Theinternalbatterycompartmentaccepts4“C”cellbatteries.Besuretouse
highqualitybrandnamealkalinebatteries.Installbatterieswithcorrect
polarity(+/‐)asnotedinsidethebatterycompartment.
12VLeadAcidExternalBattery
Thecameraisequippedwithanexternalpowerjackdesignedtoaccepta
barrelplugcablethatattachestoasealedleadacidbattery.(Soldseparately).
Thiswillenhancethecamera’sfieldlife.Batterycableandcomplete12V

1. MakesurecameraisintheOFFposition.
2. InserttheexternalbatterybarrelplugintotheDC12Vjackonthebottom
ofcamerahousing.
WARNING: Do not use different Voltage lead acid battery other than the
one specified in this section. Doing so will damage the camera and will
void the warranty.
WARNING: ALWAYS have the camera in the OFF position when installing
or removing batteries and memory card. Removing batteries or memory
card while the camera is ON may damage the camera.

3. TurnthecameratotheONposition.
4. Thecamerawillautomaticallyswitchtoexternalpowerwhenitis
connected,eveniftheinternalbatteriesareinstalled.
NOTE:Pleasemakesurethevoltageandpolarity(+/‐)arecorrectbefore
connection.Incorrectvoltageorpolarity(+/‐)willdamagethecamera.
Whenbothinternalandexternalbatteriesareconnected,thecamerawill
drawpowerfromthehighervoltagesourcefirst.
MemoryOptions
Thecameraisalsoequippedwithanexpandablemediacardslotcapableof
acceptingupto16GB*SDcardwithClass6orbelowspeedrating(sold
separately).Withnomemorycardinsertedintotheslot,thecamerawilluse
thebuiltinSDRAMmemorytostoreimages.IfanSDcardisinsertedintothe
slot,thenthecamerawillbypassthebuiltinmemoryandutilizetheSD
memory.Thefrontcounterdisplaywillshowthenumberofimagesinthe
builtinmemory,unlesstheexpansioncardisinsertedatwhichpointthefront
counterwillonlydisplaythenumberofimagesstoredintheexpansioncard.

InsertingSDmemorycard
NOTE:MakesurecameraisintheOFFpositionwheneveraddingor
removingmemory.
•InsertSDmemorycardintotheSDcardslotcompletelyandinthe
correctdirection,asshownbythepictureshownontheOpenView
imageabove(seepage5).
•ToremovetheSDmemorycard,depresstheSDcardandpulloutthe
cardgently.
•SDcardsmustbeclean(noimagesfromothersources).Ifyouareusing
theSDcardfromothercameras,pleasemakesuretoformattheSDcard
inyourcomputerpriortouseinthecamera.Newcardsaregoodtouse
straightfromthepackage.
•IfinstalledSDcardislocked,camerawillshowLOConthedisplay,please
slidethelockswitchtounlocklocationthenreinstalltheSDcard.
FORMAT–Definition:WhenyouformataSDmemorycard,theoperating
systemerasesallinformationandfilesonthecard.Thenitcreatesaninternal
addresstablesthatitlaterusestolocateinformationandfiles.Formatting
alsoremovesallHiddenSystemfilesaswell.BasicallyitcleansyourSD
memorycardjustlikeifitwasbrandnew.Pleasemakesuretofollowthe
guidelineslistedbelow:
SDCardsize:2GBorbelow,formatusingFileSystemtype“FAT”.
SDCardsize:4GBorabove,formatusingFileSystemtype“FAT32”.

3. SelectthecapturemodebyslidingtheBURSTtoggleswitchtothe
desiredamountofpicturesorvideoyouwanttocapturepertriggering.
4. TurnONtheCamerabyslidingtheCAMtoggleswitchtoON.
5. SettingtheDate/Timestamp:

Onceallprogramsettingshavebeensetupproperly,yourWildviewcamerais
readyforfielduse.
Gettingstarted
Listedbelowaresomehelpfulpointersonhowtouseyourcameratogetthe
bestresults.
•Mountthecameraabout4‐5feethighwiththecamerapointedataslight
downwardangle.
•MountthecamerafacingnorthorsouthNOTeastorwestduetothe
risingandsettingofthesuncouldproducefalsetriggersandoverexposed
images.
•Ifyou’recoveringatrail,facethecameradownorupthetrail.Mostgame
scoutingcamerastake1‐3secondstosensemotion/heatandtakea
picture.
•Clearoutanybrushorweedsinfrontofcamera.Thiswillcausefalse
picturescausedwindorhightemperaturedays.
•Doublecheckbatteriesbeforeturningonthecameraforuse.
•Makesuretoinsertthememorycardaftersettingupthegamecamera.
•MakesuretoturnthecameratotheONposition(ortakeoutofTe st
Mode)beforeyouleave.

