8kg CONDENSER TUMBLE DRYER

IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ THESE
INSTRUCTIONS THOROUGHLY BEFORE USING
THIS APPLIANCE. KEEP THEM IN A SAFE PLACE
FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.
IMPORTANT USER INFORMATION
–This appliance is intended for NORMAL DOMESTIC
USE ONLY.
–Please note it is not recommended that the dryer is
placed directly next to ovens, cookers or other heating
appliances as the performance of the dryer may be
affected.
–Any electrical work required to install the appliance
should be carried out by a qualified person.
–The tumble dryer is not to be used if industrial chemicals
have been used for cleaning.
–It is important to clean the lint filter after each drying
cycle and the heat exchanger every month or the
restrictions to airflow will extend drying times and could
cause the safety cut-out to trip.
–DO NOT allow lint to accumulate around the tumble
dryer - risk of fire

–Adequate ventilation has to be provided to avoid the
back flow of gases into the room from appliances
burning other fuels, including open fires.
–DO NOT dry unwashed items in the tumble dryer.
–Items that have been soiled with substances such as
cooking oil, acetone, alcohol, petrol, kerosene, spot
removers, turpentine, waxes and wax removers should
be washed in hot water with an extra amount of
detergent before being dried in the tumble dryer.
–Items such as foam rubber (latex foam), shower caps,
waterproof textiles, rubber-backed articles and clothes or
pillows fitted with foam rubber pads should not be dried
in the tumble dryer.
–Fabric softeners, or similar products, should be used as
specified by the fabric softener instructions.
–The final part of a tumble dryer cycle occurs without
heat (cool down cycle) to ensure that the items are left at
a temperature that ensures that the items will not be
damaged.
–Remove all objects from pockets such as lighters and
matches.
–WARNING: Never stop a tumble dryer before the end
of a drying cycle unless all items are quickly removed
and spread out so that heat is dissipated.
–A carpet must not obstruct the ventilation openings in
the base of the dryer.
–Exhaust air must not be discharged into a flue which is
used for exhausting fumes from appliances burning gas
or other fuels.

–The appliance must not be installed behind a lockable
door, a sliding door or a door with a hinge on the
opposite side to that of the tumble dryer, in such a way
that a full opening of the tumble dryer door is restricted.
–Do not stack the tumble dryer on top of other appliances.
–This appliance can be used by children aged from 8
years and above and persons with reduced physical,
sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and
knowledge if they have been given supervision or
instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way
and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not
play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance
shall not be made by children without supervision.
Children of less than 3 years should be kept away from
the appliance unless continuously supervised.
–The rear of the dryer gets quite hot during use. Position
the dryer so that the back is not accessible while in
operation, but ensure that the sides have a space
available to allow airflow.
–Under no circumstances should anything other than the
recommended articles be placed in the tumble dryer.
–The tumble dryer should be serviced by an appointed
service organisation and only genuine parts used.
–It is dangerous to alter or modify the product in any way
other than fitting authorized accessories.
–We recommend that the appliance is unplugged each
time after use. It should always be disconnected from the
electricity supply during long periods of inactivity (i.e.
weekends, holidays etc.)

–The special mains cable and plug assembly must only be
replaced with a genuine part from the manufacturer or
our appointed service agent.
–It is important to clean fluff from the window of the
dryer and around the door seal after each drying cycle.
Failure to do so could result in water leaking.
–DO NOT use a two-way adaptor, or extension lead. The
dryer must be connected to its own socket.
–DO NOT block the air inlets at the front, base or rear of
your dryer.
–DO NOT exceed the recommended maximum load.
–DO NOT place articles in the dryer if anything other
than a water solution has been used in the cleaning
process.
–DO NOT attempt to dry dripping wet articles.
–DO NOT use the tumble dryer if you suspect that it is
damaged in any way. Under no circumstances should
you attempt to repair the appliance yourself. Repairs
carried out by inexperienced persons may cause serious
injury. Consult your local appointed service engineer
and insist on genuine spare parts.
–DO NOT tumble dry woollen or wool mixture articles
unless the article is labelled as being suitable. This
should avoid shrinkage.
–Place delicate articles e.g. tights, scarves, inside a
pillowcase.
–To avoid the need to iron easycare polyester/cotton
items it is better to only dry small loads (i.e. half fill
drum). It is better to dry small and large articles
together.

