As t e PEGASUS WING comes wit t e same musical quality as t e ‘great’ WERSI instruments,
you will enjoy playing your instrument rig t from t e start.
Alt oug your PEGASUS WING is particularly easy to use, you s ould at least read t e first few
pages of t is manual to familiarise yourself wit t e basic operational procedures of t e
instrument.

to offer and w ic will enable you to fullfil all your musical wis es:

1. Safety Notes
If possible, read t e complete User Manual (or at least t ese safety notes and t e c apter on
t e initial operation) before powering up your instrument for t e first time.
In the interests of your own safety, you s ould follow t e basic safety measures described
below in order to avoid serious injury or even fatal accidents from electrical s ocks, s ort
circuits, damage, fire or ot er dangers.
T e following are imortant safety measures. However, t ey do not represent a complete list.
Power Supply
•Use only t e power supply unit supplied wit your instrument
•C eck t e power supply, all connections and t e cable at regular intervals for damage or
dirt.
•Never lay t e power supply cable near sources of strong eat suc as electric fires or t e
like, do not overbend, do not lay eavy objects on it and do not lay it in places, w ere
people are likely to tread on it, stumble or fall over it.
•In order to avoid damage, always pull t e cable from t e socket by t e plug and never by
the cable.
•W ere possible, do not connect t e instrument to multiple sockets wit ot er ig power-
using equipment running, e.g. lig ting equipment.
•Remove t e plug from t e socket if t e instrument is not in use for any lengt time or in
t under storms to avoid damage t roug overload, for example.
Position of Instrument – Water/Cleaning Hazards
•Position t e instrument on a firm floor.
•Avoid positioning t e instrument near strong sources of eat or in places subject to great
c anges in temperature or umidity.
•Ensure t at t ere is always clear ventilation to t e rear of t e instrument.
•Never place t e instrument near equipment emitting radiation suc as fluorescent tubes,
television sets, mobile telep ones and suc like in order to avoid irradiation w ic can lead
to interference or a reduction in t e instrument’s sound quality.
•Never put naked flames, suc as candles, or drinks on t e instrument.
If ever electrically conductive objects or liquids get into your instrument,
you should switch off and unplug the instrument immediately.
Do not switc t e instrument back on, until it as been c ecked by a qualified WERSI service
engineer.
Never try to open the instrument or attempt to make any repairs or technical
modifications yourself.
•Never switc on t e instrument if it as just come from an un eated environment (e.g. a
car) into a warm space. Wait until t e instrument as reac ed room temperature before
switc ing on to avoid electrical damage caused by condensation and current leakage.
•W en cleaning your instrument only use a soft, slig tly damp clot and never c emical
cleaning agents or clot s.

2. Legal Notices
Software Copyrig t
Your PEGASUS WING keyboard comes from t e latest generation of instruments in t e WERSI
OAS Series. T e central control of all its functions is provided by a PC running under Microsoft’s
WINDOWS® 7 operation system.
T e instrument is s ipped wit various computer programs w ose copyrig t property is owned
eit er by t e manufacturer or ot er firms.
You receive t ese programs wit t e rig t to run t em on your instrument only. Running t e
programs on ot er computers or ot er instruments, making copies of t ese programs (except
for your own backup purposes), or transferring t e programs to t ird parties is expressly
forbidden and represents an infringement of t e copyrig t regulations and is t erfore a
punis able offense.
T e End User License Agreement for t e WINDOWS® operation-system is part of Microsoft’s
original documentation.
Music Copyrig t
Please respect t e copyrig t rules concerning reproduction of music in public. T is applies to
music t at you play yourself and to music t at you reproduce from an audio CD, MP3 or MIDI
file.
Warrenty and Information about t e Operating System and Hardware
In accordance with the applicable legal regulations, the manufacturer guarantees the
functionality of your instrument in the original hardware and software configuration
as shipped from our factory.
Your hardware is controlled by the system code which applies to all the
components used in your instrument. he system code is the distinctive fingerprint of
your instrument. If components (circuit boards, RAM, processor etc.) are changed, the
system code changes, resulting in activations being lost and the instrument can no
longer be used.
We would like to point out once more t at any claim under your warrenty would be
invalidated if a malfunction arose
•t roug t e installation of additional software programmes, not supplied or expressly
aut orised and released for an application by WERSI and w ic lead to a failure of t e
operating system by, for example, so-called drivers not compatible wit t e WINDOWS®
version in use or not programmed for it.
•t roug t e installation of components not optimised to work wit t e WERSI OAS/
PEGASUS system
•t roug t e installation of replacement or additional components not supplied by WERSI.
You s ould t erefore first contact WERSI before planning to install ‘alien’ software or ardware.
It is also most important for your instrument to work correctly not to make any c anges to
t e ‘Wersi’ folder or any of its sub-folders on t e PC’s ard disk or to t e WINDOWS folder. T is
means you must neit er delete, move nor create new files or folders ere nor store any ot er
files ere (apart from w en installing official software updates).
If intervention in t e WINDOWS file system results in malfunction, only a modified
WERSI/WINDOWS version of a special CD s ould t en be installed!
As in t is case your personal files will be deleted, you s ould always back-up your data at
regular intervals or after saving large amounts of data.

