1. Landing Gear Overview

2. Attach landing gear to UAS body
a. Insert each landing gear into the landing gear bracket on the bottom of the UAS
b. Make sure that antenna mounts are facing outward of the UAS away from payload area.
c. Make sure that both of the landing gear feet are parallel to each other, and the UAS sits
flat on the ground.
d. Tighten each screw on each of the landing gear mounts until screws have been fully
tighten.
e. Attach antennas to Velcro on the antenna mount and make sure Velcro is fastened and
antennas are mounted securely.

3. Attach the propellers to the motors
a. The propellers come in pairs one counter-clockwise (ccw) propeller and another
clockwise (cw) propeller. The cw propeller has a L marked on the propeller and the ccw
propeller has a R marked on it so you can easily tell the difference in the cw and ccw
propellers. Ranger Propellers are 18.5” with a pitch of 6.3

b. Attach the cw propellers to the front left and back right motors with the KDE logo on the
propeller facing upward towards the sky. Screw in propellers using the 2.5mm driver
given with each drone sold. Make sure propellers are mounted tight to the motor and
have no play.
c. Attach the ccw propellers to the front right and back left motors with the KDE logo on
the propeller facing upward towards the sky. Screw in propellers using the 2.5mm driver
given with each drone sold. Make sure propellers are mounted tight to the motor and
have no play.

4. Inserting Battery into UAS
a. Ranger Series Batteries are 22.8V LiPo HV, 6S, 17000mAh or 17Ah –
i. When inserting the Ranger Series Battery, make sure the silver side is up when
inserting.
ii. Run the strap between the red and black wires and around the standoff then
attach the Velcro strap tightly to prevent the battery from potentially sliding
out.
Insert battery with silver side up with
the XT90 plug wires on the right side.

1. Gimbal Platform Overview –
NOTE: The cables plugged into the 10PIN AUX and SERIAL ports on the gimbal quick attach
and the AUX Cable and Power Cable coming off the gimbal platform should never be
unplugged.

2. Attaching gimbal platform
a. Large gimbal platform (for Sony a6000, a7, a9, a7r, etc.)
i. Attach - Slide the dove tail mounting rail on the gimbal platform into the dove
tail quick mount adapter on the UAS with the arrow on the gimbal quick attach
facing the front of the aircraft.
ii. Tighten - Once the rail is slide into place then press the dove tail knob against
the dove tail mount until the gimbal mount is secured into place.
Locate the arrow on the gimbal
quick attach to find the front of
the quick attach.
With the arrow pointing to the
front of the UAS slide the gimbal
platform rail into dove tail mount.
Slide gimbal platform into place
until you hear the dove tail
mount click into place.
Press the dove tail on the dove
tail mount towards the mount to
securely lock the gimbal platform
into place.

b. Large gimbal wiring harness on gimbal platform- cables connected from the gimbal
platform to the UAS consist of SBUS, AUX (PWM, SERIAL, SBUS), MicroHDMI, and 24V
Power. The gimbal platform comes with the AUX Cable and Power Cable Pre-Installed on
the gimbal platform and only needs to be plugged into the UAS. Below are full
instructions:
i. Connect SBUS cable into the gimbal quick attach SBUS port (Black is -, Red is +,
White is ~) on the gimbal platform and to the connect the SBUS port on the
right side of the UAS.
ii. Connect MicroHDMI cable to the gimbal quick attach and to the UAS’s
MicroHDMI port on the front of the UAS.
Connect the 3 pin SERVO side of the SBUS cable to the gimbal quick attach
and the 3 pin JST connector on the SBUS cable to the UAS’s 3 pin JST port.
Connect the micro HDMI cable from the micro HDMI port on the gimbal
quick attach on the gimbal platform to the micro HDMI port on the UAS.

iii. Plug in the AUX cable from the gimbal platform to the AUX port on the right side
of the UAS. The AUX cable plugs into the serial port on coms extension box and
auxiliary port on gimbal platform extension board.
iv. Plug in the power cable coming from the gimbal platform to the 24V power port
located on the front of the UAS.
Connect the male XT60 connector on the power cable to the
female XT60 connector on the UAS.
Plug in the AUX cable JST 10 Pin Plug into the JST 10 Pin AUX Port on
the UAS.

c. Small gimbal platform (for Sony RX100 vii, FLIR Vue Pro, FLIR Vue Pro R, etc.)
i. Attach - Slide the dove tail mounting rail on the gimbal platform into the dove
tail quick mount adapter on the UAS with the arrow on the gimbal quick attach
facing the front of the aircraft
ii. Tighten - Once the rail is slide into place then press the dove tail knob against
the dove tail mount until the gimbal mount is secured into place.

Connect the 3 pin SERVO side of the SBUS cable to the gimbal quick attach
and the 3 pin JST connector on the SBUS cable to the UAS’s 3 pin JST port.
Connect the micro HDMI cable from the micro HDMI port on the gimbal
quick attach on the gimbal platform to the micro HDMI port on the UAS.

iii. Plug in the AUX cable from the gimbal platform to the AUX port on the right side
of the UAS. The AUX cable plugs into the serial port on coms extension box and
auxiliary port on gimbal platform extension board.
iv. Plug in the power cable coming from the gimbal platform to the 24V power port
located on the front of the UAS.
Connect the male XT60 connector on the power cable to the female
XT60 connector on the UAS.
Plug in the AUX cable JST 10 Pin Plug into the JST 10 Pin AUX Port on
the UAS.

2. Attaching camera gimbal payload onto gimbal platform
a. Large gimbals (Sony a6000, a7, a9, a7r, etc. and another large camera payload)
i. Slide the gimbal quick attach locking mechanism into the unlocked position by
rotating it counterclockwise.
ii. Insert gimbal into the gimbal quick attach with the silver line on the gimbal
matching the silver line on the gimbal quick attach then slide the locking
mechanism on the gimbal quick attach into the locked position by rotating it
clockwise until you hear the locking mechanism click.

b. Small gimbal (Sony RX100 vii, FLIR Vue Pro, etc. and other small camera payloads)
i. Slide the gimbal quick attach locking mechanism into the unlocked position by
rotating it counterclockwise.
ii. Insert gimbal into the gimbal quick attach with the silver dot on the gimbal
matching the silver line on the gimbal quick attach then slide the locking
mechanism on the gimbal quick attach into the locked position by rotating it
clockwise until you hear the locking mechanism click.