–DO NOT overload the dryer or dry large bulky items
such as duvets or sleeping bags as it is important that the
airflow through the dryer is not obstructed.
–To avoid uneven drying, it is recommended to remove
large items (e.g. duvet covers) part way through the
drying cycle and redistribute the load.
–Your appliance is fitted with a sensing system that will
periodically adjust the time remaining displayed
dependant on the moisture remaining in the load. Please
note that the drying time quoted by the appliance at the
start of the drying cycle will default to the time taken to
dry the maximum load weight for that particular
programme.
–Should the final dryness of the load for a particular
programme not be to your satisfaction, please select
either a damper or drier setting.
THIS APPLIANCE MUST BE EARTHED
This appliance is marked according to the European Directive 2012/19/EU on
Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE).
At end of life this product should be recycled and not disposed in household
waste. Contact your retailer, council or local authority for further information.

PACKAGING
Caution! Before using the appliance ensure that all items have been removed from inside the
drum.
Polystyrene packing piece
During transit the drum is secured with
adhesive tape and 2 polystyrene packing
pieces.
These must be removed from inside the drum
before the appliance is used.

DRAINAGE OPTIONS
Your new appliance as delivered is setup such that the condensed water generated during
drying is pumped into the water bottle. The bottle will then require emptying at the end of every
drying cycle.
Alternatively, the appliance can be converted to allow the condensed water to be pumped to
your household waste pipe. Connecting your dryer to a household waste pipe will mean you
will not need to empty the water bottle:
1 - Remove the blue integral drain hose from the connector, at the left rear of the dryer. A pair
of long nosed pliers may be required to remove the hose.
2 - Attach the condensing drain hose.
3 - Locate the drain hose into a wash basin, sink or waste pipe.
4 - To return the dryer to pump the condensed water into the water bottle, simply remove the
condensing drain hose and re-attach the integral drain hose as per points 1 and 2 above.

DRYER INSTALLATION
Position the tumble dryer so that the plug remains accessible after installation. Do not block the
vents at the front, rear or base of the dryer, as this will impair the working of the machine. This
appliance must not be installed behind a lockable door, a sliding door or a door with hinges on
the opposite side to that of the tumble dryer.
The tumble dryer requires a minimum width of 600mm in order to be installed. If a waste pipe
and trap are behind the appliance, they must not obstruct the air inlet at the back of the dryer.
If the waste pipe is used by the dryer and a washing machine then its diameter must be large
enough to contain both hoses - 1.5" bore (38mm) minimum.
If the floor is uneven the machine will need to be levelled by adjusting the feet of the machine.
These can be twisted to raise and lower the appliance.
CAUTION: Check that the heat exchanger is installed and locked in place.
FILTER INSTALLATION
LOAD PREPARATION
Check care labels inside the garments to ensure that they are suitable for the appliance:
NEVER SWITCH THE DRYER OFF AND LEAVE A HOT LOAD IN THE DRUM DUE
TO THE RISK OF FIRE.
The dryer has 2 fluff filters, one in the door and one
in the door opening.
Push the filters into their operating positions as
shown in the diagram. The filter in the door will
only fit one way. Remove any dust by wiping the
drum and door with a damp cloth. Any initial smell
of burning will be caused by dust on the heater and
will quickly disappear.

CLEANING THE FILTER
ALWAYS CLEAN THE FILTERS AFTER EACH USE. Failure to do so could cause the
safety cut-out to operate.
EMPTYING THE WATER BOTTLE
To clean the filter located in the door, slide the filter
upwards and away from the appliance.
Remove any threads or fluff from the filter by hand
or with a soft brush.
Remove any fluff inside the filter housing.
Ensure that the filter is the right way round and slide
back into the door.
–Pull the bottle out from the dryer and empty at the end of
the drying cycle.
–WARNING: Ensure that the bottle is kept level and the
rear supported as it is removed from the dryer in order to
prevent water leaking from the water in-feed hole at the
rear of the bottle.
–Replace the bottle ensuring that it is pushed all the way
in.
–If the dryer is connected to a drain there is no need to
empty the bottle but it must be correctly fitted to the
machine.
–WARNING: Empty the water container after each use.
The drying cycle will pause and the icon light if the
bottle is full during the drying process. After the bottle
has been emptied, the dryer can be restarted by pressing
the Start/Pause button.
–WARNING: Do not drink the condensed water
To remove the filter in the door opening, lift out the filter using the slots at either end.
Remove any threads or fluff from the filter by hand or with a soft brush.
Refit the cleaned filter into the door opening.
Wash the filters occasionally in detergent solution using a soft brush to remove small particles.
Ensure that the filter is fully dry before next use.
If your filter becomes damaged, replace it to ensure no damage is caused to the dryer