3.2. Connecting
1. Connect t e fixed cable of t e supplied power control unit to t e power input on t e rear
of t e instrument and plug it into a properly installed and fused 240V socket.
Important: use only t e original supplied power control unit.
If you connect t e cable to a switched multi-gang extension lead, do not switc off t e
multi-gang, before t e instrument as completely s ut down.
You do not ave to disconnect from t e mains after playing, alt oug t is is
recommended if t e instrument is not to be used for a lengt y period or during t under
storms to avoid damage from, for example, overloading caused by lig tning.
2. Connect t e instrument via t e audio outputs to a loudspeaker system or sound mixer.
3.3. Switching on and off
T e On/Off touc button switc is situated on t e upper left edge of t e left control panel.
3.3.1. Switching On
Press and release t e On/Off button
t e LED above t e button come on
T e instrument’s normal start-up procedure now begins.
T e WINDOWS® operating system starts first, t en t e WERSI OAS
Music System automatically loads.
T e start-up procedure as finis ed w en t e control panel buttons stop
flas ing and t e Main Display is visible on t e touc screen.
Important: if, for w atever reason, t e instrument does not start up properly, a
different display will appear w en you next try to switc on t e instrument. For furt er
information, see 20.1 Failure in t e Start-up Procedure.

3.3.2. Switching off
Press and release t e On/Off button
A question will appear on t e screen:
Confirm by tapping t e Yes button
T e instrument now automaticcally begins its switc ing off procedure.
If you connect t e cable to a switched multi-gang extension lead, do not switc off t e
multi-gang, before t e instrument as completely s ut down.
If t e On/Off button is pressed by mistake, you can cancel t e switc ing off procedure
by tapping t e No button.
3.3.3. Reset
If your instruments ceases to react because of an operational error, for example, you can start a
reset process by pressing t e On/Off button and holding (for several seconds until t e
switc ing off procedure begins.
Please only use t is met od of switc ing off in an emergency. You s ould not switc off
t e instrument every time by olding down t e On/Off button.

3.4. Connections/Control Units at the Front
3.4.1. Headphones
T e Headp one socket is situated on t e left near t e keyboard.
Standard stereo eadp ones can be connected. Stereo jack: 6,3 mm
Recommended impedance:100 o m approx.
3.4.2. Pitch Bend und Modulation Joystick
T e joystick for pitc bend and modulation is situated near t e keyboard on t e left.
Pus Left/Rig t
Pitc Bend C ange pitc down (left) or up (rig t)
Pus Forwards Modulation Modulates according to t e sound, e.g. by c anging
vibrato, filter or by fading in a new sound
T e joystick always returns to t e central position after being used for eit er function.
T e c anges apply only to sounds from Upper 1 and Upper 2.

3.4.3. USB Connections
[USB = Universal Serial Bus = connectiion from a computer to external equipment]
Below t e rig t control panel are 2 USB connections for your USB
memory stick (for loading/importing and saving/exporting). You can also
connect a USB mouse ere.
You do not ave to eject your USB stick from t e Windows system before removing t e
stick.
3.4.4. DVD/CD Drive with Burner
T e drive for playing audio CDs (and for loading updates from DVD) is situated on t e front
edge of t e rig t control panel. T is is a slot-in drive, w ic automatically pulls in CDs or DVDs.
Pus t e CD/DVD about two t irds into t e drive. T e CD/DVD is t en automatically pulled in.
A CD or DVD already inserted is automatically ejected w en you press t e button below t e
drive.

