Dear customer,
this additional piece of electronics switches off your hörbert after a selectable time. In addition, it offers
adjustable protection for your batteries. With some manual skill you can carry out the conversion yourself. To
do this, please follow the steps listed here carefully and make sure not to damage any surrounding parts of
your hörbert.
Your work surface should be soft enough not to scratch hörbert; and thick enough so that you do not damage
your table during the conversion. Please provide sufficient light to facilitate your work.

The conversion consists of 2 parts:
1. removal of the existing on/off switch
2. installation of the automatic switch-off module instead of the previous switch
You’ll need the following tools:
1x coin
1x cord
1x nut or wrench SW14
1x tweezers, preferably with bent tip
1x scratch protection (supplied)
1x conversion electronics (supplied)
Removal of the existing on/off switch:
1. Open the sliding cover and put it aside. To loosen the screw, you can use a coin
Turn the coin counterclockwise to open the screw.

2. Remove all batteries so that you do not accidentally damage your hörbert by a short circuit (through a tool or
jewellery). Use the thread that you carry out under a battery to pull it out. Repeat this for each battery individually.
3. Insert the cardboard disc over the existing nut of the switch. It serves as scratch protection when unscrewing the
nut. Then turn out the nut counterclockwise with your tool.

4. The switch can now be pulled out inwards. Turning it 90 degrees makes it easier to get past hörbert's electronics.
5. Pull the red cable of the switch out of the audio electronics. It offers some resistance until the plug
clicks out. Do not tear upwards or downwards, but pull the plug straight out of the socket on the
computer board.

6. Now unplug the blue and white cable of the built-in volume control from hörbert’s electronics in the same way.
Leave the volume control screwed into the cabinet.
Installation of automatic switch-off
The additional electronics for automatic shutdown are plugged in instead of the cables you just unplugged. The loose cable
of the volume control is then plugged into the additional electronics.
7. Plug the blue and white cable of the automatic shutdown electronics into the same socket as the blue and white
cable of the volume control unit. This can be achieved with a bent tweezer, because the socket on the additional
electronics is visible from above without removing hörbert's electronics.

8. Insert the red-and-white cable of the automatic shutdown module into the socket where the on/off switch was
previously inserted. It is also visible from above and can be easily hit with tweezers.
9. Finally, plug the remaining blue and white cable of the volume control into the free socket of the additional
electronics. This completes the new cabling.

10. In the next step, guide the switch of the additional electronics back through the opening in the housing. The small
white switches (the "mouse piano") point upwards, so that you can use it later comfortably.
11. Using the scratch protection, tighten the nut of the switch again by hand. Do not use too much force to avoid
tearing out the thread.

12. The installation of the additional electronics is thus completed. Now set the desired playing time at the "mouse
piano" (see playing time table in the operating instructions). Now you can reclose the batteries audibly after
installing them.