CLEANING THE HEAT EXCHANGER
IMPORTANT:
- Ensure all lint and fluff is removed from around the seals before closing or water may leak.
- The dryer may leak if the Heat Exchanger is not correctly re-installed and locked in place.
The Heat Exchanger and ducting should be
cleaned monthly or more frequently if the
dryer is in constant use.
CAUTION: For maximum efficiency, the
plates are made from very thin aluminium
and are easily damaged. At all times, handle
the Heat Exchanger carefully and avoid
crushing the plates. Do not try to poke
anything between the plates or use a hard
object or tool for cleaning.
REMOVING THE HEAT EXCHANGER
-Open the Heat Exchanger Cover by
pressing and releasing the catch at the
right hand side.
-Turn the locking levers in the
direction indicated.
-Carefully slide out the Heat
Exchanger.
-Clean the Heat Exchanger thoroughly
by using a shower nozzle or running
tap to remove any lint from inside the
tubes. Leave to drain.
-Clean the seals.
-Carefully push the Heat Exchanger
back into the dryer, ensuring the
handle is at the top.
-Lock the Heat Exchanger back in
place by twisting the locking levers.
-Close the Heat Exchanger Cover until
it latches into position.
Whilst the Heat Exchanger is removed,
clean as much fluff as possible from inside
the ducting by reaching into the dryer.
NOTE: The Heat Exchanger will discolour
through use.

APPLIANCE FEATURES AND PROGRAMME OPTIONS
Programme selection - Rotate the Programme Selector Knob from the ‘Off’position to the
required programme. Additional features of Buzzer, Quick (only available on the Denim,
Extra Cupboard Dry & Cupboard Dry programmes), Low Heat (available on all Cotton,
Synthetics and Time programmes) and Delay Start can also be selected. Once you have set the
required drying cycle, press the Start/Pause button to begin the drying cycle.
End of drying cycle -All drying programmes end with a 10 minute cooling phase. When the
load is ready to be removed the ‘End’Indicator will flash, the display will show ‘0:00’and the
buzzer will sound. Unload the laundry from the appliance and turn the Programme Selector to
the ‘Off’position. Switch off the power and unplug the power cable.
Anticrease - If the laundry is not removed at the end of the drying cycle then the dryer
automatically enters an anticrease phase in order to prevent creasing (30 minutes maximum).
If the door is opened during the anticrease phase and when the anticrease phase has finished,
the display will show ‘End’. Remove the laundry, turn the Programme Selector to the ’Off’
position and switch off the power.
Moisture Sensor - this function automatically senses the moisture of the clothes and will
automatically adjust the drying time according to the weight of clothes put in the dryer. This
function will automatically activate during the drying procedure on all Cotton and Synthetics
Programmes and the Underwear programme.
Time programmes - A drying time of 30, 60 or 90 minutes can be selected.
Buzzer –The default setting is for the buzzer function to be off. Press the Buzzer button to
select the buzzer function and the Buzzer Indicator will illuminate. The buzzer will now sound
when a button is pressed. The buzzer will automatically sound if the door is opened, if the heat
exchanger is removed, if the water bottle is full or when the cooling phase of the programme
is complete.
Quick - The Quick option can be selected with the Denim, Extra Cupboard Dry and Cupboard
Dry Cotton programmes. The indicated drying time will be reduced by 10 minutes. The Quick
Indicator will illuminate.
The Quick option cannot be used in conjunction with the Low Heat option.
Low Heat - Low Heat can be selected on all Cotton, Synthetics or Time programmes. The
Low Heat Indicator will illuminate and the drying cycle will operate at a lower temperature.
The indicated drying time will be increased. Low Heat cannot be used in conjunction with the
Quick option.
Delay Start - all programmes can be used in conjunction with the Delay Start feature. This
function is used to delay the start of the drying cycle up to a maximum of 24 hours. Pressing
the “Delay Start”button once increases the delay time by one hour. Pressing and holding the
“Delay Start”button will scroll the display.

Once you have selected the delay time that you require, press the Start/Pause button and ‘:’
will flash on the display. The remaining delay time is shown in hours. When the delay period
is complete, the drying cycle selected will automatically start. To cancel delay, turn the
Programme Selector to the ‘Off’position.
Child Lock - this machine incorporates a child safety lock, which can prevent children from
activating the appliance’s functions. Whilst the dryer is operating, press and hold the Low
Heat and Delay Start buttons at the same time for 5 seconds to activate the child lock function.
When the child lock function is activated, the Child Lock Indicator will light and pressing any
button (except the Buzzer button) will not affect the dryer function. The drying programme
cannot be changed, but turning the Programme Selector to the ‘Off’position will stop the
dryer. To release the child lock function, press and hold the Low Heat and Delay Start buttons
at the same time for 5 seconds.
During a drying cycle the Child Lock function will be cancelled if the dryer door is opened,
the heat exchanger is removed or the water bottle is full.

