Introduction
INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing the VTech®My Friend Alice
VTech®My Friend Alice is a playful interactive bear! Press her hands,
heart and feet to identify body parts and listen to songs and phrases
relating to the pressed body part. Alice features different textures
that enhance sensory development and includes accessories for
manipulative stimulation.

wire ties and tags are not part of this toy and
should be discarded for your child’s safety.
NOTE: Please keep user’s manual as it contains important
information.
GETTING STARTED
BATTERY INSTALLATION
1. Make sure the unit is turned OFF.
2. Locate the battery cover on the back
of the unit. Use a screwdriver to loosen
the screw.
3. Install 2 new AAA (AM-4/LR03)
batteries following the diagram inside
the battery box. (The use of new,
alkaline batteries is recommended for
maximum performance.)
4. Replace the battery cover and
tighten the screw to secure.

must not be disposed of in domestic waste as they contain
substances that can be damaging to the environment
and human health.
The chemical symbols Hg, Cd or Pb, where marked,
indicate that the battery contains more than the specified
valueofmercury(Hg),cadmium(Cd)orlead(Pb)setout
inBatteryDirective(2006/66/EC).
The solid bar indicates that the product was placed on
the market after 13th August, 2005.

PRODUCT FEATURES
1. ON/OFF/VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH
Locate the electronic box inside your
bear. To turn the unit ON, slide the ON/
OFF/VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH
to the LOW VOLUME ( ) or the
HIGH VOLUME ( ) position.
To turn the unit OFF, slide the ON/
OFF/VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH
to the OFF ( ) position.
2. AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF
To preserve battery life, the VTech®My Friend Alice will
automatically power-down after approximately 40 seconds without
input. The unit can be turned on again by pressing any button.
ACTIVITIES
1. AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF
Once the main power is on, press the
ON/OFF BUTTON on Alice’s clothes to
turn it ON and OFF.
2. LEFT HAND/STORIES
Squeeze Alice’s left hand to learn about
her hand, you will also hear a story about
Alice and her friend. Press and hold her
right hand for more than one second to
hear a fun phrase about reading.

3. RIGHT HAND
Squeeze Alice’s right hand to learn about
her hand. Clap your hands and follow
Alice’s beat. Press and hold her right
hand for more than one second to hear
Alice introduce herself.
4. RIGHT FOOT/MUSIC
Squeeze Alice’s right foot to learn about
her foot. You will also hear playful songs
and melodies.
5. LEFT FOOT
Squeeze Alice’s left foot button to hear
playful phrases about her foot and her
shoe.
6. HEART
Press Alice’s heart button to hear fun
phrases about the heart and Alice’s
favourite clothing. Press and hold this
button for more than one second to hear
a loving message.

2. Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
3. Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat
source.
4. Removethebatterieswhentheunitisnotinuseforanextended
period of time.
5. Donotdroptheunitonhardsurfacesanddonotexposetheunitto
moisture or water.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Ifforsomereasontheprogram/activitystopsworkingormalfunctions,
pleasefollowthesesteps:
1. Please turn the unit OFF.
2. Interruptthepowersupplybyremovingthebatteries.
3. Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
4. Turn the unit ON. The unit should now be ready to play again.
5. If the product still does not work, replace with an entire set of new
batteries.
