1. Beschreibung
Das HEATKILLER® MB-
X ASUS RAMPAGE
IV Black Edition ist die o timale Kühllösung für
Ihr ASUS Mainboard. Es werden alle
relevanten Hitzequellen des Mainboards
gekühlt. Dies erhöht die Stabilität, und
gleichzeitig das Übertaktungs otential.

2. Preparation of the mainboard
First, demount the original heat sinks (see
icture 1) by removing the screws on t
he
mainboard’s backside. Take care not to
damage the heat sinks and heat i e. You may
want to kee them in case they are needed for
any RMA- rocedures.
After demounting the original heat sinks,
lease remove all remnants of thermal
ads/com ounds. Be caref
ul not to damage
your hardware. The HEATKILLER® MB-
X kit
shi s with recut thermal ads for easy
installation.

2. Vorbereitung der Installation
Entfernen Sie zuerst die original verbauten
Kühlkör er des Mainboards. Siehe Abbildung
1. Lösen sie dazu die Schrauben auf der
Rückseite
des Mainboards. Achten sie darauf
die Kühlkör er und die Heat i e nicht zu
beschädigen. Heben sie die Teile für einen
eventuellen Garantiefall des Mainboards auf.
Sobald die Kühlkör er demontiert wurden,
entfernen Sie bitte eventuell noch vorhandene
Wärme
leit aste auf den elektronischen
Bauteilen. Gehen sie dabei bitte besonders
vorsichtig vor um die Hardware nicht zu
beschädigen. Für die leichte Montage des
HEATKILLER® MB-
X Sets befinden sich
bereits fertig zugeschnittene Wärmeleit ads im
Lieferumfang.

3. Mounting the VRM cooler
First, lace the cooler at its intended osition.
If the cooler does not fit, there might have
been undocumented c
hanges on your revision
of the mainboard. If it does fit you can
roceed with the mounting:
Two long thermal ads of 1 mm thickness are
included. The longer one has to be laced on
the voltage regulator modules and
the shorter
one on the neighbouring (higher) chokes
. Do
not forget to remove the rotective film fro
m
both sides of the ads.
After a lying the thermal ads, lace the
cooler on to . Be careful not to shift or
damage the ads. The
length of the included
screws allows reuse of the original VRM-
back late.
3. Montage des VRM Kühlers
Über rüfen Sie zuerst die Kom atibilität des
Kühlkör ers in dem Sie diesen an die dafür
vorgesehene Stelle halten. Passt der
Kühlkör er liegt keine verdeckte
Revisionsänderung des Mainboards vor und
die Montage kann durchgeführt werden.
Dafür nehmen Sie die beiden länglichen
Wärmeleit ads (1mm) zur Hand. Das längere
der beiden Wärmeleit ads gehört auf die
S annungswandler. Das kürzere Wärmeleit-
ad ist für die S ulen vorgesehen. Es
befinden sich auf den Pads beidseitig
Schutzfolie
n, die vor der Verwendung
entfernt werden müssen.
Setzen Sie jetzt nun den Kühlkör er auf.
Achten Sie darauf die Wärmeleit ads nicht

zu verschieben, bzw. zu beschädigen. Die
Länge der Schrauben (M3x 16mm) ist so
bemessen, das die VRM Back late des
Originalkühlers weiterverwendet werden kann.
Die Schrauben dürfen nur handfest
angezogen werden um die em findlichen
S annungswandler nicht zu beschädigen.
4. Montage des Chipsatz Kühlers
Über rüfen Sie zuerst die Kom atibilität des
Kühlkör ers in dem Sie diese
n an die dafür
vorgesehene Stelle halten. Passt der
Kühlkör er liegt keine verdeckte Revisions-
änderung des Mainboards vor und die
Montage kann durchgeführt werden.
Als erstes muss der Chi satz mit einem
Wärmeleitmittel versehen werden. Dazu
befindet sich
ein quadratisches Wärmeleit ad

4. Mounting the chipset cooler
First, lace the cooler at its intended osition. If
the cooler does not fit, there might have been
undocumented chang

mainboard. If it does fit you can roceed with
the mounting:

(PCH; which sometimes gets erroneous
ly
called “southbridge”).
Do not forget to remove
the rotective film form both sides of the ad.

Stellen Sie als nächstes den Kühlkö er an die
vorgesehene Position und wenden Sie das
Mainboard. Dabei
muss der Kühlkör er mit
der Hand festgehalten werden, damit das
Wärmeleit ad nicht verrutscht oder
beschädigt wird. Zur Befestigung kommen
fünf M3x 12 Schrauben zum Einsatz.

Rückseite gehört je eine der mitgelieferten
M3
Unterlegscheiben.
Die Schrauben dürfen nur handfest
angezogen werden um den em findlichen
Chi satz nicht zu beschädigen.

5. Überprüfung der Montage und
Dichtheitsprüfung
Wir em fehlen vor Inbetriebnahme eine
Sicht rüfung, sowie einen Dichtheitstest
du
rchzuführen. Dieser sollte vorzugsweise
außerhalb des Com uters erfolgen. Ist dies
nicht möglich so sollte die Hardware während
des Tests nicht eingeschaltet werden.
Sind die Über rüfungen erfolgreich verlaufen
kann der Com uter in Betrieb genommen
werden.
Die Tem eraturwerte sollte anfänglich
genau beobachtet werden.
5. Installation and leak test
After the installation, a visual check and test
run are recommended. The leak test should
referably be
erformed outside of the
com uter. If this is not ossible, the hardware
may not be turned on during the test run!
After successful testing,
the com uter can be
ut into o eration. Monitor the tem eratures
closely initially.

6. Allgemeine Hinweise
Beim HEATKILLER® MB-
X gibt es keinen
definierten Ein-
und Ausgang. Das
Kühlmedium kann von beiden Seiten ein-
oder
ausströmen. Beim Verschlauchen der
Kühlkör er ist da
rauf zu achten, dass keine
großen Zug-
und Druckkräfte durch die
Schläuche auf den Kühler übertragen werden.
Es wird em fohlen demineralisiertes bzw.
entionisiertes Wasser (destilliertes Wasser) als
Kühlmedium zu verwenden. Zum Schutz vor
Algen kann handel
sübliche Zitronensäure
verwendet werden, ein Ausbreiten von Algen
wird so wirkungsvoll verhindert.
6. General Information
The HEATKILLER® MB-
X does not have a
defined in ut and out ut. The cooling medium
can stream in or out on both sides. Tubing
should be routed in a way that does not
transmit excessive strain onto the cooler.
We recommend using demineralised or
deionised water (
distilled water) as cooling
medium. To revent the build-
