Allmän information
Volvo Original Bilradio är speciellt anpassad och utvecklad för· Volvo
140-serien och Volvo 164. Kan dock med fördel även monteras i övriga
Volvofordon. Viss extra utrustning kan dock behövas i sådana fall (t ex
separata galler).
. Det bör dock beaktas att radion främst är avsedd för 12 volts negativt
jordade fordon.
(För fordon med
24 volt användes Volvos kortslutningssäkra omfor-
mare).

Genuine Volvo ca~ radios have been specially designed and developed
for the Volvo 140 and 164 Series. But they are also extreme ly suitable
for other Volvo vehicles. However in these cases a certain amount of
extra equipment may become necessary (separate grilles for instance).
It should be observed that these radios are primarily intended for
vehicles with 12 V negative earth.
(The Volvo short-circuit proof transformer should
be used on vehicles
with 24 V electrics)_

Instruktioner för användning
1. Antenn
Gör stationsinställning och drag ut antennen i rekommenderad längd.
Ca 1 meter vid FM-mottagning, ca 1,40 meter vid AM-mottagning.
2. Strömbrytare och volymkontroll
Till/från-knappen och volymkontrollen är kombinerade den yttre
vänstra knappen.
3. Manuell inställning
Våglängd väljes genom tryck på en av de två AM-knapparna eller en gV
de tre FM-knapparna. Därefter sker stationsinställning genom vridning
av högra knappen. Gör inställningen så exakt som möjligt för bästa
möjliga ljud. Vid felaktig inställning är ljudet dåligt och störningar
förekommer.
Operating Instructions
1. Aerial (antenna)
Tune in to the required station and pull out the aerial to the
recommended length (about 1 metre (3 ft) for FM stations and 1.40
metres (4 1/2 f t) for AM stations).
2. Switch and volume controi
_The upper left-hand knob is a combined switch and volume controI.
3. Manual tl.lning
Select
the desired wave band (FM or AM) by pushing in one of the two
AM or three FM buttons. Tune in by rotating the right-hand knob until
the desired station is obtained. Make sure that you tune in exactly as
otherwise you will get poor tonal quaiity and interference.

4. Tonkontroll
Justera
tonkontrollen till önskad ton med den vänstra inre knappen.
5. Tryckknappsinställning
Vid användandet
av de två vänstra tryckknapparna kopplas radion
automatiskt till mellanvåg. Använder man de
tre högra knapparna
kopplas radion till utrakortvåg.
Tryck
in någon av knapparna hårt och inställning sker automatiskt till
den station på vilken tryckknappen är förinställd.
4. Tone controi
The
tone (bass and treblel is controlled by the lower left-hand button.
5. Push-button tuning
You en gage the medium wave band depressing any of the three
left-hand buttons
l and
the ultra-short-wave by depressing either of the
two right-hand ones. After the push buttons have been set up, you get
~the desired pre-set station automatically by depressing the relevant
button firmly.

6. Tryckknappar
a. Efter stationsval, drag ut den
första tryckknappen. Därige-
nom friställes knappen
för
stationsinställningen.
b. Ställ noggrant in önskad sta-
tion med manuella inställ-
ningsknappen. Gör exakt sta-
tionsinställning.
c.
Lås knappen vid inställd sta-
tion genom att trycka in
knappen hårt.
d. Följ ovanstående beskrivning
för övriga fyra knappar.
6. Setting up push
buttons
a. Af ter selecting the wave
band, uniock
the first button
by pulling it out.
b. Tune in carefully to the sta-
tion desired with
the manual
tuning knob.
Tune in exactly.
c. Lock into
the station by firm-
ly depressing the button.
d. Follow the above" procedure
on
the remaining four but-
tons.

Allmänna anmärkningar
1. Triming all antenn
Antennen skall vara avpassad till mottagaren vid installationen.
Antenntrimmen skall justeras enligt följande:
Drag ut antennen i dess fulla längd, sätt på radion och tag in en svag
AM-station på
omkr. 1400 kHz.
Justera radions antenntrimmer till mottagningen är som starkast.
2. Störningar
Störningar minskas genom filter inbyggt i apparaten. Ytter Iigare effekt
uppnås om avstörningskondensatorn sätts på generatorterminal märkt
D+, och om motstånd insättes i högspänningskabeln, mellan tändspole
och fördelare samt till tändstiften.
3. Säkringar
Säkring finns i säkringshållaren vid strömledaren (blå färg). Vid
säkringsbyte använd 2 amp. säkringar.
4. Högtalare
Högtalare med 4 ohms impedans bör användas, om utbyte behöver ske.
General Nates
1. Aerial (antenna) trimmer
The aerial must be matched with the radio when installed. Adjust the
aerial trimmer as follows.
Extend the aerial right the way out, turn on the radio and tune into a
weak AM station around 1,400 kHz.
Adjust the aerial trimmer until the station is reeeived at maximum
strength with minimum interference.
2. I nterference
I nterference is supressed by the filters incorporated in the internai
eircuits.
However this will be even more effeetive if suppressors are
fitted on the alternator and ignition eoil terminals, and resistors
inserted in the high-tension eable and ignition eables.
3. Fuse
The fuse is loeated in the fuse holder for the power lead (blue).
4. loudspeaker
Always use a genuine Volvo loudspeaker for replacement purpose (4
ohm voiee eoil impedanee).
