1 General
1.00 Introduction
In this section you, as the operator, will find important instructions on the
operation of the road paver and the use of these operating instructions.
1.00.01 Foreword
This VÖGELE machine is a product from the wide range of VÖGELE road
construction machinery.
The extensive experience of VÖGELE as well as the latest production and
test methods guarantee the very high reliability of your machine. The op-
erating instructions belong with the machine!
These operating instructions are only valid in conjunction with the
safety manual. Please note:
These operating instructions were written for the operator and the mainte-
nance engineer on the construction site.
These operating instructions are intended to place these people in the po-
sition to be able to operate the machine safely and to use its features to
the full.
They also provide instructions on the function of important attachments
and systems.
Specific terms are used in these operating instructions. To avoid misun-
derstandings, you should always use the same terms.
Only qualified, instructed and trained personnel are allowed to work on
this machine.
The operating instructions, the safety manual and the stipulations and re-
gulations applicable in the place of use must be observed (e.g. accident
prevention regulations).
The use of these operating instructions will make it easier for you:
• To familiarise yourself with the machine.
• To avoid malfunctions due to incorrect operation.
Observing the operating instructions:
• Will help to prevent hazards.
• Will increase reliability in use on the construction site.
• And - if driving on public roads is allowed - will increase the service life
of the machine (only wheeled pavers).
• Will reduce maintenance costs and downtimes.
Always keep these operating instructions at hand, e.g. in the machine's
toolbox or in the holder provided.

Should you receive further information on the machine from us, these in-
structions are also to be observed and attached to the operating instruc-
tions (e.g. additional technical information).
If you do not understand the operating instructions or specific sections,
you should ask us before you start the related activity.
Joseph Vögele AG is not liable for the safe function of the machine:
• On use other than normal use.
You cannot make any claims under the warranty in case of:
• Operating errors.
• Incorrect maintenance.

NOTE There are separate operating instructions for the tractor and screed. A
functional machine (in the context of the machinery directive) is only
produced on the permissible combination of road paver and screed.
The respective operating instructions are always related and both sets of
operating instructions are always to be observed together with the safety
manual.

About these instructions Before you start using the road paver, you must have read and under-
stood these instructions.
These instructions are intended to familiarise you with basic
tasks/activities on the road paver.
These instructions contain important instructions on the safe and correct
use of the road paver.
Observing the instructions will help:
• To prevent hazards.
• To reduce repair costs and downtimes.
• To increase the reliability and service life of the road paver.
Irrespective of these instructions, the laws, regulations, directives and
standards applicable in the country and place of use must be observed.
The usage of the road paver is described in these instructions.
A copy of these instructions must be available to the operator at all
times.
These operating instructions are only valid in conjunction with safety ma-
nual 2600980260 or 2600980270.
A copy of this safety manual must be available to the operator at all
times.
1.00.02 Changes / rights reserved
We make every effort to ensure these operating instructions are correct
and up to date. To maintain our technological lead, it may be necessary to
make changes to the product and its operation without prior notice. The
product and its operation may then differ from these operating instruc-
tions. We accept no liability for malfunctions, failures and any resulting
damage.
Therefore you must also observe any additional information supplied!
1.00.03 Packaging and storage
To ensure adequate protection during shipment, the accessories have
been carefully packed.
On receipt of the goods, the packaging and the goods should be checked
for damage.
In the case of damage, the machines are not allowed to be placed in op-
eration! Damaged cables and connectors are also a safety risk and must
not be used under any circumstances!!!
In this case please contact your VÖGELE supplier.

1.01.02 Safety marker
The safety marker provides a visible indication of a source of a hazard.
The safety markers in all the technical documentation comply with the
harmonised standard EN 61310 part 2: Safety of machinery. Indication,
marking and actuation. Requirements for marking and EU directive
92/58/EEC - minimum requirements for the provision of safety and/or
health signs at work.

This warning marker is used before activities during which risks could
arise for several reasons.

This warning marker is used before activities during which there are
risks of an electric shock, possibly with fatal consequences.