beginning on page 28.
4.1.1. Control via ouch Buttons
Two button types wit different LED displays are
used on your instrument:
4.1.1.1. ouch Buttons with built-in LED
[LED = Light Emitting Diode]
T e buttons for activating playing areas, t e buttons for t e selection of
otal Presets (complete registrations) and t e buttons for controling the Auto
Accompaniment (Acc Controls) are buttons wit a built-in LED.
LED = on/red = button/function activated
4.1.1.2. ouch Buttons in a Control Panel with built-in LED
All ot er buttons s ow t ere current status by t e LEDs in t e control panel. T ere are:
•Buttons wit 1 LED above t em (e.g. WersiC ord in t e Manual Controls
section)
Possible switc ing states: On / Off
•Buttons wit 2 LEDs above t em (e.g in t e G section)
Possible switc ing states: Change of function
ere for example Fixed <> Free (and back)
•Buttons wit 2 LEDs to t e left
(e.g. all Style and sound selection buttons)
•Possible switc ing states: change of (main) levels
ere for example from Drawbars (Free) Presets (Drawbars)
By tapping t e btton once or several times you can step forwards or back t roug t e levels and
functions.

4.1.2. Control via the ouch Screen
One of t e ig lig ts of your instrument is t e touch-sensitive 10’’ F Colour ouch
Screen.
T e most important settings and information for your music making are displayed ere. Most
displays ave touc -sensitive buttons.
A lig t tap on t e appropriate text field - usually c aracterised by 2 arrows one above t e ot er
- is all t at is needed to activate:
•A particular display (e.g. to c ange t e display from sounds <> accompaniments)
•A drop-down list (e.g. to select t e required WersiC ord mode)
•A particular function (e.g. tempo control on/off t e appropriate lig t is on)
•A particular selection of sounds or accompaniments
Many of t ese controls are linked wit t e corresponding control panel buttons i.e. you can
effect particular c anges bot from t e screen or from t e control panels.
e.g.: Press t e LED for Upper 2 on t e screen
= switc t e Upper 2 Control Panel button Upper 2 on or off and vice versa.

4.2. Loudspeaker Controls
T e instrument offers several loudspeaker setting possibilities w ic enable t e best possible
overall sound.
4.2.1. Overall Volume
T e slider control 2 for t e overall volume is situated on t e left side of t e control
panel.
Set t is slider to t e maximum value w ic is most comfortable for you.
Now set t e currently required volume wit t e swell pedal from a value of ‘0’ to
maximum.
4.2.2. Playing Area and Accompaniment Volumes
T e relative volumes of t e individual playing areas are s own as a green bar in t e display
•Rig t of t e split point (UPPER 1 und UPPER 2)
•Left of t e split point (LOWER 1 und LOWER 2)

4.3. Directing the Accompaniment
T e display gives t e following information about t e
accompaniment:
•Name/Type of Style wit time signature
•Selected Style Variation (Intro 1/2 – Var A-D – End 1/2)
•Bar count and progression; Variation/Intro/Ending
•Metronome = displays t e current beat in t e bar
•Tempo Set (BMP)
•Tempomat display wit lig t
(activated/not activated = green lig t on/off)
4.3.1. Start/Stop
T e accompaniment immediately begins playback, w en t e Start/Stop button is pressed.
T e LED in t e button starts to flas in time:
green = beat 1 red = all ot er beats
At t e same time, t e metronome and bar count begin.
Tapping t e Start/Stop button again, stops t e accompaniment.
4.3.2. Sync.Start
After t e Sync.Start button is pressed, (t e LED in t e button turns red) t e accompaniment
wit t e selected variation begins to play automatically w en t e first key is played on t e lower
manual (or on t e left of t e split point w en t is as been set) or on a foot pedal t e LED
t en goes out.
T e accompaniment can also be stopped by tapping t e Sync.Start button again; t e
Sync.Start function is now immediately reactivated for t e next accompaniment.
4.3.3. Variations
S own in t e display: A / B / C or D
•Eac Style as 4 variations.
T ese are configured differently musically and/or in your instrumentation.
•T e selected variation is indicated by t e flas ing LED in t e button.
Wit some Style tracks t e variations (and t e intros and endings) adapt t emselves to
t e progression of t e original piece.