CONTROLS
Buzzer Button - Press to select the buzzer function.
Quick Button –Press to select the quick dry option.
Low Heat Button –Press to select low heat. This is suitable for drying delicate items.
Delay Start Button –This is used to select a delay time as detailed above for between 1 and 24
hours.
Child Lock Indicator –The indicator lights when the child lock feature has been activated by
pressing and holding the Low Heat and Delay Start buttons simultaneously for 5 seconds.
Status Indicators - (3 LED indicators labelled Drying, Cooling and End) –these flash to
indicate the status of the drying cycle. As the load dries, the indicators will step through
indicating the progress through the drying cycle. The End light will flash when the cooling
phase has finished and dryer is in the anticrease phase. The load is ready to be removed from
the dryer.
Start/Pause Button –Press this button to start the drying cycle, after the programme and
optional functions have been selected. If the dryer is waiting for the Start/Pause button to be
pressed then the indicator will flash.
If the dryer door is opened during the drying cycle, the indicator will start to flash and the
Start/Pause must be pressed again to continue the drying cycle.
Bottle Full Indicator –The bottle full indicator will come on at the end of each drying cycle to
remind you to empty the bottle. If the bottle becomes full during a drying cycle, the bottle full
indicator will flash, the buzzer will sound and the drying cycle will pause. To continue the
drying cycle, the water bottle must be emptied and the Start/Pause button pressed.
Filter Indicator –The filter indicator comes on at the end of each drying cycle to remind you
to clean the filters. The filters must be kept clean to ensure that the dryer operates safely and
efficiently.
Programme Selector –Rotate to select the required programme. To switch the dryer off or
cancel a drying program, turn the selector to the ‘Off’position.
PLEASE NOTE: The symbol adjacent to the “Cupboard Dry”programme indicates
that this programme is the “Standard Cotton Programme”used at full and partial loads and is
the standard drying programme to which the information on the label and the product fiche
relate. This programme is suitable for drying normal wet cotton laundry and is the most
efficient programme in terms of energy consumption for cotton.

OPERATION
A full load will typically take 150 minutes and will use approximately 4.76kWh of electricity.
A half load will typically take 90 minutes and will use approximately 2.55kWh of electricity.
The power consumption of the off-mode is 0.0W and the left-on mode is 0.36W.
1. Open the door.
2. Load clothes loosely into the drum. Load sheets first, starting with one corner.
3. Close the door.
4. Dry your hands.
5. Turn the programme selector knob to the desired drying programme.
6. Select any other features that you require (e.g. Low Heat or Delay Start)
7. After the Start/Pause button is pressed, the dryer will start the drying cycle. If delay start
was selected, the drying cycle will be automatically performed when the delay time is
over.
8. If you want to cancel the delay time selected, turn the programme selector to the ‘Off’
position.
9. If you push the Start/Pause button during the drying cycle, the dryer will stop.

The display will show ‘ErS’if a function button
has been pressed that is incompatible with the
selected programme. The error code will also be
displayed if the programme selector is turned
during a drying cycle.

CUSTOMER ADVICE –BEFORE CALLING FOR ASSISTANCE
If the clothes are not dry after the normal drying time:
–Check that you used the correct heat setting and/or programme.
–Check that the lint filters have been cleaned. A blocked filter will restrict the airflow.
–Check that the Heat Exchanger is clean and locked in place correctly.
–Check that your dryer is heating - below the door to the right side, should feel warm to
the touch after the first 10-15 minutes of its programme
–Check that the machine has the correct weight load in the drum before starting the
appliance.
If your machine does not work correctly check the following before calling a Service Engineer:
–Check that there is a supply of electricity.
–Check the fuse in the plug.
–Check that when the Programme Selector is turned from the ‘Off’position that the
Display is illuminated.
–Check that the door has been properly closed and that the dryer is not in delay or pause
mode.
–Check that the Child Safety Lock has not been enabled.
If problems continue after checking the above points you should contact our Service Agent.
Please ensure that you have the model number (B96G8W) and your serial number to hand when
you make the call. To locate the serial number on your dryer, open the door and look for a
white label inside the door opening with a 10 digit number on it.
Please be aware that a call out charge will be applied for a service visit if the call could
have been avoided by following these instructions.
