accumulators to be charged into the
charger (observe the correct polarity). 2 or 4 Mignon
or Micro accumulators may be charged at a time. A
single accumulator or three accumulators will not be
charged.
-Use the selector switch to choose the number of accu-
mulators to be inserted (2 or 4). If you charge 2 accu-
mulators place them in the two left-hand apertures.
-The charging set will now automatically change over
to the rapid charging mode. This is signalled by the
charging condition LED (LED on the right-hand side)
being lit red.
-As soon as the accumulators are completely charged,
the charger automatically switches to cyclic trickle
charge. This is indicated by the green light of the
charge state LED. You do not need to remove the
accumulators from the charger after the quick charge
process is completed. The negative-delta-U cutout
and the trickle charge function prevent the overchar-
ging of the accumulators.

We recommend to subject the NiMH accu-
mulators comprised in the delivery to sever-
al charging (discharging-charging) cycles
before putting them into service. This helps
in fully developing the maximum capacity of
the accumulators. Accumulators will loose
their charge in the course of time even
though you do not use them. Accumulators
which were stored for more than a week
should be recharged prior to use.
Discharge function
This function discharges the inserted accumulators
before the rapid charging operation begins. This is use-
ful specifically for NiCd accumulators to avoid the
memory effect. For an activation of the discharge func-
tion, proceed as follows:
-Press the discharge key "DISCHARGE" after inserting
the accumulators into the charging set (see the item
"How to charge accumulators").
-The discharging operation will then start. This is sig-
nalled by the charging condition LED being lit orange.
-After the accumulators are completely discharged the
rapid charging procedure will begin automatically
with the charging condition LED changing over to red.

The discharging operation, while under way,
may be ceased by pressing the discharging
key "DISCHARGE" and changing over to the
rapid charging mode becomes possible.
The accompanying high-efficiency NiMH
accumulators from Conrad Energy have no
memory effect. This means that you may
recharge the accumulators even if they are
not completely discharged yet. The high-
power capability of these cells makes them
ideally suited for use in digital cameras,
radio sets or the like.
Refreshing function
This function resets the "accumulation state" of the
accumulators. This is recommended if your accumula-
tors should no longer function properly.
-Set the selector switch to "REFRESH" after inserting
the accumulators into the charging set (see the item
"How to charge accumulators").
-The regeneration process starts, which is signalled by
the REFRESH LED being lit yellow.
-After the accumulator is reset the charging set will be
automatically switched off and the REFRESH LED is
extinguished. There is no automatic start of the
