awindoworventthatfeedsintothehouse.

Forproperoperation,burnermustbealignedwiththevalveorificeandseatedin
thebracketslot.Thisisaccomplishedbyfirstplacingtheburnertube'sshutterhole
securelyoverthevalveorifice,andensuringthemalepostontherearoftheburner
restsintheopeninginthegrillchassis.Failuretodosocouldresultinafireand/or
injury.

anyuncertainty regardinglocalcodes.
LPCYLINDERCARE&STORAGE
Beforeeachuse,visuallyinspectthegassupplyhoseforcracks,cuts,orexcessive
wear.Replacethehoseifnecessary.CheckforgasleaksasoutlinedonPage18before
eachuse.
Ensurethegassupplyhosedoesnotcomeincontactwithhotsurfacesorsharpor

BURNERTUBEMUSTBEINSPECTEDANDCLEANEDBEFOREEACHUSE.
Spidersandsmallinsectsoccasionallyspinwebsormakenestsintheburnertubeof
gasgrill.Thesewebscanleadtoagasflowobstruction,whichcouldresultinafirein
andaroundtheburnertube.Thistypeoffireisknownas"flash-back"andcancause
seriousdamagetoyourapplianceandcreateanunsafeoperatingconditionforthe
user.Althoughanobstructedburnertubeisnottheonlycauseof«flash-back,"itisthe
mostcommoncause-makingnecessaryfrequentinspectionandcleaningoftheburner
tube.

CONNECTINGGASCYLINDER
Thepropanegassupplycylindertobeusedmustbeconstructedandmarkedin
accordancewiththeStandardofCanada,CAN/CSA-B339,Cylinders,Spheresand
TubesforTransportationofDangerousGoods;andCommission,asapplicable;and
providedwithalistedoverfillingpreventiondevice.
Useonly20-poundcylinder(height:18.11inches,tankdiameter:9.84inches,foot
diameter:8.03inches)equippedwithacylinderconnectiondevicecompatiblewiththe
connectionforoutdoorcookingappliances.
Thecylindermustincludeacollartoprotectthecylindervalve.Thegascylindershould
notbedroppedorhandledroughly!
Iftheapplianceisnotinuse,thegascylindermustbeturnedo.Storageofan
applianceindoorsispermissibleONLYifthecylinderisdisconnectedandremovedfrom
theappliance.Cylindersmustbestoredoutdoorsoutofthereachofchildrenandcan
notbestoredinabuilding,garageoranyotherenclosedarea.Yourcylindermustnever
bestoredwheretemperaturescanreachover125°F.
Placedustcaponcylindervalveoutletwheneverthecylinderisnotinuse.Onlyinstall
thetypeofdustcaponthecylindervalveoutletthatisprovidedwiththecylindervalve.

Beforeconnection,besurethatthereisnodebriscaughtintheoutletofthegas

Connectregulatorvalveandhand-tightenvalvewhenthegrillisnotinuse.
DONOTobstructthefollowofcombustionairandventilationairtothegrill.The
propanecylindermustbearrangedforvaporwithdrawalandequippedwithalisted
overfillingpreventiondevice.Pleaseusethepropercylinderorientationtoprovide
vaporwithdrawal.NOTE:Thecylindermustbefullyuprightforthecylindertohave
vaporwithdrawalonly.

1. TheknobontheLPtankmustbeclosed.Makesurethattheknobisturned
clockwisetoafullstop.Thecylindersupplysystemmustbearrangedforvapor
withdrawal.
2. Checkthatthecontrolknobonthecontrolunitisturnedo
3. RemovetheprotectivecapfromtheLPtankvalveandcouplingnut.
4. Holdtheregulatorinonehandandinsertthenippleintothevalveoutlet.Besurethe
nippleiscenteredinthevalveoutlet.Thecouplingnutconnectstothelargeoutside
threadsonthevalveoutlet.Usecaredonotcrossthreadtheconnection.
5. Hand-tightenthecouplingnut clockwiseuntilitcomestoafullstop.Firmly
tightenbyhandonly.Donotusetools.ToDisconnect:Fullyclosethetankvalve
byturning clockwise.Turnthecouplingnut counterclockwiseuntilthe
regulatorassemblydetaches.
Warnings
Intheconnectionprocess,makesure:
• Theregulatorinletconnectormateswiththecylindervalveoutletproperly,safely
andfirmly.
• TheLPgashosedoesnotcomeincontactorremainincontactwiththegrillmain
body.

CHECKINGFORLEAKS
Afterallconnectionaremade,checkallconnectionsandfittingsontheLPgastank
valve,gashoseandregulatorforleakswithawaterandsoapsolution.
Topreventfireorexplosionwhiletestingforaleak:
• Alwaysperformleaktestpriortolightingthegrill.
• Donotsmokewhiletestingforaleak.
• Alwaysperformleaktestsoutdoorsinawell-ventilatedarea.
• Donotusethegrilluntilanyandallleaksarecorrected.
• Donotuseanysourceofflamewhiletestingforleaks.
• Ifyouareunabletocorrectaleak,disconnectthepropanesupplyandcallagas
applianceservicedealer.
Leakdetectingagent:
Youcanlocateanyleaksinthegassystemusingaleakdetectionagent.These
areavailableatDIYshopsorfromliquidgassuppliers.Pleasefollowtheoperating
instructionsoftheleakdetectionagent.
PERFORMLEAKTEST
• Prepareleaktestsolutionby50/50ratioofliquiddishsoapandwater.
• Totalsolutionrequiredisapproximately2-3ounces(70-90ml).
• Putleaktestsolutioninaspraybottle.
• EnsurecontrolknobisintheOFFposition.
• Connectthegashosetothegassupply.
• OpentheLPgastankvalve.
• Sprayleaktestsolutiononallgascarryingconnectionsanofappliedtestsolution
indicatesagasleak.Ifleaksaredetectedoryousmellorheargas,shutothegas
supplyvalveimmediatelyandrepairorreplacethedefectivepart.Donotusethe
grilluntilallleaksarecorrected.

• Allpackaginghasbeenremoved.
• Allpartsandcomponentsareproperlyinplace.
• Aninstaller-suppliedmanualgasshutovalveisfullyaccessible.
USINGTHEGASOVEN
Tobegin:
Makesuretheovenhasbeenleaktestedandproperlyplaced.
Removeanyremainingpackingmaterial.
LighttheburnerusingtheLIGHTINGINSTRUCTIONSbelow.
Therearenormaltohavewhitesmokewhentheyareusedforthefirstandsecond
time,astherotatingfunctionpartsareprotectedbyprotectiveoil.
LightingtheAppliance
1. MakesurethecontrolknobisinOFFposition,andthenturntheliquidpropane
cylindervalveONbyslowlyturningcounterclockwise.
2. Pushinandslowlyturnthecontrolknobanticlockwiseuntilyouhearaclickandthe
burnerignites.
3. Ifburnerdoesn'tlight,turntheknobOFF,wait5minutesandrepeatthelighting.
