STEP SUBJECT SETTING TEST POINT SPECIFICATION NOTE
1-a DC Power
Turn on the XK-5, then check that the pilot
lamp of the XLK-5 turns on.
Go to the detect page of XK-5, and check
the "XLK" as "YES".
([MENU] - [SYSTEM] - [PAGE UP] 2
times).

1-b U1 pin 2,3,6,7 DC +3.3V ±10%
2 Musical Keyboard Play the all notes slowly step by step. Sounding the XK-5 Lower part normality,
and the 3 contact switch correctly.
3 Preset Keys Play the all preset keys slowly step by step. Changing the XK-5 Lower Presets normality.
4 Expression
Connecting EXP unit(EXP-250,XPK-250),
then check that the pilot lamp of the EXP
unit turns on.
Go to the detect page of XK-5, and check
the "XPK" as "YES".
([MENU] - [SYSTEM] - [PAGE UP] 2
times).
Connecting the EXP unit be detected.

3. TEST AND ADJUSTMENT
This unit operates with XK-5 and EXP-250(also XPK-250W, EXP-250W).
Using equipment: Circuit Tester, XK-5 organ, EXP-250(or XPK-250W, EXP-250W), HBU-250L
Connect the XLK-5 to XK-5 with H-BUS cable,
Connect the XPK-250W, EXP-250(or ,EXP-250W) to XLK-5 with H-BUS cable,

CAUTION:First,Disconnect ORGAN from H-BUS.
Remove the 7 screws of A (Machine screw, M4x5, Bind) from the Top cover.

[ REMOVE THE ENDBLOCK(L) ]
Remove the 2 screws of A (S tite, 3x5, Bind) from the ENDBLOCK(L).
[ REMOVE THE BH-73D ASSY ]
Remove the 8 screws of B (Machine screw, M4x5, Bind) from the BH-73D ASSY.
Then, while lifting up the keyboard, remove the 2 cables of C from the
CTH-38B(1/3) PWB assy.

3. REMOVE THE CTH-38B PWB ASSY:

[ REMOVE THE CTH-38B(3/3) PWB ASSY ]
Remove the 2 screw of A (S tite, 3x5, Bind
ZnB), and 4 screw of B (P tite, 3x8, Bind, ZnB)
from the CTH-38B(3/3) PWB assy.
Remove the 2 screw of A (Tapping type2, 3x8,
Bind, ZnB) from the CTH-38B(2/3) PWB assy.
Remove the 4 screw of A (S tite, 3x5, Bind
ZnB) from the CTH-38B(1/3) PWB assy.

10. TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION XLK-5
This unit is composed of CTH-38B, KCH-21A, KCH-22A, KCH-23A.
1. MAIN BOARD : CTH-38B
The CTH-38B operates scanning contact board and the switch of CU-1, merging the
musical messages which is the XLK-5 received from the H-BUS and scanning, and
sending the messages to the H-BUS. These function is operated by Main CPU (U3).
2. CONTACT BOARD : KCH-21A,22A,23A
The contact board is composed of KCH-21A (PRESET KEY), KCH-22A and KCH-23A
(MUSICAL KEY).
The CTH-38B sends the keyscan signal to the KCH-22A through the FFC cable, and the
signal branches to the KCH-21A, KCH-23A.
The one key has the set of three contacts. The keyscan signal returns to the CTH-38B
via the contacts.
By conducting the contacts in turn, the CTH-38B scans the time difference of receiving
the signals, and the CTH-38B sends the musical messages in turn.
