VWR International warrants that this product will be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of
two (2) years from date of delivery. If a defect is present, VWR will, at its option and cost, repair, replace, or refund
the purchase price of this product to the customer, provided it is returned during the warranty period. This warranty
does not apply if the product has been damaged by accident, abuse, misuse, or misapplication, or from ordinary wear
and tear. If the required maintenance and inspection services are not performed according to the manuals and any
local regulations, such warranty turns invalid, except to the extent, the defect of the product is not due to such non-
performance.
Items being returned must be insured by the customer against possible damage or loss. This warranty shall be limited
to the aforementioned remedies. IT IS EXPRESSLY AGREED THAT THIS WARRANTY WILL BE IN LIEU OF ALL
WARRANTIES OF FITNESS AND IN LIEU OF THE WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY.
Equipment disposal
This equipment is marked with the crossed out wheeled bin symbol to indicate that this equipment must not be
disposed of with unsorted waste.
Instead it's your responsibility to correctly dispose of your equipment at lifecycle -end by handling it over to an
authorized facility for separate collection and recycling. It's also your responsibility to decontaminate
the equipment in case of biological, chemical and/or radiological contamination, so as to protect from
health hazards the persons involved in the disposal and recycling of the equipment.
For more information about where you can drop off your waste of equipment, please contact your
local dealer from whom you originally purchased this equipment.

1. SAFETY INFORMATION

Symbol

This symbol points to some danger for persons or the unit, maximum attention is needed in this case.

This symbols shows, that the unit can have hot surfaces.

CE-sign (Communauté Européenne). The product which carries this symbol meets the requirements
of the referring EU-directives (European standards).
This symbols shows, that the unit must not be disposed with the domestic waste, but collected at
special collection points for disposal.
This symbol marks the unit as unit protection class 1. All electrical conductive parts of the housing are
connected to the protective earthing system of the installation, which has earth potential.
This symbol indicates that the unit has a heating system to warm up the cleaning liquid.

Following safety information must be read and respected before start-up and operation of the ultrasonic cleaning unit:
•Any person using this product must have read and understood this manual. Keep this manual close to the device;
it must be permanently accessible to the operator. This will prevent operator error and ensure operation free of
trouble.
•Check your device for any transport damage. If you find shipping damage, the device must not be connected to
the mains.
•The power cord must be removed from the socket only by pulling the plug, do not pull at the cable. The plug must
not be touched with wet / damp hands.
•Power cords must be routed without loops and must not be bent or wrapped around sharp edges.
•The intended use of the ultrasonic cleaning unit is described in this documentation and must be followed.
•Insufficient information about handling or operation can cause irreparable damage and injuries. As a result, the
unit must be operated by trained personnel only.
•The ultrasonic cleaning unit must be located on a dry, hard and flat horizontal surface.
•The ultrasonic cleaning unit must be connected to the supply voltage specified on the rating label only. The mains
connection must be designed for the rated power consumption.
Always use the correct power cord or –adapter for the available socket outlet.
•Only use cleaning liquids which are approved for use with ultrasonic energy.
•Cleaning liquid in use becomes hot. When cleaning temperature sensitive parts check temperature of cleaning
liquid frequently.
•Flammable or explosive liquids and liquids which will corrode the tank material (CrNi steel 1.4301) must not be
used. Liquids which contain halogens (chlorine, bromine or iodine ions) can cause irreparable damages.
•Never switch on the ultrasonic cleaning unit without cleaning liquid. The cleaning tank must be filled at least to 7/8
of volume (approx. up to the seam). Also ensure that the tank is filled enough during operation.
•The temperature rise of the cleaning liquid caused by heaters or ultrasonic energy can result in steaming. Ensure
adequate ventilation at the environment of installation.
•Fluid must not get inside the unit. Wipe off any fluid which has slopped over and is leaking down the side walls as
soon as possible
•The items to be cleaned must not be placed directly on the bottom of the tank. Use a suitable cleaning basket.
•Never leave the ultrasonic cleaning unit unattended during operation.
•If the unit does not have to be ready for operation, disconnect it from the power supply (unplug it from mains).
•Never operate the unit if it has been damaged. Inspect the device and the power cord for outer damages
frequently. Repairs must only be carried out by the manufacturer.
•Observe the statutory regulations when disposing of the cleaning liquid and disposing the unit.