1. Insertthestrapthroughthestrapslotsontherearhousing.
2. Wrapthestraparoundthemountingsurface.Securethestrapand
tightenthebuckleinordertosecurethecamera.
NOTE:Inordertoobtainproperweatherresistance,pleasemakesurethat
bothdoorlatchesaresecurelylockedinplace.

Testingthecameracoveragearea:
OneofWildviewScoutingCamera’sfeaturesistheabilitytotestthecoverage
area.
1. Aftermountingthecamera,openfronthousingandslidetheCAMtoggle
switchtoTESTposition.ThefrontLCDwilldisplaytheword“tESt”.
2. Closethefronthousing.
3. Walkaroundtothefrontofthecameratoseeifyouhavemountedthe
cameraintheproperposition.ThegreenTESTlightindicatoronthefront
willblinkwhenyouhaveintrudedthecoveragearea.
4. Adjustthecamerapositionasneededandrepeattestinguntilthedesired
coverageareaisachieved.
5. Whenyouhavecompletedtestingthecoveragearea,openthefront
housingandslidetheCAMtoggleswitchfromTESTpositiontotheON
position.
¾Caution:DonotmovetheswitchfromTESTdirectlytoON.Doingso
willcausethecameranottooperate.SlidetheswitchtoOFF.Wait
forthefrontLCDscreentoturnoff,thencontinuetoslidetheswitch
toON.
6. ThefrontLCDcounterwillshow“0000”andthegreenindicatorlightwill
startblinking.Thecamerawillentercountdownmodefor1minute,
givingyouoneminutetoleavethecoveragearea.Thencamerawillbe
armedandenterthePIRdetectionmode.
NOTE:MakesureyouslidethepowerswitchfromTESTmodetoONmode
beforeyouleavethefield,otherwisetheCamerawillnottakeanypictures.

ThiscameraisnotMACcompatible.
Viewingfilesfromyourcomputerdownload:
1. FIRST,slidetheCAMtoggleswitchtotheOFFposition.
2. PlugthelargerendoftheUSBcableintoanavailableUSBportonyour
computerandplugthesmallerendofUSBcableintothecamera.
3. Thecamerawillautomaticallypoweritselfon.FrontLCDscreenwillshow
“USb.”
4. Atthesametime,yourcomputerwillrecognizethecameraasa
RemovableStoragedevice,andyoucanfinditunderMYCOMPUTER.

¾ToeraseallfilesandreformatyouSDmemorycard:Rightclickon
theRemovableStoragedeviceunderMyComputerandselect
FORMATthenclickSTART.YouwillreceiveaWarningmessagepress
[OK].ThenCLOSEtoexit.
NOTE:MakesurebeforeyouFORMATyouarecertainitistheRemovable
Storagedeviceforthecamera.
6. Onceyou’redone,simplyunplugthecablefrombothyourcomputerand
thecamera.ThecamerawillturnOFFautomatically.

Yourcameraprovidesyouwithafewoptionsfordeletingfilesstoredonthe
internalorexternalmemorywhileinthefield.

Simplyremovethebatteriesfromthebatterycompartment.Ifyouareusing
anSDmemorycardasyourstoragedevice,youmustdeleteimagesby
followingthestepdescribedabove.
LowBatteryIndicator:
Yourcameraisequippedwithalowbatteryindicator.TheRedLowBatLED
indicatorwillblinkwhenbatteryisrunninglow.
1. Turnoffthecamera.
2. Downloadallthepicturesimmediately.
NOTE:DONOTattempttoreplacethebatteriesbeforeyouhavesavedthe
imagesinyourPC.Oncethebatteriesaredrainedcompletely,orifyou
attempttoreplacethebatteries,allimagesintheinternalSDRAMmemory
willbelost.
3. Replacebatteries.Besuretousebrandnamealkalinebatteries.
WARNING: Do not remove the batteries until you have downloaded all the
images off the internal SDRAM. Once the batteries are removed, all files in
the internal SDRAM will be deleted. (This does not apply to files stored on
