Troubleshooting
Problem Solution
Water keeps spilling
out of the water tray.
The filter may not be fully soaked. Please soak the
filter in a clean bowl (not in the water tank) for 5
minutes before the first use.
How often should I
change the filters?
Where to get them?
It’s recommended to replace the filters every 2 weeks.
Please contact us at support@wuipet.com to purchase
new filters.
Or alternatively find them online through searching
"WUIPET filters" on amazon.
1) Fill in water between MIN and MAX. The pump will
fail if it runs dry.
2) Clean the pump, water tank, and drinking basin.
3) If the above solutions don’t work, please contact us
at support@wuipet.com, Or alternatively find a
replacement online through online stores on amazon
The pump stops
working.
Why do I need to soak
the filter before first
use?
The filters absorb more water (and therefore clean
more water) when they’re wet and expanded.Soaking
the filter removes particulate maer that may have
seled on the filter.
Water output speed
slows down.
For the first use (or reuse after long-time storage),
the water pump needs to discharge air, it’s normal if
the water output speed slows down.

New to the Pet Water Fountain?
As pet water fountain specialists, we are here to provide you with help
and guidance at every step of your feeding journey.
1) Clean and Rinse the Water Fountain Before Use
Even though fountains come wrapped up in a box, it does not mean they
are clean and ready to use. Wash the fountain out with soap and water,
and make sure to rinse the filter. Rinsing the filter thoroughly before use.
2) Keep the Fountain Turned O Until They are Comfortable
If your pet is cautious of the noise the fountain makes, keep it turned o
until they are used to drinking from it. This can help them adjust to their
new fountain slowly and help with potential dehydration from lack of
drinking.
3) Allow Them to Investigate
Maybe your pet is too wary to come up to the fountain or doesn’t notice
there is water in the fountain. While they are looking, place your hand or
finger in the fountain and bring it up to their lips. This will let them know
there is water in the fountain and help them understand what the new
device is.
4) Keep Food Away From the Fountain
If your pet drinks from the fountain and it splashes on their food, they
may be less interested in drinking from it for fear that it will wet their
food wet. If your pet is a messy drinker in general, it’s best to keep their
water away from their food.
5) Keep Fresh Water Available in a Dierent Bowl
If pets keep refusing the pet fountain, be patient, and continue to provide
them with more containers. It is not a good idea to force them to drink
from the fountain by removing other water sources. This could cause them
to have negative associations with the fountain.
6) Reward Your Pet for Using the Fountain
When your pets take a sip of water, even sni and walk around the water
fountain, reward them. This will let them know they are doing something
good and will provide positive reinforcement for using their new water
source.

7) Turn the Fountain On and Continue Rewarding Them
Once your pets show a positive response towards the water fountain and
start drinking more, turn the fountain on, and you can leave the running
fountain for your pets. You can take some engagement this time if your
pets are frightened of the running fountain.
8) Slowly Remove Secondary Water Source and Taper Back on Rewards
When your pet starts drinking from the fountain, monitor how much water
they are drinking. This will help you determine when you can remove the
secondary water source. Once they develop a positive association with the
fountain, you can slowly taper back on rewarding them with treats and
verbally praise them instead.

How Much Water Should a Cat/Dog Consume?
Understanding how much water your cat/dog should drink on average
can help prevent dehydration.
For Cat:
A good rule is to aim for 3.5–4.5 ounces of water per day for every 5
pounds of body weight each day.
For Dog:
In general, dogs should drink approximately 1 ounce of water (1/8 of a
cup) per pound of body weight each day.
However, there are many factors that can aect how much your cat or
dog will drink, including their size, activity level and health, so you should
not restrict your pet’s water intake.
Unless directed by your veterinarian, it’s not necessary to measure out
the exact water amounts your pet drinks. Just make sure that your pet
has plenty of fresh, clean water every day.