WARNING:
To avoid risk of electric shock, this equipment must only be connected to supply mains with
protective earth (PE).
Take special note on using the proper power cable and/or adapter for the available power outlet.
WARNING:
There is a danger of injury and burns through:
•Ultrasonic energy!
Never grab in the tank with your hands when the ultrasonic energy is switched on. Always
switch off the ultrasonic when inserting or removing the items to be cleaned!
•Hot liquid!
•Hot surfaces!
•Toxic vapor!
During operation it is permitted to touch or to handle the unit with the handles or at the control panel
only.
After use the unit must cool down min. 30min prior to touching the housing.
WARNING:
For usage of the cleaning unit and handling with cleaning agent you generally have to wear adequate
personal protective equipment (PPE) corresponding to the standards:
•Safety gloves
•Safety glasses
•Ear protection
•Breathing protection
•Protective clothing
•Protective boots
WARNING:
No modification of this equipment is allowed.
Do not carry out any repair. In case of service, send the unit back to the manufacturer.

2. GENERAL
2.1. Intended purpose / lifetime
The USC ultrasonic cleaning units were especially developed for cleaning tasks in laboratory facilities of commercial
use.
The expected life time of the USC ultrasonic cleaning units depends basically on the quality of maintenance and
cleaning. With proper use, maintenance, cleaning and any necessary repairs a lifetime of five years can be expected.
This does not include consumables such as cable / connectors, cleaning baskets and similar.
Only accessories which are approved by or can be obtained from the manufacturer have to be used.
2.2. Cleaning liquid
The cleaning liquid which has to be used depends on the material of the items to be cleaned and the type of soiling.
Please contact the supplier of the cleaning agent.
3. START-UP
•Check if the mains connection, which must have a protective earth conductor, confirms with the specification on
the rating label of your device.
•Connect the power socket connector at the rear of the unit. If the power cord is already connected, check that this
is done properly.
•The ultrasonic cleaning unit must be located on a dry, hard and flat horizontal surface.
•Fill the cleaning tank with a suitable cleaning liquid depending on the application. The level must be at least 7/8 of
volume (approx. up to the seam).
Take note of the respective safety regulations for handling chemicals.
•Connect the ultrasonic cleaning unit to the mains, the unit is ready for operation.
WARNING:
To avoid risk of electric shock, this equipment must only be connected to supply mains with
protective earth.
Take special note on using the proper power cable and/or adapter for the available power outlet.
As a result of the design, the EU connector (CEE 7/7) fits mechanically into the DK socket outlet
(Denmark) but does not connect the protective earth conductor (PE).
Never use the EU connector in combination with DK socket outlets
DANGER TO LIFE AND LIMB!
Adapters are one-time mountable only and cannot be removed after applying to the connector.
Therefore be sure to mount the proper adapter.
WARNING:
The power plug is used to disconnect the unit from mains.
The used power outlet must be permanently accessible and must not be covered by the unit or any
other objects, so the mains plug can be unplugged at any time.

