If the touch screen is FROZEN or BLANK, DO NOT USE THESE INSTRUCTIONS! Use
instructions 8197780 in the SD card kit. If the touch screen(s) are functioning
properly, set instructions 8197780 included with the SD card kit aside. They may be
required later if these instructions don’t work.
Follow these instructions to remove the essential memory
and menus from the old Kingston SD card and reinstall it on
the new Swissbit SD card on the Merco Visual Holding
Cabinets in Chick-fil-A.
1. Remove power from the unit.
2. Remove the four (4) screws that secure the top of the cabinet
(see Figure 1).

3. Lift and remove the top of
the cabinet (see Figure 2).
4. Remove the right side of
the cabinet, as viewed from
the front of the cabinet by
sliding the side up (see
Figure 3) for 2x2, 2x4 and
5x2 units.
5. Disconnect the USB
extension cable on
the back of the U.I.
Touch Screen (see
Figure 4).
6. Turn unit on and
wait for the
products to be
displayed on the
screen (see Figure
5).
7. While the unit is
pre-heating, plug
the USB stick into the
USB socket on the U.I.
(see Figure 6). If this is a
2x4 or 5x4 cabinet, do
this on the primary
screen first. On a
2x4 cabinet, the
primary display is on
the front of the
cabinet, next to the
power switch (see
Figure 7). On a 5x4
cabinet, the left
display is the
primary display (see
Figure 8).
8. When the message is displayed that the files have been
exported, follow the prompts on the display to power off the
unit, unplug the USB drive (see Figure 9).
9. Locate the Micro SD card holder (see Figure 10).

10. The SD card is spring loaded. Remove the SD
card by gently pushing in on the SD card and
releasing until the SD card is ejected (see
Figures 11 and 12). The SD card is a mandatory
return part that must be returned to Shreveport.
DO NOT DISCARD.
11. Insert the new Swissbit SD card with contacts
down towards the board. Gently push the SD
card into the SD card slot until it locks in place
(see Figure 13).
12. Power up the unit.
13. When the message displays the Model and
Serial number screen (see Figure 14),
reinsert the USB stick into the USB port (see
Figure 15).
14. When the message is displayed that the files have
been imported, remove the USB and power cycle
the unit (see Figures
16 and 17).
15. Reconnect the
extension USB cable
(see Figure 18) .
16. Once the screen is
booted up, press the
HOME icon (see
Figure 19).
17. Press the gear icon
(see Figure 20).
18. Press the row of dots
at the bottom of the
page (see Figure 21).
19. Press System Information (see Figure 22).

20. Verify software versions and model, serial and store
number info (see Figure 23).
21. Press the “return” arrow to return to the home
screen (see Figure 24).
22. If more than one UI is present, repeat steps 7-21
on the second UI.
23. Tap the U.I.’s transmission icon (see Figure 25) to
ensure the unit is connected to the wireless
network. A number is briefly shown when the icon
is tapped, which represents the number of units on
the network.