4. OPERATION

4.1. Operating elements
The devices have a mechanical timer which allows an adjustable time set of ultrasonic operating up to 30 minutes or
continuous operation. For on-times below 2 minutes, first of all turn the knob to a longer time and then turn it back to
the desired value. The continuous ultrasonic operation is obtained by turning the rotary knob anti-clockwise from the
'0' position over the latching point.
The ultrasonic energy applied to the fluid is visible in the form of undulations on the surface of the fluid.
USC100TH: An orange indicator in the heater switch lights up when the heater is enabled. The temperature is preset
fixed to 65degC.
USC200T, TH: During ultrasonic operation a green indicator lights up. The USC200TH has additionally a green
indicator when the heater is enabled and a yellow indicator if the set temperature is not reached. To adjust the
desired set temperature turn the knob to the desired value (in degC).
4.2. Ultrasonic cleaning
•Immerse the items to be cleaned in the cleaning bath, the distance of the items from the bottom must be at least
20 mm (0.8 inches). If required, use the cleaning basket which is available as an accessory.
•Set the required cleaning time and temperature for the cleaning process (if applicable). The value excessively
depends on the cleaning fluid, temperature, type and degree of soiling of the items requiring cleaning. The time
can vary from a few seconds to a few minutes. The best combination of the parameters may have to be
experimentally determined.
•Start the cleaning process by switching on the ultrasonic operation.
•After the cleaning process remove the items out of the liquid with suitable care. We recommend rinsing the parts
in clean water.
•Disconnect the ultrasonic cleaning unit from mains if the unit is not needed.
WARNING:
Consider the temperature tolerance of the material to be cleaned!
Please note that the bath temperature rises considerably with duration of the ultrasonic operation and
can exceed the set temperature.
Never put the items to be cleaned directly on the bottom of the tank.
Never clean too many items at once, the cleaning result can deteriorate.
4.3. Emptying the tank
If the cleaning result becomes worse or if the cleaning liquid has got contaminated, the cleaning liquid must be
replaced.
Prior to any emptying or cleaning the unit must be disconnected from mains.

4.4. Accessories

To prevent evaporation of the tank contents and odor nuisance.
•Cleaning basket (stainless steel)
For carrying the items to be cleaned. The basket can be suspended in the cleaning tank and it also
can be placed on the edge of the tank with the handles for draining.
•Cover with openings for beakers (different sizes)
•easy cleaning of small parts
•less needs of cleaning solvent
•cleaning in different cleaning solvents
The ultrasonic energy is coupled inside the filled beaker by the liquid around through the glass. Fill
the tank with water and add a surface-active agent (e.g. washing-up liquid).
5. MAINTENANCE
WARNING:
The ultrasonic cleaning unit needs low maintenance.
Regard following notes:
•Prior to any emptying or cleaning the unit must be disconnected from mains.
•Keep the device clean. Wipe the housing frequently with a damp cloth. Remove cleaning agent residues
immediately.
•Ensure that the cleaning liquid does not soil the housing during cleaning.
Clean, replace and dispose the cleaning liquid in accordance with the supplier's recommendations.
•Avoid scratching the inner tank surface, this accelerates cavitation (erosion). Ensure the items to be cleaned have
no direct contact with the bottom or inner sidewalls of the tank and try to keep none or only small amounts of
pollution on the bottom of the cleaning tank. If necessary, the cleaning liquid should be drained off prematurely, so
the tank can be cleaned.
•Check the unit and the power cord for damages frequently and prior to any use.
A visibly damaged unit or cable must not be put in operation and must be disconnected from the mains.
Do not carry out repairs yourself. Send the unit to the manufacturer for servicing or repair.
•There are any parts to maintain or which have to be changed by the user inside the unit.
If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced with the manufacturer's original part only.

6.5. Persistency of the front overlay to solvents
The front overlay is based on a polyester foil with a biaxial alignment and has therefore a higher persistence against
solvents compared with e.g. polycarbonate or PVC. It is stronger and more durable than other foils generally used for
plastic foil keyboards and front panels.

Folgende Sicherheitshinweise sind vor der Inbetriebnahme und Bedienung des Ultraschall-Reinigungsgerätes zu
lesen und zu beachten:
•Jede Person, welche dieses Produkt nutzt, muss die vorliegende Bedienungsanleitung gelesen und verstanden
haben. Diese Bedienungsanleitung muss beim Gerät aufbewahrt werden und für den Benutzer permanent
zugänglich sein. Dadurch werden Bedienungsfehler vermieden und ein störungsfreier Betrieb ist gewährleistet.
•Kontrollieren Sie das Gerät auf eventuelle Transportschäden. Sollten Sie Transportschäden feststellen, darf das
Gerät nicht an die Netzversorgung angeschlossen werden.
•Das Netzkabel darf beim Entfernen aus der Steckdose nur am Netzstecker angefasst werden. Der Netzstecker
darf nicht mit nassen oder feuchten Händen berührt werden.
•Netzanschlussleitungen müssen ohne Schlingen verlegt werden, sie dürfen nicht geknickt oder um scharfe
Kanten gelegt werden.
•Der bestimmungsgemäße Gebrauch des Ultraschall-Reinigungsgerätes ist in dieser Dokumentation beschrieben
und zu beachten.
•Unzureichende Information über Bedienung oder Betrieb kann irreparable Beschädigungen sowie Verletzungen
verursachen. Die Bedienung des Gerätes darf deshalb nur durch eingewiesenes Personal erfolgen.
•Das Ultraschall-Reinigungsgerät muss an einem trockenen, festen und waagrechten Standort aufgestellt werden.
•Das Ultraschall-Reinigungsgerät darf nur an die auf dem Typenschild angegebene Netzspannung angeschlossen
werden, der Netzanschluss muss gemäß der angegebenen Leistungsaufnahme entsprechend ausgelegt sein.
Achten Sie unbedingt auf die Verwendung der korrekten Netzanschlussleitung bzw. -adapters für die Ihnen zur
Verfügung stehende Steckdose.
•Verwenden Sie ausschließlich Reinigungsflüssigkeiten, welche für den Ultraschalleinsatz zugelassen sind.
•Verwendete Reinigungsflüssigkeiten erwärmen sich. Kontrollieren Sie bei der Reinigung temperaturempflindlicher
Teile regelmäßig die Temperatur.
•Brennbare oder explosive Flüssigkeiten, sowie Flüssigkeiten, die den Wannenwerkstoff angreifen (CrNi-Stahl
1.4301) dürfen nicht verwendet werden. Durch Flüssigkeiten, die Halogene enthalten (Chlor-, Brom- oder
Jodionen), können irreparable Schäden entstehen.
•Das Ultraschall-Reinigungsgerät darf niemals ohne Reinigungsflüssigkeit eingeschaltet werden. Der
Reinigungsbehälter muss mindestens 7/8 mit Flüssigkeit gefüllt sein, achten Sie auch während des Betriebes
stets auf einen ausreichenden Flüssigkeitspegel.
•Durch die Heizung oder zugeführter Ultraschallenergie kann es zu Erwärmung und dadurch zu Dampfentwicklung
kommen. Die ausreichende Belüftung am Aufstellungsort muss gewährleistet sein.
•Es darf keine Flüssigkeit in das Geräteinnere gelangen, übergetretene Flüssigkeit ist schnellstmöglich
abzuwischen, bzw. aufzunehmen.
•Das Reinigungsgut darf nicht direkt auf den Behälterboden gelegt oder gestellt werden, verwenden Sie den
entsprechenden Reinigungskorb.
•Lassen Sie das Ultraschall-Reinigungsgerät während des Betriebes niemals unbeobachtet.
•Falls eine Betriebsbereitschaft des Gerätes nicht erforderlich sein sollte, ist dieses vom Netzanschluss zu
trennen, ziehen Sie hierzu den Netzstecker.
•Nehmen Sie das Gerät keinesfalls in Betrieb, wenn es Beschädigungen aufweist. Prüfen Sie in regelmäßigen
Abständen das Gerät und die Anschlussleitung auf äußere Beschädigungen. Eine Reparatur ist nur durch den
Hersteller zulässig.
•Beim Entsorgen des Gerätes und der Reinigungsflüssigkeit sind die gesetzlichen Vorschriften zu beachten.

ACHTUNG:
Um einen elektrischen Schlag zu vermeiden, muss das Gerät an eine Netzversorgung mit
Schutzleiterverbindung (PE) angeschlossen werden.
Achten Sie unbedingt auf die Verwendung der korrekten Netzanschlussleitung bzw. -adapter
für die Ihnen zur Verfügung stehende Steckdose.
ACHTUNG:
Es besteht Verletzungs- und Verbrennungsgefahr durch:
•Ultraschallenergie!
Fassen Sie niemals während des Ultraschallbetriebes in den Behälter, schalten Sie den
Ultraschall zum Einbringen oder Herausnehmen des Reinigungsgutes stets ab!
•Heiße Flüssigkeit!
•Heiße Oberflächen!
•Giftige Dämpfe!
Während des Betriebs darf das Gerät nur an den Griffmulden und an der Bedienoberfläche
angefasst bzw. berührt werden.
Nach Benutzung muß das Gerät mindestens 30min abkühlen bevor das Gehäuse berührt
werden darf.
ACHTUNG:
Tragen Sie generell eine für die Bedienung und den Umgang mit dem Reinigungsmittel
angemessene und den Normen entsprechende persönliche Schutzausrüstung (PSA):
•Schutzhandschuhe
•Schutzbrille
•Gehörschutz
•Atemschutz
•Schutzbekleidung
•Sicherheitsschuhe
ACHTUNG:
Umbauten oder sonstige Änderungen am Gerät sind nicht zulässig.
Führen Sie keine eigenständigen Reparaturen durch. Senden Sie das Gerät im Servicefall an
den Hersteller.

2. ALLGEMEINES
2.1. Verwendungszweck / Lebensdauer
Die USC-Ultraschallreinigungsgeräte wurden speziell für die Anwendung von Reinigungsaufgaben in Labor-
einrichtungen entwickelt und sind für die gewerbliche Nutzung vorgesehen.
Die voraussichtliche Lebensdauer der USC-Ultraschallreinigungsgeräte ist im Wesentlichen von der Qualität der
Wartung und Reinigung abhängig. Bei sachgemäßer Nutzung, Wartung und Reinigung sowie eventuell notwendiger
Reparaturen kann mit einer Lebensdauer von fünf Jahren gerechnet werden. Ausgenommen davon sind
Verschleißteile wie Kabel- / Steckverbindungen, Einsatzkörbe und ähnliches.
Es darf ausschließlich Zubehör verwendet werden, welches durch VWR International freigegeben ist bzw. hier
bezogen werden kann.
2.2. Reinigungsflüssigkeit
Welche Reinigungsflüssigkeit eingesetzt wird, ist abhängig vom Material des Reinigungsgutes und der Art der
Verschmutzung. Wenden Sie sich hierbei bitte an den Reinigungsmittelhersteller.
3. INBETRIEBNAHME
•Prüfen Sie, ob der Ihnen zur Verfügung stehende Netzanschluss, der mit einem Schutzleiter versehen sein
muss, mit den Angaben auf dem Typenschild Ihres Gerätes übereinstimmt.
•Stecken Sie den Netzanschlussstecker in die Gerätedose auf der Rückseite des Gerätes. Falls die
Netzleitung bereits am Gerät angeschlossen ist, prüfen Sie, ob dies korrekt erfolgt ist.
•Stellen Sie das Ultraschall-Reinigungsgerät auf einer festen, trockenen und waagrechten Unterlage auf.
•Füllen Sie die Reinigungswanne mit Wasser und geben Sie je nach Anwendungsfall ein entsprechendes
Reinigungsmittel hinzu. Die Füllhöhe muss mindestens 7/8 (ca. bis zur Sicke) betragen.
Bitte beachten Sie beim Umgang mit Chemikalien die entsprechenden Sicherheitsvorschriften.
•Stecken Sie den Netzstecker in die Steckdose, die Anzeige der Bedienoberfläche leuchtet auf, das Gerät
ist betriebsbereit.
ACHTUNG:
Achten Sie unbedingt auf die Verwendung der korrekten Netzanschlussleitung bzw. -adapter für
die Ihnen zur Verfügung stehende Steckdose.
Konstruktionsbedingt passt der EU-Stecker (CEE 7/7) mechanisch in die DK-Steckdose (Dänemark),
jedoch ohne den Schutzleiter (PE) zu verbinden.
Verwenden Sie niemals den EU-Stecker in Verbindung mit DK-Steckdosen
- LEBENSGEFAHR! –
Die Adapter können nach Montage nicht mehr vom Stecker entfernt werden, vergewissern Sie sich
deshalb, dass Sie den richtigen Adapter montieren
ACHTUNG:
Der Netzstecker dient zur Trennung des Gerätes vom Netz.
Die verwendete Steckdose muss jederzeit erreichbar sein und darf nicht durch das Gerät oder
andere Gegenstände verdeckt werden, so dass der Netzstecker des Gerätes jederzeit gezogen
werden kann.
